Mike Tyson never beating Glass Joe is one thing. He's the first opponent in the boxer's titular Punch-Out!!, so this means Iron Mike played the game once or twice, gave up, and went back to tending pigeons in his spare time. But not being able to defeat King Hippo is a different brand of shame.Read more...

The case has been made that, without his freeze breath, super-speed or invulnerability, Superman really ain't that tough. In the famous 1978 Superman vs. Muhammad Ali comic, a de-powered Kal-El had to face up against The Greatest of All Time and got smacked around by the champion. But, when you compare Ali to Little Mac's final opponent in the NES classic, it sure seems like Superman got off lucky. Read more...

Fighting in hockey is awesome. It's more than tolerated - the NHL has no problem with fighting on the ice, nor in the video games it licenses. Know what makes a hockey fight more awesome? Punch-Out!! music. More »

You might find College Humor's latest video game parody clip, posted just past the jump, a hilarious look at what might have been had classic games been laughably more accessible. We see it as a haunting vision of things to come. That easy mode included in Mega Man 10? That's how it all starts.

Several Joysitq staffers were pleased to discover that the 2009 Club Nintendo rewards have begun to arrive today. For those that need a reminder of what the gifts are, Platinum members got to choose between a real life Mario hat or a download of Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!, a special version of Punch-Out!! featuring Little Mac's trainer, Doc Louis. Meanwhile, Gold members were limited to one gift, a 2010 Nintendo calendar. Check out the gallery below for images of all the different gifts.
