Yes, this really was a demo put together by SEGA Australia to remake Golden Axe. This was actually part of a 'Reborn' series that SEGA Australia wanted to do. The Reborn series would include remakes of Streets of Rage, Shinobi and others. The project was never greenlit, but at least we have this pre-alpha footage.
