We enjoyed our time with Rock of Ages, sure, but we really could've used more outright aggravation in our attempts to wield the game's eponymous main character. Atlus' latest Steam-exclusive update to the game solves that very problem, turning the orb of rock into a solid block. As you might imagine, this makes movement just a tad more difficult than normal, meaning that the various obstacles stopping said rock from pulverizing an opponent's castle are all the more difficult to navigate.

Atlus PR man Aram Jabarri demonstrates that frustration in the video we've dropped just above, and you can grab the update for free via Steam right now.

In other Rock of Ages news, the game will finally see launch on the PlayStation 3 in May or June, Jabarri told us. "If the quartz is with us, [Rock of Ages] should be out worldwide for PSN in May/June and it will have bonus content, as well as SECRET bonus content that will launch exclusively on PS3," he said. He also clarified that the Block of Ages content "will not appear on any other platform."

Updates to Waveform have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Bug fixes:
-Fixed the sticky cursor bug plaguing a few users. Special thanks to the Steam community for their help tracking this one down and to admiralnlson for his Metacritic review that brought the issue to our attention
-Fixed crash for graphics cards whose OpenGL implementation cannot support glBlendFuncSeparate
-Dont show global stats on loading screen if no data is available from the Steam servers
-Fix missing level objects in Sun 7 (the credits level)
-Correctly save achievements earned during Deep Space Modes

New functionality:
-If you have the option selected to pause the game by right-clicking the mouse, you can now unpause the game by right-clicking the mouse

Note for any user experiencing strange visual bugs on the title screen (i.e. black screen, missing images)
-Support is coming soon for a launcher menu upon entering the game to change visual options in order to fix compatibility errors. In the meantime, try modifying the game's resolution and fullscreen settings in the config.ini file located within the config folder of the game's install directory, which has helped many users fix their problems thus far.

#sworcery You think different. You've rejected the shiny, minimalist wares that come from Apple. Good for you. But that also means you probably haven't played Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery—a.k.a. one of 2011's best games—which has been exclusively available on iDevices up until this point. More »

Capybara Games' award winning iOS action/adventure title Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP may be making the leap from mobile to desktop, according to a report at IGM. While no port has been officially announced by Capybara, a Steam registry crawler has uncovered its listing in the service's database, which indicates a release "in the next week or so."

We're keeping our fingers crossed, because contrary to popular belief, there are actually people in the world that don't own iPhones, iPads or iPods. Several members of the Joystiq staff fall into that category, as a matter of fact, and we're getting pretty dang tired of having critically acclaimed iOS games like Sword & Sworcery EP held over our heads by the other editors.Report: Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP coming to Steam

It doesn’t take a lot for me to get obsessed. I’d managed to pull away from Team Fortress 2, but then Valve introduced the Strange catagory of weapons, stat-tracking guns and melee weapons that report how many kills each has, and I got into it all over again. I’m almost embarrassed by how easy it was to hook me back into the mainframe. Worryingly Valve have just added a new category of unlocks to augment the Strange weapons counting abilities: Strange Parts.

Only found in crates, Strange Parts will help you study specific aspects of your performance in battle by letting you customize your favorite Strange weapon. Now you’re free to track the number of enemies you gib, projectiles you reflect, heads you’ve shot, and more.

They’ve also dropped three new hats into the game, and that number is a more descriptive than you realise: there are only three in the entire game, and to get one you’ll most likely need to spend a significant amount of money.(more…)

Pendulo Studios promised Yesterday would be dark, gritty and just on this side of disturbing, and it most decidedly is. Yesterday introduces friendly characters simply to kill them off and it doesn't shy away from jamming bullets through almost everyone's head. It examines -- in detail -- torture, Satanic rituals and axes to the face, all within a complexly layered storyline about a young(ish) man's quest to find himself.

Yesterday tackles heavy subjects such as love, immortality, the Spanish Inquisition, BDSM, poverty and sociopathic homicidal maniacs, all accessible with a point and a click. The art style is lighthearted enough to support Pendulo's trademark comic relief while keeping the story moving forward in a serious way -- seriously fast.

Hi everybody!

After spending some much needed time tracking all issues reported, we found a very plausible cause for the white screen on launch along with some performance issues and other minor bugs we could fix. Hopefully you won't be experiencing any problems launching the game from now on.
We would like to thank everybody who took their time helping us improve the game with their reports and comments on the forums and send a special thanks to "jsmucha" for his thorough report about bugged achievements.

[CHANGELOG 3/29/2012]

- Fixed multithreaded loading issues. This was the main cause for the white screen when launching the game many users reported.
- Fixed default resolution issue where the game would take Windows reported resolution instead of the real desktop resolution resulting in some impossible to render scenarios.
- Fixed FPS drops under certain circumstances.
- Fixed several achievements reported by the community.
- Fixed bullets not colliding while on a multiplayer game.
- Fixed map objects colliding after dying.
- Added security measures to game scripts.
- IMPROVED OVERALL EXPERIENCE

Once again thanks again to everyone for helping out!

Shoot Many Robots will be downloadable as a prime directive for humans using personal computers on April 6. Demiurge's co-op shoot-every-metal-thing-that-moves title will be available for $10, with an option to buy three copies of the game and receive the fourth for free.

Steam-specific bonuses include gear that lets avatars dress like Half-Life's Gordon Freeman and the addition of Portal's turrets as robots to shoot. The Chopper Bot backpack for the Pyro and Medic classes in Team Fortress 2 is also available exclusively through Steam.

"We rebuilt the controls for PC and overhauled the user interface so it won't feel like you've turned your keyboard into a gamepad that makes clicky sounds - every detail has been considered to make this an optimized and seamless experience," said Demiurge CEO Albert Reed.

Demiurge will also host a "Control Scheme Throwdown" at next week's PAX East to resolve some control issues with the non-mouse and keyboard set.
