Steam has introduced a new tags system, where users can input custom tags on any Steam product page. Steam Tags not only helps with organization, it's also a good tool for discovering new games and apps on Steam.

You can now browse games by popular tags such as "Steam Trading Cards" or "difficult," or by tags recommended to you based on your play and purchase history. Steam Tags are multi-lingual, too - so you can add tags in English, Russian, Danish and more. Sorry, it doesn't look like Steam supports Klingon or Elvish tags.

The implementation of Steam Tags follows last week's addition of a Recently Updated section providing an at-a-glance view of games that have been patched or received new content. Steam's Daily Deal has just knocked 50 percent from the price of Namco Bandai's hit Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+, granting the revived incarnation of the pellet-chomping arcade classic a $5 price tag.

If you've ever played Pac-Man you're already familiar with the basics of Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+. Navigate a maze, avoid ghosts, eat pellets - you know the drill. Where the new game differentiates itself is in its novel tweaks to the classic formula. Kill 'em with kindness? Sure, we've all heard the phrase, but how about kill 'em with romance? A new language pack called "Love at First Bite" for The Typing of the Dead: Overkill, Sega's profanity-laden, typing-based on-rails mutant eradicator, aims to do just that.

For $2.99, you can replace all of The Typing of the Dead: Overkill's vocabulary with lovey-dovey phrases like "As you wish," "How many camels can I buy you for?" and more. For those who are feeling less in the mood to swoon, there are also less romantic phrases to mash out on your keyboard like "Break up" and "Impractical."

Glory to Arstotzka! The bleak Papers, Please nation is now a playable world power in Sid Meier's Civilization 5 thanks to a Steam Workshop mod from Snakeeater337. Arstotzka comes to Sid Meier's Civilization 5 replete with its own unique units, buildings, custom dialogue and music.

Arstotzka has its own custom Border Guard unit, a cheaper version of the Rifleman that gets combat bonuses fighting on native soil. There's also the Border Checkpoint building, which adds protection from spies and produces extra gold each turn. Arstotzka begins the game with its custom "Glory to Arstotzka" trait, which increases worker production at the cost of population happiness and city growth speed. All cities also start with a free worker.

The only downside to this mod is that it requires Brave New World, the latest expansion for Sid Meier's Civilization 5, in order to play. Drunken Robot Pornography, the high-flying robot shooter from Dejobaan Games, launches in full on February 19 via Steam and the Humble Store. DRP has been sitting pretty on Steam Early Access since the day that service launched in March, and next week it's finally ready for deployment.

In the game, players don jetpacks to battle giant robots called Titans - Dejobaan started working on DRP two years ago, ages before that other game about titans showed up - and attempt to stop the metal beasts from destroying Boston with their fancy lasers, rockets, bullets and claws. It's a first-person shooter in a bullet hell (not Boston - that's just the game style).

DRP will retail for $15, but it may come with a Steam discount on launch day. That's all outlined in Dejobaan's open marketing document, a Google Doc that displays the studio's launch plans, marketing strategies and hopes for the game's release, including the repeated phrase, "NOTE TO SELVES: None of this matters if we don't make a great game." This open marketing plan joins Dejobaan's public design document for Drop that Beat like an Ugly Baby as an example of transparent development in the indie world.

Service Feature Adds Powerful Way To Shop For Games And Software

February 12, 2014 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Counter-Strike, Dota 2, Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Portal, and Team Fortress) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today launched user-defined "Tagging" of products on Steam, a leading platform for games and software with over 75 million accounts worldwide.

Now available in beta, Tagging gives Steam customers the ability to "Tag" any title with genres, themes, attributes, or any other term or phrase. The most popular tags on any given product will be surfaced on said product's Steam page and allow users to easily find other products associated with that same tag.

As with the "Recently Updated" section launched last week, Tagging is designed to provide more ways to discover interesting content on Steam.

Additionally, a related product section was launched today, making it easy to browse by any of the frequently used tags assigned by the community.

"As the catalog of products available on Steam continues to grow, we want to ensure that it is easy for customers to find the particular types of games or software they are looking for," says Al Farnsworth of Valve. "With this new feature, we are providing another powerful tool to help organize and browse products on Steam."

User-defined Tagging is available in beta form immediately and is accessible to all Steam users.

The 'Love At First Bite' pack is out today, replacing the words in the game with romantic nonsense for $2.99/£1.99/€2.49. Things soon escalate, and Dracula finds himself defeating wave after wave of enemies as he tries to ascend a titan-like mechanical knight - as you do.

Steam's Midweek Madness sale is offering up a tempting smorgasbord of deals across a variety of Capcom DLC. Supplemental content for DmC: Devil May Cry, Lost Planet 3, Super Street Fighter 4 and more are available for up to 75% off. You can also grab DLC for Resident Evil: Revelations and Resident Evil 6, though we wouldn't suggest dropping any money on the latter.

Punishing roguelike Risk of Rain is also on sale for 40% off, which brings Richard's Four in February game down to $6. A four-pack for Risk of Rain is also on sale for $18, down from the usual asking price of $30.

Aptly self-described "rogue publisher" Devolver Digital has announced an agreement with developer Free Lives to release Broforce on Steam's Early Access come March, with full-fledged PC and console releases to follow this summer.

"When evil threatens the world, the world calls on Broforce - an under-funded, over-powered paramilitary organization dealing exclusively in excessive force," reads the game's official description. "Brace your loins with up to four players to run 'n' gun as dozens of different bros and eliminate the opposing terrorist forces that threaten our way of life. Unleash scores of unique weapons and set off incredible chain reactions of fire, napalm, and limbs in the name of freedom."

If that last paragraph didn't grow hair on your chest, take a look at the above trailer, which depicts Broforce as a retro-styled, multiplayer platformer homage to the action films of the 1980s. You've got your classic action hero archetypes, your over-the-top machismo, and an eagle made of metal flexing in front of the American flag. Short of Sylvester Stallone arm-wrestling the ghost of Ronald Reagan, this is about as bro as it gets, bro.

The only way to attend Steam's "off the record" Dev Days conference last month was to be invited to Seattle. Now Valve has published all of the talks online, providing us a chance to soak in all of the insights without having to soak in low levels of radiation from airport scanners.
