As far as I know, this is going to be the inside cover for North America. Finally, we get a game that uses one of these cool inserts!

Plan on collecting all the Kid Icarus: Uprising AR cards that Nintendo makes available? Good luck on that mission, my friend. Nintendo is going to make it quite tough to get all the cards. Here's the details on distribution methods...or lack thereof.

- cards will be available at events
- cards will also be available at tournaments
- some cards will come backed in magazines (like Game Informer)
- no plans to sell the cards at retail right now
- AR cards unlock idols and hearts
- cards also show character or item info
- scan cards to add the data to your game's 'vault'
- first round of cards called Series 1
- serial numbers indicate that there may be upwards of 329 cards
- cards cover every character, weapon, item, and ability
- starter sets at GDC were random packs of 10
- AR coding allows for up to 14,348,907 different cards

The starter and promo packs have 6 cards, while the preorder pack has 24, and it's the same pack we listed earlier today. The Starter Pack contains the Pit, Mangus & First Blade cards along with 3 other random ones. The Promo Pack contains the Three Sacred Treasure card along with 5 other random ones. Finally, the Preorder pack features the Power of Flight & Medusa (Blade) cards along with 22 other random ones. Thanks to Cassiel for the heads up!

Official Nintendo Magazine has gone hands-on with the final version of Kid Icarus: Uprising. They've provided a review of the title in their latest issue, and the game ends up coming away with a 91%. Hopefully we'll have some details from that review in the near future.

To prepare fans for the March 23 launch of Kid Icarus: Uprising for the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo of America will host multiplayer tournaments at select GameStop stores across the United States starting March 8 and culminating in a national championship event in New York on Thursday, March 22. Three winners from each market will participate in the final round. The final national championship event at the GameStop store at Broadway and 84th Street in New York will also feature a special pre-sale opportunity, allowing consumers to purchase the game one day before it goes on sale throughout North America.

The bracket-style tournament will include regional competition at select GameStop locations in San Francisco (March 8), Orlando, Fla., (March 11), Los Angeles (March 15) and New York (March 22). Winners from each of the four markets will be eligible to win prizes including an all-expenses-paid trip to New York to participate in the national championship and a variety of exclusive Kid Icarus-themed items. Even if they are not participating in tournament play, consumers will be able to visit GameStop tournament locations to play Kid Icarus: Uprising before its nationwide launch on March 23.
