#masseffect Mass Effect: Deception is the latest fictional spin-off from the sci-fi role-playing series, a novel due for release very soon. Previous novels in the franchise have been written by Drew Karpyshyn. This one, though, is written by a newcomer, William C. Dietz, and with some copies are already out there, fans are finding the thing is full of errors. More »

#uncharted I was disappointed with Uncharted 3 for a number of reasons. Certainly one of those reasons was that the game had bizarre difficulty spikes and could be kind of a dick sometimes. But another, possibly bigger reason was that while Uncharted 3 generally mirrored the pacing and story-arc of Uncharted 2, it lacked one of my favorite things about its predecessor: Chemistry. Specifically, the romantic chemistry born of the love-triangle between Nathan Drake, Chloe, and Elena. More love-triangles in games, please! More »

#masseffect Thanks to previous mini-series, Mass Effect fans have been able to learn more about characters like The Illusive Man and Aria T'Loak. Now the fauxhawked soldier who'll be running alongside your Commander Shepard gets the spotlight in the first issue of the new Mass Effect: Homeworlds series. You can take an exclusive look at issue one's covers in the images above. Written by Mass Effect 3 lead writer Mac Walters, each installment of Homeworlds will focus on one of the main characters of the game. It’s going to be Mass Effect trailers from here until March I reckon, at which point we can finally play the game and enjoy the conversation as well as the guns. This new’un resolutely focuses on the latter, or more specifically giant space beasts at war as tiny ManShep legs it around a collapsing cityscape in their wake. Spectacular stuff, but scripted from here to eternity and all a bit Gears of Warsy.(more…)

Mako Races! Krogan mud wrestling! Co-op mining! Garrus threesome co-op! None of which is going to be in Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer. Give it up BioWare, Shepard on Shepard action is what we want to see, none of this “Success in multi-player will have a direct impact on the outcome of the single player campaign” tomfoolery. But yes, that’s the headline. I’ve just got DeviantArt open in another window.
