Sucker Punch wants to reward its fans for being especially good ... or especially bad. IGN reports that InFamous 2 offers an option to import Trophy data from the original InFamous, which is then turned into starting bonuses in Cole McGrath's new adventure.

We've got a rundown of what your Trophies are worth in the sequel after the break -- starting XP bumps and the like -- but the most interesting bit of info is that having unlocked specific story-related Trophies will actually alter the dialog and side missions in InFamous 2. We'd tell you what they are, but then you'd have to kill us. And also, we don't know, because IGN didn't say.

Of course, you could also look at this feature as one big morality test: Will you be a goodie two shoes and choose not to import your data, or do it and effectively use a "cheat" right at the start of the game?

If you beat the original Infamous, collected the 350 blast shards, and earned the Platinum Trophy, chances are you'd be down with Infamous 2 rewards based on those accomplishments. Developer Sucker Punch agrees...

If you have a penchant for messenger bags, world-ending beasts and "it's totally not a toy" figurines, today's inFamous 2 news is just right for you. Beyond a thoroughly detailed photo tour of the game's "Hero Edition" (an "unboxing," if you will), Sony today released a brand new trailer for this June's third-person superhero-er.

Rather than show off the game's New Orleans-inspired location as so many inFamous 2 trailers have before it, this one's all about the destruction of Cole's hometown: Empire City. Turns out that the enormous beast he was worried about in the last game is kind of a dominant force in his second adventure. Head past the break for some minor story spoilers from inFamous 1 and a whole mess of destruction in inFamous 2.

Here at Sucker Punch we’re tired. We’re whipped. Game development is a sprint. You run as hard as you can, then keep running. The problem is the goal line sometimes move mid-race. When you set out to make a game you sort of have an idea of what it’ll ultimately be… but that’s not what it ends up being. You only know what you’ve made once it’s done. Like you guys we experience the game, the real game, for the first time at the end of the road. And it’s exciting. It’s crazy to be playing the game and forget that you made it because you’re busy ducking an RPG rocket. You know that feeling you get when you actually dodge in your seat? Get that all the time. Cole and his friends have stopped being polygons and actors and have become real people. And it’s this reality that makes today’s post cool. Now that we’re so, so close to being done we can finally really talk about the “Big Bad” that pushes the whole story forward.

What’s the Beast, you ask? Like a meteor from outer space it’s a force of destruction too powerful for humanity to contain. At the end of inFamous, Cole MacGrath was given a vision that the Beast would arrive into the world and that he alone could stop it. The safety of our species was put on his shoulders. No pressure right? As you might imagine Cole would do anything in his power to get ready for the fight. He’s desperate to win, to save the lives of his friends and neighbors.

But at the start of inFamous 2 he fails. The Beast arrives and Cole isn’t strong enough. He’s forced to run south to New Marais and prepare for a second, final encounter while his home, Empire City, is swallowed in flames.

Have you ever failed at anything? Ever been dumped or fired or beat up? Ever tried your hardest and still lost? It’s sucks, right? Makes you feel hollowed out, weak. Like you don’t matter. Of course it’s exactly those moments that forge you into in a stronger person. I believe that we are defined by our failure more than our successes. Once you pick yourself up, dust yourself off and OVERCOME the thing that beat you, that’s when you really win. That’s when you’ve surpassed your past self. In inFAMOUS 2 you, help Cole get there. You guide him through New Marais; searching for new, stronger powers. Along the way you’ll meet potential allies who could help in your fight against the Beast. And you’ll need the help… the monster is moving down the coast, burning the landscape, getting stronger as it centers in on New Marais. Your back is against the wall, with only a few days to prepare for that second chance. Soon it’ll be time to overcome the things that have beaten you in the past. Are you up for it? After all, the Beast is Coming.

It’s been a bit since we gave the skinny on the inFAMOUS 2 Hero Edition and now we’ve finally got a copy in the office and can do a proper unboxing of this sweet collection of inFAMOUS 2 goodness. So, to quote Brad Pitt in Seven…..”WHAT’S IN THE BOX!?!”

5751123775_cc21cf05ce.jpg

Let us begin….if you see this on your local store shelf or favorite retailer website and you are a fan of inFAMOUS…..grab it! (Oh, and pay for it of course….we don’t want you TASED for shoplifting.)

5751669252_a310b9e449_z.jpg

Inside you will find a plethora of inFAMOUS 2 goodness all wrapped in plastic to preserve “da freshness.”

What will be hard to resist opening up is the Cole MacGrath statue. This highly detailed statue, designed by Sucker Punch and sculpted by Dave Cortes of Inu Art, stands at 8.5 inches and comes with a New Marais roof top stand that’s perfect for display. Dave Cortes is a toy industry veteran and is known for some of the coolest action figures out today from McFarlane, Neca, Mezco and more!

Right after the figure we tore open the full size replica of Cole’s sling pack. Built for everyday use (and the occasional cosplay party) the pack is big enough and padded to fit your laptop, clothes, or hold your Amp (if you have one). Complete with it’s signature Sly patch, feel free to take it along the next time you feel the need to parkour around your neighborhood.

Also included is the first issue of the inFamous DC comic book with variant cover. This is a must-read for any inFAMOUS fans who wondered what occurred after the events of the original game. You’ll learn the backstory of familiar characters like Moya and Sasha and get a better understanding of the events that set Cole’s new adventure in motion.

It goes without saying that you get your electrifying copy of inFAMOUS 2 in all its Blu-ray glory with access to tons of user-generated content (UGC), but what makes this copy special is the Super Voucher that comes with it! Check out the break down of the content:

Infamous 2 is coming out in the UK, Germany and Ireland on June 10, and the rest of Europe on June 8. Yes, we usually make a bigger deal out of release dates than just dropping them all plain-like in the first sentence like that, but we need as much space as we can get to explain the different bundles available to European shoppers. No joke, you guys: There are five different versions of Sucker Punch's dichotomous action title available in Europe's shops.

So, there's the basic, vanilla flavored standard edition, the Special Edition (which includes extra powers and an "Original Cole" character skin) and the Hero Edition (which includes a lot of things, including a replica messenger bag). However, Europe also gets a bundle that includes the game and a "good" blue or "evil" red DualShock 3 controller, as well as a 320GB PS3 bundle. No prices have been announced for the bundles, but really, what price is too high for premium crimefighting? Or ... um, crimemaking?

A few weeks ago, we put a call out for Infamous 2 questions. Given an audience with Sucker Punch, what would you most want to ask? Unsurprisingly a lot. We sorted through all the submissions and picked the best of the bunch, then reeled off as many as possible when we caught up with Ken Schramm (Communications Director) and Joe Ishikura (Game Designer) from Sucker Punch late last week. Here are your questions and their responses...
