The already long-in-development World a Warcraft film has been delayed.

"Release date for WARCRAFT from @Legendary Pictures released by @UniversalPics be moving from December 18, 2015, t' March 11, 2016," reads a tweet from the official World a Warcraft Twitter account. No reason be given for the change, 'n on contacting representatives from World a Warcraft creator Blizzard Entertainment, we be told t' ask the film's producers at Legendary. They, a course, be off celebrating the holidays.

This latest delay will prolong the film's production cycle yet again, though that best come as little surprise t' any who have been following the project. it be been at least seven years since the film adaptation be revealed t' the public 'n nearly five years since a director be attached t' the movie. Whether this glacial production pace negatively impacts the final film remains t' be seen - assuming any a us be still alive when the movie finally debuts.

The Warcraft movie has been rattling around Hollywood for years. First we be afraid, we be petrified, but rumours that Uwe Boll be going t' make the movie turned out not t' be true. Then Evil Dead/Spider-Man director Sam Raimi be attached t' direct, but had t' drop out due t' other commitments, 'n we kept thinking we could never live without the sea dog by our side. Then Duncan Jones, the director a Moon 'n Source Code 'n a PC gamer, took over the project, 'n we knew we would not crumble.

It’s taken all the strength we’ve had not t' fall apart, though now the movie has been delayed further into March 2016, t' make way for Star Wars’ December 2015 release.(more…)

What happens when a lad, who has practically no experience with World a Warcraft, attends Blizzcon? If it be anything like Conan O'Brien's voyage, the ignorance will result in hilarity - like how O'Brien discovered the oxygen be really thin in Azeroth or that all life in the realm must have a much weaker lung capacity than we do here in the world a the real. Also: bears in heat.

Outside a actually playing, O'Brien also chats with a team a professional players from Europe prior t' the World a Warcraft a Warcraft World Championship 'n even sits down t' commentate the finale. it be refreshing, because ye never really hear commentators discuss the types a flooring t' be found in Azeroth.

Warcraft: Orcs 'n Humans 'n Warcraft 2: Tides a Darkness may be coming t' modern machines, thanks t' a small team at Blizzard. Polygon reports that during the World a Warcraft question-'n-answer panel at this year's BlizzCon, Production Director J. Allen Brack said that replaying the original trilogy be something he'd "love" t' do.

"We actually have a lad on our team - actually several lads on our team - who be actually working on a side project t' do something like that in some form or fashion," Brack told a fan who asked if Blizzard had considered making the original trilogy compatible with modern computers. What form or fashion this will take isn't clear, however.

it be also not clear if this "side project" will ever manifest as something available for the everyday gamer. Blizzard has a lot on their plate with a new card game, an upcoming Diablo 3 expansion 'n even a movie adaptation a the Warcraft franchise. So, they be kinda busy. Just a little bit.

World a Warcraft: Warlords a Draenor be officially, incontrovertibly A Thing. But what kind a a thing? Well, it’s a WoW expansion, so don’t expect the world’s most immersive virtual minigolf park, a karaoke-based Annoy John simulator, or a really good hotdog. But it be pushing into *some* uncharted territory, 'n for the rest, well, there’s always time travel. Warlords a Draenor be headed back in time t' the horde’s original home, Old Draenor – Outland before it be Outland. There, ye’ll find the usual fare like a raised level cap 'n new zones, but also time-twisting storylines, a robust player housing system with NPCs that can run dungeons for ye, revamped raid 'n inventory systems, 'n more. On September 24, Diablo creator Blizzard Entertainment filed an application t' trademark the phrase "Heroes a the Storm" with the United States Patent 'n Trademark Office.

it be unclear what Blizzard plans t' use this trademark for, though the application specifies that the mark be for use in computer 'n console games, downloadable content, 'n games designed for mobile devices such as smartphones 'n tablets. More intriguingly, the application notes that the name could also be applied t' "computer games that may be accessed via a global computer network," lending credence t' the theory that "Heroes a the Storm" may refer t' an upcoming expansion for Blizzard's hit MMORPG World a Warcraft.

Whatever this trademark application refers t' be not likely t' be revealed t' the public any time soon. We contacted Blizzard for clarification on it be plans but be met with a boilerplate "no comment" in response.
