I've played thousands of games over the years. And only once has a game ever given me a bonafide outbreak of goosebumps. Head-to-toe. It was during this past console generation, and it was while I was riding a horse.Read more...

I've already mentioned that I'm a big fan of the idea behind Codename Cygnus. The game is a choose-your-own-adventure radio drama for iOS that casts you as a spy in the 60s, complete with voice acting, sound effects, and likely more than a fair bit of intrigue. But a game like this is only as good as its voice cast.Read more...

Red Dead Redemption never made it to the PC. Grand Theft Auto V hasn't been announced for PC. Such sadness. But what's this? A personal computer-shaped rainbow on the horizon? Rockstar's Leeds studio recently posted a job opening for somebody to "help bring our latest titles to the PC platform". "Working together with the other Rockstar studios", the advert continued, "you will be responsible for maintaining the studio’s uncompromising quality bar, delivering the highest quality PC experience possible." It's since been pulled from the studio's site, but the internet, it never forgets. Given the timing it would seem this is geared towards perhaps GTAV, maybe even just games after GTAV, but you should never give up hope, PC gamers. Never give up hope. After all, Red Dead was the first big Rockstar game is a long time to not make it to PC. Leeds job posting hints at GTAV PC port [Rockstar Watch]

First teased earlier in the month, a 14-minute Red Dead Redemption movie is now ready for viewing. And it's...yeah. Put together by fans, it puts the map icon on "70s schlock tribute" and doesn't stop riding towards it the whole damn time. Red Dead Redemption Fan Film [YouTube]

A group of fans are putting a Red Dead Redemption movie together, and smartly, they're not doing the obvious. They're instead drinking from the same inspirational well as the series' developers (especially from the first Red Dead), combining a love for Spaghetti Westerns and a bit of the old ultra-violence into something that's as much a love letter to bad 70s cinema as it is Rockstar's epic. The full movie should be out next month. RED DEAD REDEMPTION live action Fan film (Full Trailer) [YouTube, via Gamefreaks]

The lineup for day five of the Xbox Live Games on Demand sale is a star-studded one, as nine games are at least half-off for today only. Highlighting today's deals are Borderlands and Borderlands 2, available for $9.99 and $29.99, respectively.

Other games in today's deal include Fable 3, Dead Island and Fallout: New Vegas for $9.99 each. Batman: Arkham City, Portal 2 and Red Dead Redemption can be downloaded for $14.99 each, while Dishonored rounds out the group at $29.99.

The Ultimate Game Sale ends March 4, and while these games are on sale for today only, there's still a sizable list of games at low prices for the length of the promotion.

Well, we say "sneaks" in the headline, but Dishonored could just as easily stab and/or blunderbuss its way onto Xbox Live Games on Demand - it's all a matter of personal preference, really. At any rate, Arkane Studios' whale-punk powerhouse will be available through Microsoft's digital distribution platform on Tuesday, January 29, for an indeterminate price.

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2013 will also be available on Games on Demand next Tuesday, accompanied by Catherine's European, Middle Eastern and Asian releases on the service. Meanwhile, Just Dance 4's "Dance Pack 4" DLC boogies onto XBLA for 240 MS Points, while various Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption DLC packs are marked down by 50 percent until January 28.

So! If you've been dishonored by a dangerous hunt, or are feeling max-payne over Catherine, or were told to "just dance for redemption" at gunpoint during a bank heist, Tuesday might be an emotional trigger day for you. Otherwise, enjoy your digitally distributed whatever.

We're huge fans of the convenience of digital distribution - why trek out to the store like some caveman to buy a plastic disc when we could simply download a game through the innernette? Rockstar is trying to make a case for downloading by discounting four of its top games through Xbox Live's Games on Demand service.

For today only, you can download LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, Max Payne 3 and Midnight Club: LA for 33% off each - that comes out to $20 for LA Noire and Red Dead Redemption, $40 for Max Payne 3 and $10 for Midnight Club: LA. All of the games save for Max Payne 3 are going for more than their Games on Demand sale price on Amazon right now.

Of course, we'd be remiss if we didn't mention three of these games are included in Rockstar Games Collection 1. The only game not included is Max Payne 3, but that's fine because Max just loves being the black sheep of the family.

Rockstar has officially announced its "Rockstar Games Collection," a package of four random Rockstar releases from the last couple of years: Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City (itself a collection), LA Noire, and Midnight Club: Los Angeles Complete Edition.

The bundle will be released November 6 on PS3 and Xbox in North America for $59.99. That's a good deal if you're interested in all of these games and have played none of them.

If your love of shooting things transcends time itself, Amazon has the perfect deal for you. Pick up Max Payne 3 for PlayStation 3 or Xbox today, and you can get a free copy of Red Dead Redemption.

That way, when you get tired of shooting things in the present, you can take a virtual trip into the past to shoot other, western things with more rustic firearms. However, the deal itself doesn't transcend time: Amazon warns us that it ends tomorrow.

If Mad Riders and the two Sega Vintage Collections coming to XBLA this week don't fill absolutely all of your time, you can occupy every spare second with discounted PopCap games. From today through June 4, PopCap games on XBLA are half off, including Plants vs. Zombies, Peggle, Zumba, Bejeweled 3, and more.

Next week, Borderlands DLC will be half off, as will the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare Collection and, why not, Sega Bass Fishing. We know there must be someone who has time to play games next week, but we don't want to hear about it.

Rockstar Games should be partying like, well, itself, according to the stats released in Take-Two's Q3 fiscal report. Rockstar has sold through more than 13 million units of Red Dead Redemption worldwide and more than 5 million units of L.A. Noire since launch. The mobile version of Grand Theft Auto 3 beat all the odds and reviews to become Take-Two's best-selling mobile title to date.
