Hack-and-slash game Warriors: Legends of Troy was delayed after the Tohoku Earthquake (it was supposed to be out March 16 in Japan), but now has a new release date: May 26. The game is already out in the West. Is it any good? [via Game Watch] More »

In Warriors: Legends of Troy, you control a group of legendary heroes that fought in the Trojan War originally described in Virgil's epic, The Aeneid. Controlling Greek warriors like Achilles and Trojan heroes like Hector, you cut your way through hundreds of poor, under-powered soldiers and -- occasionally -- face off against opposing heroes...
DOA Dimensions, Warriors: Legends of Troy postponed indefinitely in Japan

Two more games have been moved out of their original Japanese release dates following the recent earthquakes. Tecmo Koei announced today that Dead or Alive Dimensions for 3DS and Warriors: Legends of Troy for Xbox 360 and PS3 won't make their scheduled March 24 and March 31 releases. The publisher did not offer a new date for either release.

There's little chance of Warriors' North American date being affected by this shift, since it's out -- but we're checking with Tecmo about the Western release dates for DOA Dimensions. The game was never dated in North America anyway, so the question of whether it's been delayed might be complicated.

Warriors: Legends of Troy preview: Changing the dynasty

It seems that nearly every Koei game, in some shape or form, is related to Dynasty Warriors. Legends of Troy is no different, giving you control over a lone warrior slaughtering hundreds of generic enemies. While it's bound to fall victim to the curse of repetition, Warriors: Legends of Troy makes some significant advancements to Koei's familiar formula: improved visuals and deeper combat.

That said, the TGS demo I played wasn't polished enough to keep me captivated.
Preview: A quartet of Tecmo Koei titles

I usually try to avoid whirlwind preview sessions during gaming events -- hour-long booth tours that see me bouncing between a handful of titles from the same developer. However, that was the case during my recent E3 time with Tecmo Koei's suite of upcoming titles, a collection which included Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage, Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll, Quantum Theory and Warriors: Legends of Troy.

Given my limited time with each of the aforementioned games, I decided to arrange my initial impressions about them into a single preview. You can check out my thoughts on Tecmo Koei's lineup after the jump.

Tecmo Koei brings Fist of the North Star, more to E3

The combined Tecmo/Koei entity has revealed a selection of four games it will have on display at next week's E3. The shooter Quantum Theory and the action RPG Trinity: Souls of Zill O'll, both delayed earlier this year, will be present at the show.

In addition, Tecmo Koei has announced that it's localizing its punchy Dynasty Warriors game, Fist of the North Star, as Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage, with a planned fall 2010 release on PS3 and Xbox 360. Rounding out the (known) lineup is Warriors: Legends of Troy, which is also kind of like Dynasty Warriors, but focused on ancient Greek history instead of pseudo-historical China or Japan.

Check out new Fist of the North Star screens in our gallery below, and follow the break for galleries of the other three.
