It’s been two years since Uncharted 3 be released. Our community be simply amazing, 'n we’re looking t' make it stronger than ever. t' that end, we combed over a multitude a comments 'n sea posts t' see what ye wanted changed in the multiplayer game. We took the most highly-sought changes mentioned 'n made them happen. The list a those changes be below, 'n it’s an epic patch that rivals patch 1.13.
If ye want t' talk t' us more about any a the changes, please join us in our Reddit AMA celebrating the Uncharted 3 two year anniversary Friday, November 1st from 3:00 PM t' 4:30PM PT. Uncharted 3 Game Director Justin Richmond 'n Lead Game Designer Robert Cogburn will be answering yer questions.
We wanted t' celebrate our two biggest changes t' the multiplayer in a video.
A new map, 'n all our DLC maps, meaning all the multiplayer maps be now free… pretty cool, huh? We asked Lead Game Designer Robert Cogburn t' shed a little insight on the making a the Dry Docks map.
Robert Cogburn: When the Dry Docks map be pitched as a single-player level for Uncharted 3, the talented Game Designer Junki Saita be working on a number a setups for the level. All these level setups be represented in a blockmesh format — this be a 3D representation a a playable space using rudimentary geometry made in Maya (the 3D program we use at Naughty Dog). We’ve shown a number a maps like this for Uncharted 3 Multiplayer via our Block Mesh Lab Maps.
Junki be working on one particular setup that showed a lot a promise for a multiplayer map, so I grabbed the blockmesh 'n started editing it for competitive multiplayer. After some time had passed, it be determined the setup for single player would not be used, 'n instead the single-player layout ye see in the final version a the game be completed. This meant what I had done t' make Dry Docks would ONLY be used for multiplayer.
Making games be very time consuming, so ye cut things when it makes sense. It made sense t' prevent our art team from investing time into the multiplayer version a Dry Docks t' match the level a quality we adhere t' at Naughty Dog — therefore the Dry Docks map be cut.
A little less than two years passed 'n the map be forgotten.
With the two year anniversary for Uncharted 3 'n it be multiplayer, 'n the number a cool things we’re doing for 1.18, we decided t' resurrect this map 'n release it t' our fans. It’s quite different than the original version, but the changes we’ve implemented have made Dry Docks all the better.
We hope ye enjoy it.
As for the full breadth a the patch, here’s the rundown a changes we made:
MapsA minor note: if ye notice any doubling a boosters, reconfigure yer loadouts. Once ye un-equip 'n re-equip yer boosters there best be no more visible doubling effect. This effect be purely aesthetic (in the UI) 'n has no impact on gameplay.
'n there it be. This will be the final major patch t' Uncharted 3 unless there’s a dire need for a future one. Our support for the game will continue via Lab updates 'n community events.
We’re also offering up some super deep discounts on select Uncharted 3 multiplayer bottles a rum. Check the in-game store 'n on PlayStation Store t' see what’s on sale in yer region. These deals be incredibly sweet, so don’t miss out as they’ll end November 4th.

The UNCHARTED 3 Multiplayer Free-t'-Play launched a few weeks ago 'n we’ve seen a healthy uplift t' our community, t' the tune a over three hundred 'n fifty thousand downloads a the Free-t'-Play client t' date globally. The Oasis map used t' provide respite for a Bedouin camp, but now serves as a sun-drenched battlefield for yer multiplayer matches.
We put a lot a love 'n polish into each map, including new dynamic events that occurs as the match progresses. In Graveyard, a patrol boat will circle the border 'n launch grenades.
