They would survive and adapt easily, or at least that's what deviantART artist Kasami-Sensei's artwork suggests. He put several Disney characters into the Walking Dead universe, making all the appropriate changes. It's weird to see Anna from Frozen with an M4 carbine, but you can't survive otherwise.Read more...
This week, you'll save on undead content on Xbox Live. Well, the content is inanimate, but it's about undead things. That includes Zombie Apocalypse, Zombie Driver HD, All Zombies Must Die, avatar and Gamerpic sets from Black Ops Zombies, and, for some reason, the Dead Rising 2 Ninja Skills Pack. They're all half off until the 18th. NBA 2K13 and its extras are also half off, unrelated to the zombie thing.
There's also a bunch of stuff on Games on Demand today, including everything from the high profile Kinect Disneyland Adventures to the all but forgotten Quantum Theory.
When the zombie apocalypse is over and you're burning the decomposed, emaciated bodies of your friends and family in the smoldering wasteland of your former neighborhood, you'll most likely want an illustrated reminder of the horrific events that led you there. Amazon has you covered with its Dead Island pre-order exclusive, a digital art book featuring the undead, the survivors and scenery from the game. So you never forget.

Max Brooks' World War Z is one of the best books about zombies ever written, using the subject of a zombie apocalypse not as a chance to stage a few cheap scares, but to rewrite the history of the world. More »
Well, it's the second Monday in January, meaning it's time to kick off the 31st Annual Zombie Awareness Week. (They're everywhere, you know!) Microsoft's doing its part, marking down Left 4 Dead 2's "The Passing" DLC and many other undead items this week on Xbox Live Marketplace.
Ubisoft's time-traveling shmup, Zeit 2, is the lone game listed in Major Nelson's latest list of upcoming Xbox Live Arcade releases. If that doesn't quite sate your gaming appetite, Live is also throwing a random "Back from the Dead" promotion by cutting the price of Zombie Apocalypse and The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai to 400 Points ($5) each. Plants vs. Zombies will continue the promotion the following week by going on sale for 800 Points ($10).
Next week will also discount "more than 25 pieces" of DLC from Activision, including Call of Duty map packs, Guitar Hero songs and Arcade games. EA will get its chance starting January 18, with an equally vague promise of "one-time savings" on EA "content." For the full schedule of Xbox Live releases, check past the break.
Gamerbytes has compiled a list of several Xbox Live Arcade games and their performance in the first half of 2010 based on data derived from leaderboards.
First, there are the top performers: Trials HD apparently had the biggest user base, jumping from 600,000 players to over a million during the first half of 2010 (not counting its DLC, which had almost 300,000 players over that period). But how about games that launched this year? Well, Perfect Dark enlisted 265,000, and Toy Soldiers and its DLC managed to recruit a combined 346,000 players. Risk: Factions and Snoopy Flying Ace have yet to reach 100,000.
Other games didn't fare so well, with several failing to capture the attention of even 1,000 users -- Voodoo Dice, Ben 10 and Fret Nice were near or below that mark -- and of the 24 new games that Gamerbytes catalogued, only 13 managed to reach 10,000 players.
Seeing how deals and promotions affected the growth of user bases on older titles is particularly interesting in the case of Zombie Apocalypse and TMNT: ReShelled, both of which came darn close to doubling their respective audiences when discounts were applied.
Eventually, this is all going to come to an end. There won't be any more Xbox Live and the world will be overrun by the undead. It's, like, scientifically proven and stuff. In the meanwhile, game it up -- and what better to play than Zombie Apocalypse, a game that teaches you how to kill your inevitable enemy, the undead!
Major Nelson is the individual who turned us on to this week's Xbox Live deal, which sees 50 percent of the price for Konami's end-of-days sim gnawed off for all Gold members, bringing it down to a more manageable 400 ($5). Hopefully this will allow more of us to receive the vital training we'll all need someday.

Seriously, guys? Everyone on the planet runs out and buys Modern Warfare 2 and you're still playing Call of Duty 4 and World at War? We can understand you folks who chose to play Halo 3 -- the whole Modern Warfare 2 experience may not be your idea of a good time -- but Major Nelson's Xbox Live activity chart for the week of November 9 simply vexes us.
In less puzzling news, the XBLA activity is along the lines of something we're used to seeing. Trials HD remains atop the list, followed by Castle Crashers and South Park Let's Go Tower Defense Play. Konami's Zombie Apocalypse also managed to survive the gauntlet and make its way onto the list and, combined with the recent release of Left 4 Dead 2, we feel mankind is finally starting to reach acceptable levels of preparation for the inevitable future of a world plagued by the undead.
As our more astute readers likely gathered from this very post's headline, another week has gone, so it's about time we checked in with Major Nelson to see what made his list of the most-played games on Xbox Live. Unsurprisingly, Bungie's dynamic duo of Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST managed to do well, taking the first and third spots, respectively -- Call of Duty 4 was in the second slot, while Forza 3's demo managed to get some play time on folks' boxes, taking a tight turn into the seventh place spot. On the XBLA side, Trials HD did backflips to the top of the list, beating out recent releases Zombie Apocalypse and Bust-A-Move Live!. The remainder of the XBLA list saw favorites Battlefield 1943 and Shadow Complex rounding out the remainder of the top five.

Xbox Live's Major Nelson reports that three new titles are releasing on Xbox Live this week. Whether you're looking forward to some gang justice, surviving the undead or going all Einstein on some microscopic particles, rest assured there's something here for you. This Wednesday's offerings are:
The Warriors: Street Brawl 800 ($10)
Zombie Apocalypse 800 ($10)
Ion Assault 800 ($10)
So, whatcha downloadin'?
Though it may lack the ever-catchy soundtrack of another recently released, undead-centric twin stick shooter, we're still pretty pumped for Nihilistic Software's Zombie Apocalypse. Imagine our rapture when a recent news post on the developer's blog revealed that the title will be landing on XBLA and PSN next Wednesday and Thursday (respectively) for 800 ($10). If you lack imagination, we'll clue you in -- our rapture was immeasurable.
Not only does this seem like the perfect training manual for the actual, inevitable zombocalypse, but it's a great refresher course on undead genocide before the year's more substantial zombie-action game comes out.
