During a talk at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona, EA CEO Andrew Wilson noted that the publisher is leveraging opportunities to create free-to-play games for Brazil. Among the two properties Wilson said the publisher is actively considering for the region was a new game using the UFC license, as Brazil is home to a strong fanbase for mixed martial arts.

Additionally, Wilson said the company has plans to launch FIFA Online World in Brazil and Russia leading up to the 2014 FIFA World Cup event slated to take place in Brazil. The free-to-play game is built on the same technology as FIFA Online 3, which EA will bring to China after having already launched it in Korea with Nexon as its publishing partner.

"We are absolutely looking at [Brazil] in detail, and we think we have at least two, but likely more products that will have strong appeal there," Wilson said.

Tonight, Uriah Hall faces Kelvin Gastelum in the middleweight final of The Ultimate Fighter. Hall is an up-and-comer in top flight mixed martial arts, thought to be a contender in a middleweight division whose title holder is Anderson Silva, one of the best fighters in the world. But how Hall got to this stage is even more remarkable. His training regimen included Tekken. That's according to Hall himself in this video, a feature by Vice magazine's Fightland section. He impressed observers in a tryout who wanted to know where he developed his moves. "I said, 'I never trained before.' I was embarrassed to say that I played Tekken all day, copied the moves and that’s how I learned." Tekken may be stylized combat but some of its moves are faithful to real-world fighting styles. Hall, obviously, isn't talking about practicing combos IRL, more that the animations—and watching them repeatedly—helped him visualize something he wished to do in real life. And he does that very well. At 1:00 of this video you can see him flatten Adam Cella with a spinning heel kick to the kisser in the third episode of The Ultimate Fighter, on Feb. 5. "I’d go into practice mode and have the computer just spar me back and forth like regular training. I would just keep playing until I see something that I'd do or I like, and I would just pick up on it. For me, I don't know, visually it was almost as if my body just adjusted to it, so when it came time to spar moves that I would see would come back, like that! “Every time I would see a cool move on Tekken, I would just practice it till I got good at it. When I did it in training people said, ‘what the hell is that!’” Cella would have said that, if he had been conscious. The Ultimate Fighter Finale is tonight at 9 p.m. EDT and PDT on FX. According to THQ's Fiscal 2011 third quarter report, the forthcoming motion-centric title UFC Personal Trainer has been moved out of the company's "March quarter" launch window and "into fiscal 2012" (starting April 1, 2011). A press release noted that the company's new financial projections, as mentioned in the report, are a reflection of "the move of UFC Personal Trainer into fiscal 2012."

During a financial call directly after the release, company prez and CEO Brian Farrell pins the game for a June release. Plenty of time to build that octagon in your living room!

EA Sports associate producer Jeff Ecker is totally confident that EA Sports MMA 2 will become a reality at some point. Speaking with Figure Four, Ecker didn't even spend a second beating around the bush and directly stated, "There is definitely going to be an EA Sports MMA 2." Ecker even characterized the sequel's launch not as an "if" but a "when."

EA Sports MMA reportedly only moved 45K units in its first month at US retailers. EA Sports' Fight Night: Champion is already set for a 2011 launch, so you'll be able to beat up friends relentlessly via EA Sports, even if the company doesn't return to the octagonal mat quite so soon.
