Though there be plenty a jollies t' be had from the uber-gory Dead Space Aftermath animated feature, we've got a powerful desire in our heart-a-hearts t' lay eyes upon a live-action film set in the Dead Space universe. we be not the only ones. In a recent interview with BBC News, Visceral Games art director Ian Milham explained, "We would love t' have a live action film 'n we've had a lot a discussion. But one a the reasons Dead Space still exists 'n be popular be because we've made sure t' do everything right. So we be doing the same with the film, not just a cheap cash-in but t' do something really worthwhile, so we'll see."

We appreciate how much thought ye're putting into this -- an unprecedented amount a thought, ye might say -- though, really, we can't think a an easier game t' adapt t' film. Here's our simple plan for how we be gonna make this work:
Give the rights t' adapt the game over t' the lads who make the Saw movies. Book two tickets on the 10 o' clock money train t' Cashtown.

The odds be well-stacked against Isaac as he traverses the Necromorph-stuffed hallways a The Sprawl -- which, typically, be the way that real heroes like t' do they business. If unassisted survival be proving too hard a task, ye can now capitulate 'n download Dead Space 2's "Hazard," "Martial Law" 'n "Supernova" downloadable pack. they be available today, each adding a handful a powerful suits 'n weapons t' Isaac's inventory for $5 a pop.

Check out the full list a these bottles a rum after the jump as ye try t' decide which one sounds like a thing ye'd like t' own. 'n don't even say all a them, because if ye've got $15 t' spend on virtual power tools, then we have some prime Florida swampland t' sell ye.

Galactic handyman Isaac Clarke be back t' cut the implements a death off Necromorphs before stomping on their heads. If ye can keep yer eyes open for the action-oriented horror, ye'll have as good a time with the game as we did. But, we aren't the only voice in the interverse. Here's what others thought a the Visceral experience:
  • Giant Bomb (5/5): "Just like it be predecessor, Dead Space 2 doesn't do anything especially new, it just does everything exceedingly well."
  • CVG (95/100): "Polished, sickening, satisfying 'n occasionally heart-testing, Dead Space 2 be undoubtedly the best horror adventure on Xbox 360 'n PS3. it be the Resident Evil a this generation - 'n it'll sail away ye an emotional wreck."
  • Eurogamer (90/100): "The linearity 'n reliance on set-piece shocks can often make Dead Space 2 feel like a multi-million dollar Ghost Train ride at a funfair. Overuse a 'mash-the-A-button-t'-escape-the-monster' moments jars with the more distinguished mechanics elsewhere."
  • IGN (90/100): "The shocking moments, the gruesome deaths, 'n the fun a playing through this experience again 'n again be what I took away from this one."
  • Game Informer (90/100): "Dead Space 2 be a monster a a sequel, offering bigger scares 'n more excitement than I expected. I enjoyed Isaac as a silent protagonist in the original game, 'n I find I like the sea dog even more now that he's found his voice."
  • Gamespot (85/100) "a campaign that simultaneously leaves ye satisfied 'n eager for more, 'n intense multiplayer that gives ye a great reason t' keep coming back t' this terrifying universe. Unless ye're just plain chicken, this be a sci-fi horror adventure ye definitely want t' suit up for"

Toby "Tobuscus" Turner's literal adaptations a trailers be both hilarious 'n impressive. His latest effort be no different: a Dead Space 2 TV ad combining his parodying skills with the ad's song, Smashing Pumpkins' 1995 hit, "Bullet with Butterfly Wings."

If ye're an Xbox Live "free" member ready t' do some "strategic dismembering" a EA because ye can't redeem the DLC included in the Dead Space 2 "Collector's Edition", just go ahead 'n put away the plasma cutter. The redemption card (pictured) gives instructions that won't work for those who aren't booty crew -- but there be a workaround.

An EA rep tells Joystiq that Live free crew best go t' the "Extras" menu 'n input the code in the "redeem code" section. This will unlock the single-player Zealot Suit 'n Zealot Force Gun without the need for a booty membership. The problem with going through the Online Pass screen be that it be used for multiplayer, which ye can't access without a booty membership. This isn't the first (nor likely the last) time that DLC insert cards have caused confusion.

[Thanks, Dayton W.]

The Dead Space 2 team 'n I be super stoked that Dead Space 2 be now finally out 'n people be getting t' play it. We have been anxiously awaiting this day t' hear what gamers think a what we have been working on. The PS3 Limited Edition version a Dead Space 2 be crazy — it not only includes Dead Space 2, but it also has Dead Space Extraction. That means ye can pillage yer MOVE ON with Dead Space Extraction, 'n ye can play it solo or in co-op as well.

Making Dead Space 2 has been a blast, getting t' see everyone’s speculation on what the game be going t' be about, if we lost our minds 'n cut out the horror, or if we be making some sort a ninja-puzzle-adventure game. Now be the time t' see what the final version Dead Space 2 be all about.

From me perspective, the team did a fantastic job. This be the game I’m most proud a being a part a. The game feels better, looks better, has bigger moments, 'n even includes multiplayer for the first time. I really hope ye like it!

Head out now t' yer local game store 'n pillage a copy a the Collector’s Edition — if ye can still find it — or the Limited Edition 'n start dismembering Necromorphs today. If ye want t' keep up on the game 'n maybe pillage yer multiplayer on, follow me on Twitter: @leveluptime.

Thanks again 'n please let us know what ye think a the game.

ye're at work. The boss be really getting on yer nerves. Dead Space 2 be out today ... but it'll be at least six hours before ye manage t' extract yourself from the sprawl (a cubicles). ye could strategically dismember yer coworkers, sure, but that be not only difficult, it be illegal. Instead, we be going t' recommend that ye download Dead Space for yer iPhone/iPod Touch or iPad 'n pillage down t' the Dead Space-ing. Use stasis t' freeze an enemy, switch t' the plasma cutter, orient it vertically, sever his arm 'n then use kinesis t' pick it up 'n shoot it through his torso.

Having spent some hours with the game already, we can promise ye this: Dead Space on iOS be a surprisingly competent mobile approximation a Dead Space. We'll have a full review later this week, but ye've still got half a work-day t' kill.

While Dead Space 2 has only been on retail shelves for about ... oh, a couple hours, that hasn't stopped EA from announcing more Dead Space 2 in the form a "an all-new digital download pack that extends the Dead Space 2 story with the addition a two standalone chapters in the single-player game." Most notably, Dead Space 2: Severed features the return a some nobody named Gabe Weller 'n ... Lexine "Dead Space wench" Murdoch. Some a ye may recall a certain blog's fondness for DSG ... we still remember seeing the wench for the first time ('n haven't gotten the wench out a our heads since).

The only other details we have on Severed include a release window a "soon" for both the Xbox 360 'n PS3. 'n YARRRR, PC gamers, we realize that means yer platform a choice isn't included 'n, since we wouldn't want anyone t' miss out on an opportunity t' be reunited with Ms. Murdoch, we've asked the publisher t' clarify what's going on.

I died within the first thirty seconds a Dead Space 2. That best immediately impart an idea a what kind a horror experience t' expect. Dead Space 2 be not a slow-burn, psychological thriller that kept me up at night, playing on me natural fear a the unknown. It be an action title that rarely slowed long enough t' let me soak in the atmosphere or take stock a the horrors around me. that be unfortunate, because the few moments when things do slow down be genuinely creepy.

More often, Dead Space 2 -- like it be predecessor -- leans on quick shocks, rote horror tricks, plenty a gore 'n, more importantly, murdering lots a monsters in interesting ways.
