With a game so rich and deep in customisation as Heroes of Ruin, it's important that the level of variety of the weapons matches that of the armour and skills which are found in the game. Below you'll find concept images showing just a few of the different weapon types available for the Alchitect, Savage, Gunslinger and Vindicator.

We finally have a release date for Heroes of Ruin as well. While the title was originally set for a Spring release, the new date puts the title on shelves June 26th. Not that long of a wait, and I think the wait will be worth it!

While I've only had a few days with an early version of the game, it's already very apparent that Heroes of Ruin is like nothing else in the 3DS library. A Diablo-stlye action RPG with a huge emphasis on online multiplayer, this new game from Square Enix is bringing quite an ample offering to the 3DS table...

Heroes of Ruin

Platform: Nintendo 3DS

Rating: Teen

Content descriptors: Fantasy Violence, Mild Blood, Mild Language

Rating summary: This is an action role-playing game in which players assume the role of a hero on a quest to break a powerful curse. From a 3/4–overhead perspective, players use swords, pistols, and magic spells to complete missions and defeat a variety of enemies (e.g., demons, elves, goblins, wolves). Combat is accompanied by battle cries, impact sounds, and colorful light effects; enemies disappear when killed. A few dungeon environments depict blood stains or dead bodies lying in small pools of blood. A handful of cutscenes also portray wounded characters moaning in pain. The words “damn” and “hell” appear in the dialogue.

Last year we got an early look at Heroes of Ruin's Vindicator class, a Warrior-type with an emphasis on high HP and high-damage melee attacks. As the n-Space / Square Enix action RPG continues to inch closer to its April release, more details on the game's remaining character roles are finally coming to light...
