#review Not since my Mii arm-wrestled the Mii of television's own Geoff Keighley has Nintendo technology allowed me to witness such a titanic virtual battle of video game journalists as it did the day Photo Dojo allowed me to battle… me. More »

Even when it's free for the first month, it's still the best 200 points you can spend on DSi.

If you've had the slightest interest in Photo Dojo, Nintendo's weird DSiWare fighting game that uses the camera to make its fighters, you should download it today. If you don't have any interest in that, you should download it today. If you've never heard of Photo Dojo, go ahead and load up the DSi Shop anyway. If you have a DSi, there's basically no reason you shouldn't download Photo Dojo today.

It's free for the next month, is what we're saying.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… It’s hard to knock Photo Dojo: its versatility and use of the DSi’s functions are superb, and the potential to create fighters based on friends, figures and anything else you can photograph is enough to forgive its simplicity and lack of gameplay modes. For 200 Points it’s almost impossible [...]

All right, we didn't think there would be anything that could distract us from the release of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood -- but here we are, on the day of its European release, with pretty much all our focus elsewhere. And no, the object of our gaze isn't Muscle March, as amusing as that is.

It's ... Flashlight for DSiWare. It's ... a flashlight. You pay 200 DSi Points for something that displays a solid color on your screens. We kind of knew it would arrive someday, since there are a million of these on the iPhone, but still. A flashlight.
  • Castlevania: Rondo of Blood (Turbografx CD-ROM, 1 player, 900 Wii Points)
  • Milon's Secret Castle (NES, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)
  • Muscle March (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points)
  • Car Jack Streets (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points)
  • Flashlight (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)
  • Flips: The Enchanted Wood (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)
  • Libera Wing (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points)
  • Photo Dojo (DSiWare, 1-2 players, 200 DSi Points)

Truth be told, I didn’t actually play Photo Dojo at the media summit today. That’s because I downloaded the game on my Japanese DSi XL. It cost me 200 Nintendo Points, and I seriously think that it was the best $2 that I’ve ever spent! This game is going to pay you [...]

The upcoming Japanese DSiWare game Katamuction uses the system's cameras in a unique way: to simulate tilt control. Using Motion Cortex, technology originally designed for motion-based browsing on cell phones, the game uses camera information to sense the direction in which the DS is moved. And what is that technology used for? A game about running away from a dinosaur! Katamuction will be out December 24 for 500 DSi Points. Fight with Pictures: Photo Fighter X from Nintendo uses the camera to create fighting game characters: you take photos of yourself in various poses, and the game makes a fighter out of it! It's out in Japan next week for 200 points.
