No, keep your clothes on, thank you very much. We meant that there is a lot going on in the world of ModNation Racers this time of year. Have a seat, grab a cool beverage and relax because YOU have a lot to do this week!

DLC ShowcaseWith all the recent DLC hitting PSN, we thought we would show you some of the great tracks we have found in our searches. Please let us know if you find any recent track gems like these using any new DLC by visiting our forum HERE.
Recent DLC: Medieval Mini-Theme
Squires rise up, join this “scribe” and declare this the 25th morn of July in the year our ModNation 2011 the beginning of thy crusade to bring ModNation a really freaking cool olde, olde, olde school Medieval track to the ModKingdom!
Medieval Mini-Theme is available in the PlayStation Store now for only $6.99. Cometh on, the price of your very own drawbridge is worth every half-penny, mark and florin you can rustle up from between your throne’s seat cushions! check here for more details.
Special Limited-Edition DLC: Stowaway Mod & Kart
His wetsuit leads us to believe he snuck out of the chilly UFG offices in Canada and made the long, cold, watery voyage down to San Diego. This must be the case as NO self-respecting SoCal resident would be caught dead in a full wetsuit in the middle of the summer, especially one that matches their pigmentation!
*The Special Limited Edition Stowaway Mod & Kart will not be available for sale and will only be given away in small numbers during upcoming ModNation community events. Check this blog, our Facebook page and the MNR forums for ways to stow him away into YOUR collection!
Creations of The Week:Track of The Week:
Wu Xing Water Shrine by ArgorokX – One of the best tracks I have played in quite a while. So much thought OBVIOUSLY went into the design of this track and it shows. Driving over the river (and through the falls)? Did you just have me jump into someone’s landscaped backyard swimming pool? Are you kidding me? WOW! ArgorokX you made my day(s)!
Hot Lap Tracks:
Monday: Wu Xing Water Shrine by ArgorokX
Tuesday: Desert market V 1.2 by lop330
Wednesday: WATER TEMPLE OF NEXOS by RADBOYROB
Thursday: Triple Threat Kingdom by GAMEPLAN_412
Friday: Eerie Mineshaft by grey_jeep
Saturday: Big Chill Descent by MylesG
Sunday: Sham’s Desert Oasis v1.1 by ShamgarBlade
Mods of The Week:
Another great, Great, GREAT week of creations! Keep em’ coming! Please keep them coming!

I recently discovered a fun user-created track Meteor Base Attack by OnePoppa) only days after the release of the new Alien Invasion Mini-Theme DLC in which the following happened…
And oh yeah… all in the first lap! INSANITY I say! Good, clean, insane INSANITY!!!
If you don’t have the Alien Invasion Mini-Theme yet, make sure you get it soon to guarantee that aliens won’t swoop down and harvest those loose “better judgment” cells from your cranium. We are always here to help! You’re welcome.
Get it now in the PlayStation Store now for $6.99!
Here are a few other DLC Showcase tracks we found this week:

NEW DLCMedieval Mini-Theme will be available to purchase in the PlayStation Store this Tuesday, July 19th for $6.99!
It looks like it’s time for some of the MNR D&D (not D4D) clan to come out of hiding. Bust out your harps and lutes, polish up your suit of armor and grab that tunic out of the laundry because it’s a Renaissance Faire ModNation style!
Now you can place that drawbridge over your moat, surround your fortress with trebuchets and cannons, or just hang out at the local tavern’s banquet table. Any way you set it up you’ll truly become the “king of da castle”. (Note – ModNation not responsible for any damage inflicted to nearby villages through unsupervised use of your town’s trebuchets or battering rams). Check it out here.
RECENT DLCGladiator Parts Pack is available to purchase in the PlayStation Store now for $4.99! Like we said before, “why buy this? Two words Trojan Horse!” Done and done! :-)
Creations of the WeekTrack of the Week: NOT A Tie!
Sham’s Desert Oasis v1.1 by ShamgarBlade
Hot Lap Tracks:
Monday: Sham’s Desert Oasis v1.1 by ShamgarBlade (I am going to be looking for more great tracks to come from ShamgarBlade. You made what I consider a quintessential desert oasis track. wOOt!).
Tuesday: Downtown Derby by EvilPinata (Possibly my favorite Big City DLC track do far. It felt like a living, breathing metropolis, realistic, yet fun at the same time).
Wednesday: The Arctic Chill by StealthReborn– (“Q: Hey Mark, I’m all about the racing. Who will not disappoint?”… A: StealthReborn—).
Thursday: Elite Hidden Tsina Temple by RockToonz (I’m starting to understand why his tracks start with the word elite!).
Friday: Exotic Expressway (Fixed) by VintageOctopus (the title worried me but the track delivered a very fun race through and through).
Saturday: ALIENS VS DINOSAURS by RADBOYROB (I honestly did a spit take when I saw a dinosaur chewing on the Rings of Saturn!).
Sunday: Ice Age by flathletics102 (Loved the Woolly Mammoth but especially liked the campers in the campground. Chuckled every time)
Kart of the Week: Flame Thrower Joe’s Jeep by Shelbot3001
Mod of the Week: Flame Thrower Joe by Shelbot3001
I was actually frightened for my fellow competitors in races when this Mod would lean over the side of his Kart extending his flamethrower directly in my opponent’s face. Shelbot3001, what’s next for gosh sake? You rock!
More goodies next week people!
Until Monday, Earthlings,

In April we celebrated our two-millionth user-generated creation with the uber-successful ModNation-Palooza’s keyword searches. These searches revealed some amazing creations. Last week we concluded the “Moddys”, a celebration of ModNation Racers’ One Year Anniversary in which our team took an in-depth look at the past year’s best Mods, Karts and Tracks and gave them some well-deserved recognition. Check them out here!
As you may have noticed, the ModNation delivery trucks are still unloading at our docks with lots of new DLC. What better way to show off these “new toys” than to let you turn them into some never-before-seen (or imagined) tracks. For the next few weeks, Top Tracks will feature five tracks nominated by the community of some of what they have discovered in our DLC Showcase event.
Let us know if you find any recent track gems using the new DLC by visiting our forum and posting them here.

Creations Of The Week:Track(s) Of The Week: A Tie! (AGAIN!)
Douthinkhesaurus by villain29
The Ancient Future by prob_alex
You guys are going to get me fired if you keep making these incredible tracks! My boss (yes, there are bosses in the gaming industry) thinks I’m getting lazy and can’t pick a winner (leave that alone you knuckle-heads). I’m not lazy, maybe easily impressed, but not lazy! (Btw… the only difference between bosses in gaming and the “real world” is that they wear shorts and “penny-t’s”. Oh, that may be a SoCal thing now that I think of it. Oh well, strike that).
Hot Lap Tracks:
Monday: Douthinkhesaurus by villain29 (my current all-time favorite track name!)
Tuesday: The Ancient Future by prob_alex (using Arctic, Big City, Prehistoric AND Moon Colony parts packs!)
Wednesday: Motorway Madness by Moshbag (love the insanity!)
Thursday: Construction Mayhem by StealthReborn– (Stealth just makes great races tracks. End of story)
Friday: Project Futuro Nova by atheistsw (atheistsw is loving that Big City DLC he’s always dreamed about!)
Saturday: Winter Palace by grey_jeep (would make UFG’s theme designers proud!)
Sunday: Snowy Shrine Speedrun by dane9261 (dane9261 has been on a submitting frenzy lately and this is his best so far)
Kart of the Week: Squid Cruiser by BonzaiiSheep

The “Moddys” Celebrate The ModNation Track Creating CommunityThis is week four of our anniversary celebration, which brings us to the proverbial geniuses of ModNation – the Track Creators. Many of this game’s track designs rival the works of Frank Lloyd Wright, Daedalus, Mike Brady and Nimrod (considered the creator of the Tower of Babel). “Dude said Nimrod. Saaaweeeet!”
But seriously, if you have ever tried to make a track, you will appreciate how much work and passion goes into these creations. Only three words are needed to describe this group of creators Brill-i-ant”!
Take a look HERE…
Next week we close the “Moddys” with our hodgepodge of categories such as “Cutest Mod Couple”, “People’s Choice” (creations chosen by the community), and other favorites from the ModNation Monday blogs. Lots to see next week. Be looking for it!

Peace!
We will offer you a few solutions.
…but first!
As most of you heard at the Sony Press Conference kicking off E3, we are proudly bringing the ModNation franchise to the much anticipated PlayStation Vita. It was a great opportunity to share with you all some of the things our team has in store. Take a look at this…
and secondly…
In early March we announced a contest to create the best ModNation Racers track using a free parts pack sponsored by Progressive Insurance. This parts pack followed on the heels of the free Flo mod and Progressive vehicle downloads.
Well, the entries are all in, and our judges have been playing the top levels…as chosen by the community… to determine our finalists. They’ve made a final decision based upon originality, quality/polish, brand awareness and creative use of the items. Our official Progressive ModNation Racers Gran Prix winners are:
Grand Prize: Progressive_Mega_Plex (its2l84that) Runners-up: Pro_Flo_Ivory Park Plaza“There were several tracks which used the Progressive items in clever ways, but most of them weren’t fun from a racing perspective,” said Mark Androvich, Manager of PlayStation Network Advertising and one of our judges. “And, on the other side, there were several tracks which were fun to drive, but made little use of the Progressive items. Mega Plex was a great mix of both—representing the best features of ModNation Racers as well as positively representing the Progressive brand.”
If you haven’t checked out these tracks for yourself, sign into ModNation Racers and search for the track name or author. We think you’ll be just as impressed as we were.
Congratulations to our winners, and thanks to everyone who entered!
and now…
In light of the recent bevy of new MNR DLC we brought in an expert in time management to offer you some help. Here are a few of their suggestions to get your DLC on.
You could call in sick to work (we don’t recommended) A weekend of soda and energy drinks? Take advantage of a 3 day weekend celebrating a holiday (July 4th in U.S.) Pray for a freak snowstorm ONLY in your neighborhood Ditch jury duty (not recommended) Graduate a semester late (it’s probably going to happen anyway)Hmmmmmm…that’s the best they could give us? Consultants, go figure.

(ModNationSD)
As most of you heard at the Sony Press Conference kicking off E3, we are proudly bringing the ModNation franchise to the much anticipated PlayStation Vita. It was a great opportunity to share with you all some of the things our team has in store. For starters, the ModNation Racers PS3 Community has created in just over a year’s time over 2 million Mods, Karts and Tracks. All of which will be available to anyone who purchases ModNation Racers (Working Title) for PS Vita on day one. That means by using the online capabilities and processing power of the PS Vita, the ModNation team has made it possible for users to download any PS3 user generated creation and bring it with them on the go.
The team has also made huge strides in creating a ground up effort to make a ModNation title that takes full advantage of the PlayStation Vita features. As mentioned in the Press Conference, this title is not a port of the PSP or PS3. On the creation side, we showed that in a matter of seconds how fast and easy it is to create a track by drawing it with your finger. The front touch capability of the PS Vita has kicked the door wide open for more intuitive ways to edit your track and place props to your personal liking. But without a doubt, the single most element that received the most “Oooos and Aaaahs,” was the power of the back touch.
Play puppet master in your very own ModNation universe and raise mountains by simply touching the back panel. The longer you hold your fingertips to the back panel, the higher the peaks rise. On the front panel, if you feel inclined to create a lake, simply press down until you strike water. We also demonstrated that the integrity of ModNation kart racing is still intact with the advantage of Dual Analog Sticks. With steering on the left stick, and performing stunts on the right, racing could not be more fun.
As you will watch in this never before seen video, creation is certainly at your fingertips. It is a great time for technology and the PlayStation Vita has given us a wealth of tools to work with. We are excited to say that this is only the tip of the iceberg. There is plenty more that will be revealed in the months to come so keep your eyes peeled.
Also, be sure to check out G4’s Best of E3 2011 special airing Monday, June 20 at 6:30pm ET/PT. We were nominated for Best Handheld and Best Racing Game!

MODNATION CREATIONS OF THE WEEK:
This week’s track submissions were collectively the best I have had the pleasure of playing so far. IMHO this was an All-Star caliber week.
SPOTLIGHT TRACK OF THE WEEK
Solaria by prob_alex
prob_alex says: “HEY all… this imo is my most beautiful track I have created.. as it’s a complete fantasy allowing me to create anything I liked… so… I created large floating islands for all of you to race upon.. hope you enjoy this 1”
PatrickJames777 says: “Another masterpiece Alex!! I really enjoy the creativity and style you put into your tracks. Also thanks for another great tutorial…(Keep them coming…) Finally, The Battle of Port Duisburg (last week’s winner), where you race on the big ship was also epic!! Really enjoyed the intricacies and variance of the paths. Keep up the great work!!”
hound247 says: “Really like the design on this one. It also flows really well which always helps. One of my favourite downloaded tracks actually”
Mark drools (again): prob_alex has created back to back “Tracks of the Week”. Last week many including myself deemed his Battle of Port Duisburg track “epic” and it is. NOW what do I say?… this track is “epic’er”?, “epic-est”?, “post-epic”?. Thanks prob_alex, now I have to go out and buy a new thesaurus!
Let me illustrate my review of this track.
Me (approx. 6pm PST): Wifey, kids I’m home!
Fam: yea! How was work?
Me: Wait until you see the track I played today!
(end scene)
Honorable Mention: Shrines of the Jamaicans by BlackSamich
I had a really hard time not voting this a “Track of the Week”. BlackSamich obviously had a distinct vision in his mind with this design. I was still intrigued by the atmosphere he created with each proceeding lap. Nice job! Great track!

villain29 says: “This is Royston, Supermods nemesis and he plans Modnation domination!”
Mark says: “villain29, I liked this mod so much that it inspired an upcoming ModNation-palooza event.” (Hint… start working on his “Superhero” story).
Kart Name: Level 30

MODNATION CREATIONS OF THE WEEK:
SPOTLIGHT TRACK OF THE WEEK
Battle of Port Duisburg by prob_alex
prob_alex says: “This my most challenging track to date… many, many, many hours spent on it so I really hope u enjoy it. The final lap the track route completely changes and will probably catch a few people out but thats part of the fun”
Tecnoboy1 says: “Looks like a real battlefield, nice job”
Laidbackcat says: “totally epic .. another classic from wales”
atheistsw says: “Ah, that looks epic, the boat is immense”
Mark drools: “Lets put it this way, I looked up the definition of the word “epic” in the dictionary and that falls way, way short. prob_alex can create a track with UN-BE-LIEVE-ABLE structures (fly / drive over a battleship and more), but he doesn’t just rely on this. He somehow finds the time and talent to create a fun and unique track to go with it”. Do yourself a favor, drive this track. It comes with a money-back guarantee! If you don’t like it you’ll get 100% of your money back!… oh that’s right, tracks like this are free! GOTTA LOVE MNR!”
Honorable Mention: D.C. Drift! By atheistsw
atheistsw says: “Take a picturesque drive through the capitol city, marveling at the sights while staying one step ahead of the opposition. With plenty of opportunities for big air and huge drifts this is a track to suit novices and experts alike. Remember to wave to Obama as you drive-by.”
Mark: Bucket list. Washington D.C. Check.

TRACK CREATION TUTORIAL
Floating Islands by prob_alex
Mark (in a paranoid voice): “prob_alex, have you planted a listening device in my home? This weekend I was showing friends MNR (they looooved it) and to a person (including myself) exclaimed “how did they make those islands float!”. The next day I log on to the forums at work and I see a tutorial (want more) about just this same exact thing (goosebumps). prob_alex, you are my hero (and soon to be other’s hero after they see this!).”
Check this out: Island Tutorial
Wow…we’re not worthy!, we’re not worthy!
Let the mind-blowing creations begin!
Thank You!
On behalf of the ModNation Racers family at UFG, Sony and San Diego Studio, we are so appreciative and humbled by your enthusiasm and passion for this game we all love.
Our sincere thank you. You rock! (1..2..3.. big Nation hug!)
Well that’s it for this week. I’ve gotta start racing a bunch of tracks or I’m never going to get any “work” done.
Have a great week!
Mark

REMEMBER… ask not what ModNation can do for you, but what can you do for ModNation!
(I wonder if President Obama would be the first president to play MNR? I’ll bet ya he’d be all over it. I’ll send him an email and find out! No really, I will.)
NEXT WEEK: FREE DLC – Progressive Props Pack
Our friends at Progressive Insurance gave us a free Mod and a free Kart. Guess what’s next? That’s right!, we will be giving you the FREE Progressive Props Pack which includes

Let the ModNation celebrations begin! On your next visit to the Modspot take another look at the Top Tracks billboard. What?… no “Tiku Tik Mountain”, no “Unlimited Drift” or “Famous Flying Camel”? They are gone from Top Tracks but not forgotten, now gems in the ModNation crown.
Now each week we will choose a “Spotlight Track of the Week” (see below) which is the best-of-the best of the past weeks’ creation submissions. This will give each of the winning tracks’ creators some much deserved exposure and possibly a lot more xp!
CREATIONS OF THE WEEK:
SPOTLIGHT TRACK OF THE WEEK
A Jurassic Nation by prob_alex
prob_alex says: “There are various alternate routes. but I won’t tell u the quickest… I’ll let you find out for yourselves!”
Smbradley (MNR community member) says: “Been looking forward to this since I saw the first pic of the T-Rex. That Pterodactyl looks absolutely brilliant. Awesome wooden bridge as well.”
Funkee_Monkee4 (MNR community member) says: “One of the best tracks I’ve played! This and a Whale’s Tale are some of your best offerings yet! I found the part with the terradactyl my favorite section”.
Mark’s Review: This is prob_alex’s third “Track of the Week” selection. Congratulations!
I knew right from the start as my heart was pounding in fearful anticipation that this track was going to be something special. Even after multiple laps I still feared a creature jumping out of the brush to take a bite out of my kart. Did it happen?, No. Was I still concerned?, Yes. I loved the fact that prob_alex made me drive through brush to collect item pods, not knowing what creature (if any) was in there. That’s good track design! I enjoy tracks that not only offer a great racing experience or great racing lines, but those that take me someplace I’ve never been OR always wanted to go. As far as dinosaur lands are concerned I’ll stick to this track and maybe a fairly popular series of Jurassic period movies that I hear are pretty good.
Honorable Mention: Valentine by BongSoldier.
What a great idea for a Valentines track. Diving through a heart shaped ring of red roses… awesome! (I tried to re-edit the track and give it to my wife as a Valentines gift but she didn’t like that). #nightonthecouch

PS3 MOD AND KART OF THE WEEK
Mod Name: Ka-Boom
Creator: villain29
Kart Name: Ka-Boom Kart
Creator: villain29
villain29: “He’s the mod that just loves to be blown up! He has a fast kart but an even faster fuse”
Mark: I love it! I think you might have a comic book character in the making! Write us his story. We’d love to see it. btw… the suspenders was a nice touch. Made me laugh out loud!
RECENT DLC Lovebug Mod and Swan Kart
Love is still in the air around the office with the recent Lovebug Mod and Kart release. We received lots of comments on the Lovebug mod. What did you think??
The Lovebug and Swan Kart are on sale this week on the PSN for only $.99 each or as $1.75 pack.
PSP “Spotlight” Creations:
Track: Deadly Rac3 by dlvb33000
Mod: Uncle Sam by battelingvinod
Kart: Royal by battelingvinod
I hope you like some of the new features we are adding to the ModNation Racers community. Stay tuned, more to come!
Peace.
Mark
btw…Look for me out on the raceway (PSN ID ModnationSD). I’ll be the kart with the license plate you’ll be reading! Kidding, kidding, kidding (or am I?)
The Black Eyed Peas couldn’t seem to spell it correctly, but we can (L-O-V-E) and we have plenty of that for the ModNation this week. Double XP, FREE DLC, and love for the PSP (somebody write a song, that rhymes!) and more!
“I’ll Scratch Your Back, You Scratch Mine”
How’s this for a “sweetheart” deal? I’ve done some wheelin‘n’dealin’ to get you some much desired Double XP so get ready to crank it up this week. Double XP “Week of Love” runs from February 15th – 21st.
Now here’s what I need from you… MORE Tracks! MORE Karts! MORE Mods! I’m very impressed with all the creations I have seen so far but I have an insatiable appetite for more! Since I’m asking you to spend your time building tracks the least I can do is return the favor. I will seriously look at EVERY track submitted as well as thoroughly test drive each track considered for Hot Lap status. In fact I’d consider it an honor. It is art!
Deal? You can submit your creations HERE 24/7.
FREE DLC (One Week Only): Lovebug Mod and Swan Kart
Until now, no one actually knew what the Lovebug looked like. The investigative team at UFG have put together an “artist rendering” based on eyewitness accounts from both young and old who have been bitten by this beautiful(?) creature. The Swan kart on the other hand may be fiction. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, these are our gift to you.
Free DLC love for one week only!
UPCOMING DLC
Your next kart will need some very “Progressive” design. You’ll be fine, just “Go With The Flo” early in March.
CREATIONS OF THE WEEK
Tracks of the Week
Monday: The Summit Plummet by Sherris
Tuesday: Isla Luxoria by atheistsw
Wednesday: The Twist of Old Town by beatdough
Thursday: Tanuki Town by dane9261
Friday: City of Deneb by Cygnus2780
SPOTLIGHT TRACK OF THE WEEK
The Summit Plummet by Sherris
Sherris says: “I wanted to create a track with a nice open feel to it before it threw you into a very narrow Tunnel/mine shaft. I love off-roading and challenging alternate routes that feel satisfying when you pull them off.”
Mark: “I think Wookiepedia better describes racing your track-
Podracing was a popular sport in the less-developed regions of the galaxy. It has been called ‘the ultimate test of skill and daring on Tatooine,’ and was certainly one of the most dangerous sports ever invented, killing many racers.
That was exactly my experience! It took me a long time to finish towards the top on the amazing off-road track.”
PS3 MOD AND KART OF THE WEEK
Mod Name: Combat Drone (type 2)
Creator: Shelbot3001 – “This mod is designed to be an aquatic drone with the appearance that it is hovering above your kart.”
Kart Name: Thorny Rose
Creator: CroTim – “It was meant to be beautiful, yet rugged, so all the stickers of roses have thorns. I accomplished the look as if the rose vines were coming out from under the hood and from the front wheels.”
YOU DOWN WITH PSP?
Mark: Yeah you know me!
PSP owners, do you own ModNation Racers for the PSP? Every week we will highlight a FANTASTIC PSP track, mod and kart for the community’s admiration. I know I have been blown away at what I’ve seen so far. Let’s keep going! (Any impressive stats on how many tracks, karts, and mods we have online?)
If you are new to track creation on the PSP, here are links to some great tutorials from MNR PSP Producer Vernon Mollette:

Who Are You? Who? Who?
Hi all, In case you missed last week’s blog, I’m Mark Wilson aka “the new guy” aka “mdub” here on Team ModNation. Thank you for all the nice introductions this past week on the forums.
I am stoked to work with the ModNation Racers team here in San Diego, the awesome team at United Front Games in Vancouver, and with you, the guy (or girl) with the PS3 controller in one hand and a highly caffeinated beverage in the other, working day and night on your masterpiece of a Track, Mod, or Kart. I look forward to doing what I can to encourage and develop new creators into the family.
Killzone Kart and Mod!
Only a couple more weeks ‘til Killzone 3 hits the shelves.
The Helghast- Invading Your Space
You can get your hands on this Helghast Mod and Kart for $1.99 in the PSN store.
Let the invasion begin!
Get Bit By the Love Bug!
As you probably know, Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching, and as a show of love for all of you, we’ll be giving you something special next week.
Tune in next week for details!
New Addition To ModNation Mondays
Next week I will be introducing a new feature that I think you’ll enjoy. I can’t tell you about it just yet, but if I was you I would bust out my PSP and get it charged. I’m just sayin’.
ModNation Creations of the Week – BRING IT!
Whether you have created one track or one hundred tracks (has anybody done 100+?) we want to see them all. That’s what this game is all about Play Create Share. Give it your best shot. Who knows, you just might see your creation featured in this weekly blog or your track may make it to the Hot Lap section of the game. Remember these key few points to help you get your creations noticed. No Intellectual Property – IP or inappropriate content in the creation OR in the title of the creation. Many times we have to exclude creations from Hot Lap status based on creation titles alone. So sad. To submit your creation CLICK HERE.
Hopefully with the new unlock key and new parts packs we will be receiving a flood of new creations. We are expecting you to keep us up all night too, liters of eye drops at our side, playing, laughing, ooo-ing and awe-ing, crying and hugging (appropriately) over your newest efforts.
PS3 Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: alien fighter pilot
Creator: sjm101
Stunning! Screen shots in no way give this mod the justice it deserves. I’m not sure what unknown universe this mod is from or what mysterious planet sjm101 may have visited but let us in on it! You must download this mod to believe it (available in five designer colors). sjm101… Please build a story around him. Note – no parties involved in building this game can be held responsible for the content of the subliminal messages emanating from the “thingamajigy” on alien fighter pilot’s back. Too cool! (btw… Merriam Webster defines thingamajigy as – something that is hard to classify or whose name is unknown or forgotten). Cool “thingamajigy” sjm101!
Kart Name: MNR Mods Racing
Creator: Freshwick
Tag and the ModNation team in San Diego thank you for the love. Great kart!
Spotlight Track Of The Week
Track Name: The River of the Sun
Track Creator: Funkee_Monkee4
Funkee_Monkee4 says: race through a luscious river valley with multiple shortcuts.
Mark says: Now that’s an understatement! Funkee_Monkee4 seemingly designed this course intentionally linking many unique aspects of ModNation gameplay. After many play troughs I could not choose just one route as my favorite. That ‘s good design in my opinion. This forces you to make in-race decisions at that very moment based on your track position, available boost, etc… Funkee_Monkee4 has built a track that may not solicit a lot of initial WOW’s the first few times around (those get old anyway) but with repeated play I was still smiling out loud… Nice!, Nice! Niiiice!
Funkee_Monkee4… You created a fun, well designed, competitive yet fair racing environment. Nice!
Hot Lap Roster for this week
Monday: The River of the Sun by Funkee_Monkee4
Tuesday: Fortress by SergioChileno
Wednesday: Harbour Side by Smbradley
Thursday: Eastern Delight by supersonicsjm
Friday: JungleTwirl by NikiVv
Saturday: Mystery Track
Sunday: Mystery Track
Well there we have it. Week one under my belt and I’m looking forward to week two. Lots more to come (trust me) but we need your help. I’d love to see lots more tracks submitted to choose from. Lots more…, don’t make me beg,… ok, … please,… pretty please!
Have a great week everyone!
Mark
My Peoples. Coker here on another fine ModNation Monday. The fresh creations keep coming from all of you unbelievable folks in the MNR community, and we couldn’t be more proud.
New Driver
As I mentioned in last week’s blog, we’ve got a new member on Team MNR, and I’m very pleased to introduce you all to Mark Wilson, who will be taking over as our National ModMaster and taking the reigns of the MNR blog. Mark’s a good guy, so take good care of him. Trust me – he gets enough abuse from us around the office. And with that, the baton is passed.
The New Guy
Thank Jason. I’m VERY excited to join the MNR team. What a great game and what a great community of players and creators! Can’t Wait! (attempt at timely Bart Scott reference)
o.k. gang, here is a little about me…
I’m a huge gamer (no, not so much in stature thank you! 6’1” 225). I’ve been hooked on games since the early Atari 2600 days and have been lucky to own pretty much every gaming console since. Only the NEO-GEO escaped my grasp. But hey, you can now get those great NEO-GEO games on the PSN for less than $10 each! Good things come to those that wait huh?
Favorite PS3 games include: ModNation Racers (of course), PAIN, LittleBigPlanet 1&2, Uncharted 1&2, MLB 10, Rock Band 3, Sports Champions, COD Black Ops, Pure, Mass Effect 2, Crazy Taxi, The Last Guy, Rachet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Ghostbusters, Just Cause 2, Lego Star Wars, Warhawk and Madden 11.
Enough about me, let’s talk about you, the MNR fans. I am truly excited to see what WE can accomplish to make this community even more fun and lively than it already is. Every conversation I have had with members of the San Diego Studios MNR team has shown me how much this game means to them personally. They love this game and the community. I will do my very best for them and for you!
How’s this for a start…
The Helghast Invasion Begins Tomorrow!
In case you didn’t know Killzone 3 hits store shelves next month so we wanted to kick the month off right with a Mod and Kart forged in the fires of Helghan itself!
Be on the look out tomorrow, February 1st when you can get your hands on this Helghast Mod and Kart for $1.99.
Reminder – UNLOCK EVERYTHING! NOW!
Don’t forget that you can pick up the Career Unlock All key from the PSN Store $2.99. Now there’s nothing between you and super creator status.
MNR Creations of the Week
Whether you have created one track or one hundred tracks we want to see them all. That’s what this game is all about Play Create Share. Give it your best shot. Who knows, you just might see your creation featured in this weekly blog or your track may make it to the Hot Lap section of the game. Remember these key few points to help you get your creations noticed. No I.P., branded, or inappropriate content. Submit your tracks, mods or karts here. With the release of all the new parts packs, we expect to see your tracks with those new props in them.
Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: Celzeus Creator: WereJackal
Kart Name: Noir
Creator: WereJackal
WereJackal! Wow! This week I have found myself going back to look at your mod over and over again. So much artistic vision, detail, so bizarre, yet so beautiful at the same time. I was a little slow on the uptake on the mod’s name and then it hit me….duh. Great visualization! It’s obvious you didn’t just throw that one together on the fly. Great work! I’m stoked that my first review for mod of the week was this cool! I’m thinking you should build a track based around this character. With your unique eye I’d bet it would be a hit. Can you say “Hot Lap”? I’m not sure if the kart was part of the same dream (or late-night pizza-induced nightmare) but I know I’ll be seeing it in my sleep. Keep em’ coming! Keep em’ coming. You know where to find me!
Spotlight Track Of The Week
Track Name: Hong Kong Suey
Track Creator: atheistsw
Maybe its just me or maybe I’m experiencing a case of “beginners luck” here but my first week’s nominees are awesome! The Hong Kong Suey track is one of the better tracks I have ever played (too much too soon?). Honestly. I’m not sure what atheistsw does for a living but based on that track alone you should look into a career as a city planner or at least a high profile landscaper. The details such as palm frons hanging over balconies you are about to scale to the lush San Fran Lombard street-esq route on the way down to the finish brought a big smile to my face. Great use of elevation changes, no gimmicky traps or pitfalls and plenty of side routes that I drove just to take in more scenery. A+
Hot Lap Roster for this week
Continuing with the trend we started weeks ago this weeks Hot Lap roster features all new community created tracks.
Monday: Hong Kong Suey by atheistsw
Tuesday: Fault Lines by apricot-jam-IS
Wednesday: Sunset Temple Brawl by Lloyd2k4
Thursday: A Whales Tale by prob_alex
Friday: Oasis Assault by Pikminenco
Saturday: Bamboo 2: The Overgrowth by apricot-jam-IS (Sorry we missed your track last week, buddy. –Coker)
Sunday: Mystery Track
Greeting, ModNationals. Jason Coker here. Since this week’s special guest is late, let’s just jump right into it. Party Hardy is “fashionably late,” but he’s finally arrived!
Party Hardy includes the following creation parts:
You can pick up Party Hardy on the PSN Store starting this week for $0.99. Again, he apologizes for being so late, but considering that his skin is green and the dude’s wearing a lampshade as a hat, don’t you think the last party was pretty awesome?
New Kid On The Block
Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be introducing you to a new member of Team MNR who will be working with us and YOU to make the nation even better.
MNR Creations of the Week
Amazing creations in ModNation get shared every day and we are playing a ton of them. If you are interested in submitting your mod, kart or track to be a future “creation” of the week be sure to visit up on the official ModNation Community site and who knows? You might see your handy work on the PS Blog.
With the release of all the new parts packs, we want to see your tracks with those new props in them.
Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: Ultramod
Kart Name: Ultramod
Creator: Elnath10
Comment: I guess I’m just a sucker for a Mod (and Kart) in a matte black suite. This “Crusader’s” kart is the definition of tight and more than alright. Every viewing angle holds your attention. I especially love the subtle use of the glass side panel windows that play perfectly off the Kart’s matte finish. If I was being chased by this screamer, I would have to pull over and take some pictures! Elnath10 has to let us in on this Mod’s back-story. He looks like a pretty nice guy inside that ominous black suit. Come on Elnath10 – what’s the backstory here? Great work!
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: China Flow XE
Created by: xentrix74
Comment: Don’t get lulled into the beautiful scenery at the starting line or your miss the first of many XE-llently placed (bad pun intended) branching short-cuts that offer unique and rewarding passes. Track creator xentrix74 makes great use of the new Far East DLC (get yours now!) by building a city so diverse (Cherry Blossom Garden – Sea – Downtown) and beautiful that it made me want to just wander around in my Kart to take in the views (which I did… twice!). It’s not just about the looks, this track incorporates just about everything that makes a great race – Fair race-able lines, elevation changes, scenery changes and China Flow XE even seems to incorporate light/shadow into to the mix intentionally (not sure there but it deserves the benefit of the doubt!). I thank you xentrix74, now that I have experienced your city, I no longer feel the necessity to visit China. One more thing off my bucket list.
Hot Lap Roster for This Week
Continuing with the trend we started weeks ago, this week’s Hot Lap roster features all new community created tracks.

With the release of all the new parts packs, we want to see your tracks with those new props in them.
Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: Steampunk
Kart Name: Steampunk-mobile
Creator: Argetlam350
Coker’s Comment: Once again, we have a perfect pairing of a themed Mod and Mart. Steampunk is a perfect example of “neo-old school”, and the Steampunk-mobile looks like it would be right at home in an old school sci-fi movie. From the color scheme to Steampunk Mod’s arm and leg details to the perfectly appropriate decals on the Kart, this is all win. Kudos on the creativity. I really love how these are so amazing and eye catching without being flashy.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Sideway Summit
Created by: Matt-ac0n
Matt-ac0n Says: “A gem of a mountain run, intended as a sort of introduction course for beginning racers. Sideway Summit contains many staple features that will certainly be found in many other courses in their careers: Super Jumps, Devastators, Flame Vents, Mod Bots, an assortment of trap switches, and of course many Item Pods. For the more seasoned racers, Sideway Summit will provide a relatively down-to-basics, yet action-packed racing experience at a level that few “conventional” tracks could match. High-banked turns will sure help keep the speed and the pace of the races fast and frantic.”
Coker says: I agree with Matt-ac0n’s comments on this Track. It’s challenging if you know how to race well, but I think it’s fun and forgiving enough for newcomers. This is a very well-rounded Track (figuratively speaking), as it has ample drift opportunities, enough – but not too many – Item Pods, and features that force you to make tough choices such as whether or not to go under a Devastator in order to pick up a pod. I like this one a LOT for both Action Race and Time Trial.

We’ll catch you guys next week, but I hope we’ll see you in the ModSpot before then. We’re always around. Peace.
PS- Kelly from UFG says, “Hello.”
What up, folks. Coker here once again on MNR Monday. We’ve got some special guests coming to ModNation Racers this week. Also, the Far East Track Theme has been out for a few weeks now, and we want to celebrate some of the creations that have been published using it. As always, you guys are blowing us away for your creativity, and we want to show off some of the best this week.
Guess Who’s Coming to the Nation
Yep, you guessed it! Our good buddies Jak and Daxter are ready to rip the tracks to shreds in their fresh new Kart. These two are no strangers to racing (Remember Jak X anyone?) and now you can get their two Mods and their Kart for $2.49 starting this week. Download them from the PlayStation Store today, crush your opponents, and then tease them by repeatedly shouting, “You got spanked by an ottsel! You got spanked by an ottsel!”
A Glimpse Into The Future
Next week, pigskin fans must unite! Pack up the tailgater gear, paint your faces, and get ready to represent your favorite team in the Nation. The Super Fan cometh….
Also, for those of you who are looking to unlock all those stickers, accessories, Kart Bodies, and Tracks in the game, we may have something that will help.
OK, I have to stop now. I’ve said too much!
The Best In The East
We see what you all have been building with the Far East Track Theme, and it’s as good as we’d expected (and better in a lot of cases). Here are a few tracks that I particularly enjoyed:
Thanks for continuing to show us how creative you can be. Personally, I think the parts from the Far East Track Theme are absolutely beautiful, and I expect to see a lot more works of art out there. Good work, folks.
ModNation Creations of the Week
Amazing creations in ModNation get shared every day and we are playing a ton of them. If you are interested in submitting your mod, kart or track to be a future “creation” of the week be sure to visit up on the official ModNation Community site and who knows? You might see your handiwork on the PlayStation.Blog.
With the release of all the new parts packs, we want to see your tracks with those new props in them.
Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: Sun Dragon
Kart Name: Dragon Fire
Creator: Shelbot3000
Coker says: Aggressive and scary Mod. Aggressive and scary Kart. These two are a match made in….some place. The Sun Dragon Mod is almost “neato,” but there’s a little too much “menacing” in there for me not to consider it a threat. Plus, the guy is HUGE. I love the details on the Dragon Fire Kart, from the paint job to the appropriate accessories that fit the vibe of the Sun Dragon. Take to the track with this combo, and I don’t think anybody’s gonna be messing with you.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Bamboo Forest
Created by: apricot-jam-IS
apricot-jam-IS Says: “Journey through a lush bamboo forest and overgrown vegetation. In each section there are multiple paths to take and each are tested to not give too distinct an advantage. Often those that cut time take skill to navigate.”
Coker says: Wow. THIS is what I’m talking about when I say that the Far East Track Theme parts are beautiful. This Track is a work of art in a couple of ways. It’s extremely well designed, and the multiple paths make it a joy (and a challenge) to race again and again. On top of that, the Track is absolutely gorgeous. I’m a big fan of design that forces you to make split second decisions, and this has several such elements. There’s one shortcut that leads to what I’m calling a “skill shot” that will drive you nuts if you miss it, but it’s incredibly rewarding if you make it. I also love the spot in the track where you can choose between hitting the boost pad on the left or going for the item pods on the right. Stuff like that makes races a lot more interesting since you can make decisions based on where you are in the pack. I applaud you, apricot-jam-IS.

As you probably noticed, we weren’t able to get Party Hardy onto the PlayStation Store last week (WAAAYY too much partying for that guy), but he’ll be coming soon this month. Till next time, I’ll see you in the ModSpot. Peace.
Hey everybody. MNR Associate Producer Jason Coker here from the Nation. Welcome back to a new year full of new and exciting things for ModNation Racers. In the coming months, you’ll see more amazing Mods and Karts, more Packs, more Track Themes, and a magical key to Unlock All your wildest MNR Dreams…. I hope you had happy holidays. Now let’s jump into what’s happening this week
Ready to “Party Hardy” in 2011?
It’s a new year, and I imagine that some of you partied BIG this time, no? Well, if you did it anything like some people I know did (not me, of course….), you’re probably still recovering. So why not celebrate your condition with this week’s Mod, Party Hardy, the Mod who brings the party wherever he goes? Just back from an after hours soiree, Party Hardy comes with the following creation parts. :
Download Party Hardy from the PSN Store starting Tuesday, January 4th ($.99) and relive all those hard partying days that you can’t quite remember. …and bring me some aspirin, please.
Go East, Young Mod
Looks like you’ve been enjoying the Far East Track Theme. Just as we’d hoped, there are some really impressive creations out there using Far East parts, and you continue to blow us away with what you’re doing. Rest assured – There’s more to come.
ModNation Creations of the Week
Amazing creations in ModNation get shared every day and we are playing a ton of them. If you are interested in submitting your mod, kart or track to be a future “creation” of the week be sure to visit up on the official ModNation Community site and who knows? With the release of all the new parts packs, we want to see your tracks with those new props in them.
Mod and Kart of the Week
Mod Name: Resistence 3 Chimera
Kart Name: Resistance 3 ver 2
Creator: AMOCAT08
Coker’s Comment: Wow…. There’s a lot of attention to detail, a painstaking airbrushed look on the paint job, and clearly a lot of well thought out effort in this Mod and Kart. I can’t help but have an attitude when I drive this combo, and when the race is hot and heavy and I unleash that Hydra on the pack in from of me, propelling myself into the lead…..it’s magic. Bravo, AMOCAT08. Quality work here.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Arid Ciudad
Created by: TheQK
TheQK Says: “Start off in the sewers of a luxury desert city to end off in an arid wasteland. Fight your way back to the city through the desert using, shortcuts, weapons and boost.”
Coker says: Oh, HECK yes! To me, one of the more important aspects of game design is Risk VS Reward. And this Track exemplifies that in its design. For example, you can take your chances driving along the top of a narrow pipe with boost pads on it to reach the nutty jump at the end of it, or you can take the low road beneath it and pick up and item pod or two; you can take that downhill blind left turn tight and try to shave some time…. Well, I won’t spoil the discovery of racing this Track for you, but it is brilliantly designed, and in addition to being a great Track for competitive racing, it also provides a great opportunity to challenge yourself and improve your skills. I’m very impressed with this one.
Track Name: London Calling
Created by: athiestsw
Athiestsw says: “Take a tour of London’s West End, taking in Buckingham Palace, Green Park, The Ritz Hotel, St. James Sq, Picadilly Circus, Trafalgar Sq, Marble Arch and of course the iconic Big Ben. Watch out for modbots that police the wide highways and beware the final moving bridge that could quite easily ruin your perfect run at the last moment!
A track long in the making, this is a collaborative effort between myself and the legend that is puppethand666. If it wasn’t for his brilliantly OCD attention to detail and ability to plan from scratch this track would have never been. Plus he made an awesome avant-garde representation of Big Ben and the Houses Of Parliament”)
Coker says: I learned three things from racing on this track. 1) It’s awesome. 2) I really need to get to London (preferably in a racing Kart). 3) I hate Modbots. Brilliantly put together, this Track is a beautiful blend of nail-biting moments mixed with victory shout-inducing moments. There are huge jumps, nice drift opportunities, shortcuts that keep things fresh, and plenty more that make this a must-race Track. Check it out, and you will NOT be disappointed.

Mod of the Week
Mod Name: COMPOSITE SANTA
Creator: lowrider1-23
Ramone says: I’ve never really thought of Santa as a “cool” guy. Friendly? Sure. Jolly? No doubt. Generous? …on those rare occasions when I acted right as a kid, I guess… But this half Santa/half Snowman composite looks downright cool. I can see this Mod cruising the planet in a drop top toe leave kids presents and then parking the ride so he can go fight crime.
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: COMPOSITE SANTA KART
Creator: lowrider1-23
Ramone says: Remember that ride I was talking about? This is it. You can’t be a crime-fighting, present-delivering, half Santa/half Snowman stack of awesome without an appropriate whip. Complete with holiday lights, snowflakes, and an airbrushed image of its two-face driver, this is all badness all the time.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to ModNation’s YouTube channel email them to ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Modopolis
Created by: Underdisc
Underdis says: “This track is likely the most strong of my six tracks. My goal was to make a track all Modnation racers could enjoy! For people who are just beginning to play the game and for the pros of the game! With this track I think I have met that goal, because I have been going to many casual game rooms, and I tested the track with others and I got their own suggestions on how I could make the track better. I have taken in all the suggestions and with those suggestions I made this track a king! While racing with others online, everyone thought the track was great as well, even with the mistakes. It has also been tested by myself a lot as well, in time trial mode.
The purpose of this track, is to travel through Modnation. A racer will begin at the Modnation seaside, and travel through a small park, the city, carnival, country-side, and the old town of Modnation. Once a racer has gone through the old town, they will jump over the carnival. Now is time to show off your skills in mid-air, and try to avoid the Ferris Wheel, and Salt and Pepper ride. This jump will lead to a little trail that puts the racer back on the beach. When you are racing on this track you should be looking at the screen 100% of the time, and you should never lose your focus, and that was another one of my goals with this track, because it makes the track much more fun to race on, and I hope I have succeeded in doing this. This track also includes props from the stunt and carnival pack. ENJOY, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!”
Ramone says: I dug this track from that first downhill corkscrew. Once I’d drifted through that and came out in the pack at the bottom, I had enough Boost to get my sideswipe on, and I was the leader. There’s a lot of eye candy in this track, and I especially enjoy it when big jumps have some obstacles to avoid, making them more than just a simple spin opportunity. This is a well thought out track, and the action is fierce in Action Races.
Track Name: Elite Santa’s Toy Factory
Created by: RockToonz
RockToonz says: “HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas to all Modnation Community… This track is awesome for action and pure racing because there is so many obstacles and you will experience what looks like to be inside Santa’s Toy Factory… You will also see santa’s reindeers and his sleigh and take note it’s huge! i mean really HUGE!! hehe Enjoy!!!
Ramone says: Learn this track before you try to compete on it. I was a little confused at first, but once I got it, I had a crazy good time with this one. RockToonz never disappoints, and this track is no exception. As the name implies, it’s chock full of toys and all sort os hazards to keep your laps challenging, but it’s got such a festive look and feel that you can’t help but love it even when things don’t go well. Bravo, RockToonz. You have some serious Track creation skills.

Mod of the Week
Mod Name: Kratos Sackboy
Creator: Toasterscribble
Jason Coker says: This is a sweet tribute to the man in chains. He’s got that Sackboy texture, but with the Kratos attitude. Still, at risk of insulting a guy with the power of the Gods, he sure is cute.
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: Wide Ride
Creator: FuzzyEdges
Jason Coker says: Flashy without being over the top. That’s a tough balance to maintain, but this Kart does it well. The detail is there, but it’s not all over the place, which adds a lot of class to the old school body. Hey FuzzyEdges, can you hook up some paint on my hybrid?
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Christmas Eve
Created by: C_Smith
Jason Coker says: Yes, yes, yes. I love to drift, and this Track is a drifter’s paradise. Loads of snaking curves give plenty of opportunities to get some boost, and various hazards and shortcuts keep the races competitive. Well done, C Smith.
Track Name: Amusement Park I
Created by: SergioChileno
Jason Coker says: Here’s how I imagine a conversation between me and SergioChileno about this Track –
Me: Dude, are you kidding me?
SergioChileno: No, not kidding.
Me: Hold on – Clown pop-ups AND the K-Wrecks? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?
SergioChileno: No, not kidding. Also, I just beat you.
This track is potentially frustrating, but well worth it when you dodge this or that obstacle just right. I raced this one until my fingers went numb. Good stuff.

Track Name: Elite Festival
Created by: RockToonz
RockToonz says: This Track is a Thanksgiving gift for the ModNation community. The new Carnival props are awesome, and I think only the ticket boot prop is not included in my track. If you want a Bowling Game this is the track for you! This is very good for action races hope you like it all.
Ramone says: This track makes great use of the carnival pack and really has the feel of a state fair. The track is so awesome it’s in the Hot Lap Roster this week as well.
Track Name: Drillbit’s Const. Yard
Created by: Manlius 10A
Manlius 10A says: In celebration of my track Wildcard’s Stadium making track of the week this week, I decided to submit my second track of the stunt series. This is another simple yet fun track that offers plenty of earthen jumps, intersection points, traps, and mod bots without being cluttered. Last I checked this track had a solid five stars in-game (after a good amount of plays and downloads as well), so this may be my best track yet! Enjoy!
Ramone says: Manlius 10A’s Wilcard Stadium track was awesome enough that we decided to put another one of his creations in the track showcase for this week. Make sure to check out Drillbit’s Construction Yard, it’s another well balanced track and the traps are a nice touch.

Packtacular Creations
So, we’ve got two Packs out now, and you guys just keep getting more and more creative and impressive with the Tracks you’re publishing. Every week, we’re blown away by the creations we see. One of the best things about developing software is seeing the community take something far beyond the team’s original vision, and that what you guys continue to do. The more tools you have to create with, the more imaginative and mind-blowing your creations are, so with that said…..
Attack Of The Holiday Pack
As I just mentioned, you’ve done some incredible things with the Stunt Pack, and the Carnival Pack creations are rolling in and looking amazing. Well, we love what you’re doing, and we’re going to keep it coming, but this time with a Holiday twist. Starting tomorrow (US PSN/ EU PSN on Wednesday), you can add some Holiday spirit to your tracks with the Holiday Pack! The pack is $4.99, and it includes the following parts:
This holiday season, give yourself the gift of awesome tracks.

Mod of the Week
Mod Name: PANIC PHANTON
Creator: leonnaoexiste
Ramone says: Have you ever had your butt kicked by an Ninja/Owl/Angel? Neither have I, and I don’t want to. That’s precisely why I wouldn’t mess with this Mod. It somehow looks weird, menacing, and soothing all at the same time. It makes me want to meditate, kick box, and swoop on a field mouse. Is it just me?
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: Star Spangled Racing Kart
Creator: chilango70
Ramone says: It doesn’t get much more patriotic than this. If you can spank all of your opponents on the track with this Kart, I salute you. In addition to the all-American color scheme, this ride has some classic lines for a sort of old school meets new school look, and the extra texture detailing in the white is a nice touch. Love your country, love your Modion.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube Channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Wildcard’s Stadium
Created by: Manlius10A
Manlius10A says: “This track beckons back to a simpler day of Kart racing when mud and bumps on a simple track made for a fun race enjoyed by everyone. This track has a few earthen made tabletop jumps as well as larger jumps! The visuals as well as the layout of the track are simple and easy to comprehend. I have been working on this track since July, but just couldn’t get the proportions right for laying the track until recently. I am very happy with the outcome.
Wildcard’s Stadium is the first track to my stunt series, and it is also my first track where I utilize modbots and a number of the traps the game offers. I have used a few of the stunt pack props on this track as well. This track is a lot of fun!!”
Ramone says: Yeah, Manilus10A. Nicely done. This is challenging, curvy, bumpy, and has multiple split paths, but it’s CLEAN, which is refreshing. There are hazards, but they’re well thought out, and the visual touches on the terrain add a touch of class. I love this one for Action Racing and Time Trial because just the tiniest change in driving style can make a huge difference.
Track Name: Jungle Rush
Created by: Smbradley
Smbradley says: “Ok here’s my latest track, it’s called Jungle Rush and as you can probably guess it’s situated in a Jungle! The race takes place through a tribal village, past some ancient ruins (where there’s also a big jump shortcut) and a big waterfall (which I couldn’t have built without the advice of atheistsw, Barberian912 and prob_alex).”
Ramone says: OK, I admit that I’m biased here – I love the Jungle Theme, I love wide S curve sections that give me cool drift and boost opportunities, and I love big air. This track has all those things and then some. On top of being crazy fun to race, it’s also gorgeous. All those trees whooshing by really adds to the sense of speed. This one is going to be in my heavy rotation for a while.

Mod & Kart of the Week
Mod Name: MNR Police Officer
Kart Name: MNR Police Pursuit
Creator: decrates
Ramone says: This little dude looks pretty cool. He’s clean all the way down to his detailed white gloves, and I get the distinct feeling that he’s ALL business. Coincidentally, he kind of resembles one of the guys at United Front Games…Decrates also made the perfect kart complement to MNR Police Officer in the MNR Police Pursuit. From the “To Boost And Drift” motto on the sides to the “Pull Over” message in front for any unlucky Mod’s rear view mirror, the detail and precision on this one are top notch. I really, really dig this Kart.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Elite Theme Park
Created by: RockToonz
RockToonz says: “This track has seven unique Elite Challenges, uses the Theme Park environment, and is good for Hot Lap and Track of the Week (action races)… Try it and you decide!
Ramone says: I’ve heard of underground racing, but I’d never really heard of race tracks with underground race hazards. You’ll just have to give try this track out to see what I mean. This track has got some awesome uses of the Stunt Pack, and I always love it when there are cool drift and jump opportunities that also involve risks. There’s a great, wide turn to get your Boost on, but it’s littered with flaming clowns that you’ll have to work around, and the big jump needs to be navigated in order to avoid obstacles and/or collect pods. I had nightmares after racing this one. I dreamed that I was about to jump a ramp and a mechanical dinosaur came up out of the ground to eat me. Well played, RockToonz. …well played.
Track Name: Venom Pit
Created by: MightyDeuce
OverReAction says: “Created this track based around a pit of snakes, modeling using blocks and a few other props for eyes and detail. The track itself is an up and down twisting track designed for great racing and drifting. Track also incorporates two big jumps and a sprinkling of pods. There are no shortcuts in this one as I wanted the races to be as close and hard fought as possible. Thanks for looking.”
Ramone says: I should’ve known by the title that this might not be the track for me. The track is crazy fun, with some really good zig-zagging drift opportunities, but once I hit those jumps and got a bigger sweeping view of the track, the ophidiophobia kicked in and things got creepy. Look it up. It’s no fun on a track like this. This is a great one, though. Great for Action or Time Trial, this is one of those tracks that makes a perfect run achievable without being easy.

Dodge clowns, get big air with Bounce Pads, and jump over or “through” a Ferris wheel — The Carnival Pack lets you do it all.
Scared of clowns?
“Doing Donuts” just got a new meaning.
Included in the Carnival Pack are 13 parts listed below.
Scene Props
Dynamic Props
Track Props

ModNation Creations of the Week
Amazing creations in ModNation get shared every day and we are playing a ton of them. If you are interested in submitting your mod, kart or track to be a future “creation” of the week be sure to visit up on the official ModNation Community site and who knows, you might see your handiwork on the PlayStation.Blog.
Mod of the Week
Mod Name: “Flipside”
Creator: Icandy55
Ramone says: This Mod is a lot like a mullet hairstyle – business in the front, party in the back. Of course, that if by “business” you mean “normal face” and by “party” you mean giant skull face tattoo. It’s kind of weird to be stared at by that face while driving, but that’s good work.
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: “Dragon Eye”
Creator: blizzardmx-5
Ramone says: This Kart is a bit deceptive. It looks fairly simply, but that’s precisely why it shines. The airbrushed dragon eyes on the sides are killer, and the claw marks on the front are a really nice touch. It’s even got a little tail on the back doors. Very well done.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel, email ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: “On the Waterfront…”
Created by: atheistsw
atheistsw says: “A frantic dash through a vast harbour area after-hours…There are a multitude of shortcuts on this track, all with their own risk vs reward, and one huge shortcut that is so effective it only opens up on the final lap. Be on the look for it as you dash through the dockyard area…”
Ramone says: Oh, man! Choose your shortcut carefully on this one. Athiestsw was downright cold blooded on one shortcut in particular on this track. If you manage to make it through the pop-up columns that block this shortcut, you’ll be greeted by a narrow passage guarded by a bot with an attitude along with a bit of HOT FYAH to keep you on your toes before you can make a nice big jump with a good spin opportunity. Is it worth it? Give it a shot, and you tell me.
Track Name: “Mountain Switchbacks”
Created by: OverReAction
OverReAction says: “This majestic mountain track was built for some sweet mountain ride. I’d say it’s one of my random tracks. I was bored though. Also, to all newbie’s out there, I’ll show you how the Track Branches really work!”
Ramone says: I can’t help but wonder if OveReAction’s PSN ID is supposed to be ironic. Imagine my overreaction when I had some boost, hit R1 to activate that trigger on the shortcut, slipped past the wall that had dropped, launched off the ramp, flew through the air past the hungry K-Wrecks, only to find that…. Well, I won’t ruin it for you, but that wasn’t a nice thing to do. This is a really fast and well thought out track with lots of blind corners after hills that you’ll have to be careful about navigating and make some quick calls. Fun stuff.

Mod of the Week
Mod Name: Brain
Creator: omaxmilean
I don’t think I ever want to be as smart as this Mod. His brain is spilling out the top of his dome, and the gaping mouth and googly eyes are quite freaking when I’m in a race and he looks over his shoulder. Good stuff. Weird….but good.
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: Breast Cancer Awareness
Creator: kilious1
The paint job on this puppy is impressive, but the cause is even moreso. You can’t not appreciate this Kart.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to ModNation Racer’s YouTube channel, email ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com, and we will include them in the blog post if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Elite Carnival
Created by: RockToonz
RockToonz says: “This track will give you five elite obstacles/challenges that will prevent you from racing smoothly. Most of them are new props and will give an experience of a fun and enjoyment… SO i DARE you to race this!!! >: ) Enjoy!!!”
Ramone says: Holy mechanical dinosaur attacks!! This track is awesome! As if perfecting a drift through a gauntlet of fire-spitting, Kart-crunching K-Wreckses weren’t enough of a challenge, there’s a massive jump that allows for some amazing spins, but only if you can avoid those evil Flaming Pendulum Choppers. Once you’re on the ground, you’ve got to manage some ugly tilting platforms before you can wrap a lap. I think one’s fun for both Time Trials and Action Races.
Track Name: Hill House Haunt
Created by: Manlius10A
Manlius10A says: “Unfortunately, I missed the Halloween contest deadline, but this is my Halloween track, which starts as a winding road leading to stately yet ominous mansion. Once under the mansion, the track bends right into a dense and confusing hedge maze. There are three alternate routes in the hedge maze (all within 2 seconds of each other). The hedge maze paths descend into dark passages and tunnels underneath the estate (custom made). The tunnels open up to a haunted swamp with alligators, shallow marsh waters, and multiple routes. After the swamp, the track finishes in a creepy cemetery!”
Ramone says: Wow, there’s a lot to love here. Shortcuts, narrow, winding stretches, a swampy bayou section… What’s not to enjoy about this track? I must warn you, though – learn run it a few times before you try to compete on it. When the racing is hot and heavy, it can be easy to get turned around (particularly in the swamp). Good luck on this one, Nation.
Track Name: Altago City
Created by: apricot-jam-IS
Apricot-jam-IS says: “A fun fantasy city track with lots of shortcuts to explore. You will choose between three paths to take near the beginning. All paths will join again later and each has their advantages. Don’t forget to take in the beauty of your surroundings as you blaze through the track.”
Ramone says: I love how (mostly) wide open this track is. One of the first things you’ll run into is a choice between going left or right. A little insider info – Left will send you to some killer drift opportunities, and right will put you on a wild shortcut through some jumps and narrow paths to more jumps and eventually a CRAZY jump from which you can spin to your heart’s content. Get all the Boost you can on this one because you’re gonna need it. Action? Yep. Pure? Yep. Time Trial? Yep. A good all around track.

The Buddy System
There’s a lot to be said for having a friend, and having a friend by your side on exciting intergalactic adventure after exciting intergalactic adventure has GOT to be something special. That’s exactly what next week’s Mods have in each other. That’s right, folks – The Ratchet and Clank Mods will be on the PlayStation Store next Tuesday, November 9th. Get ‘em and race ‘em, and you will be made of win.
Kratos Tomorrow!
Don’t forget that Kratos and his Kart hit the PlayStation Store tomorrow, November 2nd!
Stunt Pack is Still Free!
It’s been a week since we released the Stunt Pack for free, folks, and there are already some pretty amazing tracks out there. If you haven’t downloaded it yet, it will be free for one more week. After Tuesday, November 9th, you’ll have to buy it, so go get it now and start making some killer tracks! Here are a few of the tastier tracks that feature parts for the Stunt Pack during the first week o’ free:
Track: Stunt Track
Created By: ripper 171
This is a nice short track with lots of accurate line challenges. I really enjoy running Time Trials on this one.
Track: The Amazing Stunt Arena
Created By: OveReAction
Another fun track for Time Trial runs, this one has one of the more frustrating tilting platform sections I’ve seen. It’s infuriating to fail that section, but when you hit it just right and glide through unscathed…OH, what a feeling!
Track: Market Place Racers
Created By: Natedawg18
This is a nice track to race on, with multiple alternate paths and just enough boost pads, drift opportunities, and air to keep things interesting and competitive. There’s some precision required to really crush it on this one, but it’s also ”loose” enough for just about anyone to jump into and have a blast.
MNR Halloween themed creations contest winners!
Contest winners will be notified via their PSN accounts.
Mod Name: Dalmat (wolfman)
Creator: Elnath10
This is one of the cooler Mods around, with abs only slightly less ripped than my own. Excellent use of hair props, and the torn up shorts are perfect.
Kart Name: Candy Corn Kart
Creator: Miss_Broccoli
This Kart has the benefit of being super Halloween-y and fun without being creepy at all. With that body style and the smooth light purple color, I would rock this Kart any day of the year. Plus, who doesn’t like candy corn?
Track Name: P&B Pumpkin Patch
Created by: A PH1LThy31 & CIV_BOSS Collaboration
CIV_BOSS says “What better for Halloween than a pumpkin patch! This is the second track PH1LThy31 and I have done together. Race Through P&B farms where you will see frightening things! Giant pumpkins throwing barrels. Giant spiders (also throwing barrels) Race through the store front and into the actual pumpkin patch itself. Find the fastest way around the silos but watch out for the giant spiders. You can make the spiders spit barrels at the other racers with the trigger pads. Find your way over and under irrigation pipes. Many routes and secrets make this track a challenge to master but fun for even the.

Mod of the Week
Mod Name: The Wicked Witch of the South
Creator: race2winnet
She’s green, she’s got a pointy chin to match her pointy hat, and she’s got a big black wart on her big pointy nose. I don’t know what there is to love about this Mod, but I love it.
Kart of the Week
Kart Name: Pumpkin Sportscar
Creator: DamnBoxes
The rounded wheel wells on the concept body are PERFECT for this Kart. The paint job is clean and simple, which is why it works so well. Add in the appropriately colored engine and that little sprig of grass in the middle of the windshield, and you’ve got a smooth, smooth, Halloween ride.
Track of the Week
If you have a video(s) of your track submit them to MNR’s YouTube channel by emailing ModNation@Playstation.Sony.com and we will include them in the blog if your track is showcased.
Track Name: Warp Drive
Created by: Laidbackcat
The bluish hue of this track gives it a really cool sci-fi feel. There are some nice elevated strips of track with curves in them that make for some pretty intense racing moments. It was an awesome feeling to actually sideswipe an opponent off the track on one of those tight turns. There are a couple of confusing sections in this track, so try to get a few practice runs in before you compete here.
