Darksiders 2 is a sweeping, brutal sequel with an incredible amount to sink your teeth into - but, like the first game, it spreads itself too thin.

A portion of a Siliconera review...

Given Darksiders’ focus on combat over gadgets, however, the game doesn’t quite fit the Zelda mold. Instead of finding the right way to use a new item, like in Zelda, a lot of the challenge in Darksiders is traversal, in or out of dungeons.

The story draws to a close with a number of narrative strands flailing in the wind, and throughout the campaign there are signs that the adventure's borrowed elements are pulling themselves together to create something genuinely harmonious. Two riders down, and you'll still want more. If this is the apocalypse, let's make the most of it.

Part 43 of IGN's video walkthrough nears the end of Death's errand to Earth. The Final piece to the Rod of Arafel is in hand and Death makes his way back to Uriel and the Portal back to Lostlight.

The original Darksiders managed to frustrate us. But that was two years ago, and it’s a fresh start. And no suspense here: the sequel is absolutely fantastic. I’ve been playing Darksiders II in every waking hour for days, and can now tell you Wot I Think.

- also includes detailed maps
- due out Aug. 14th

The guide also includes exclusive weapons and DLC, but we're unsure if the same content will be provided for the Wii U version.

- after every five waves, you’re given the choice of claiming a reward or continuing
- die before collecting a reward and you get nothing
- ewards can be carried over to the game’s regular story mode
- includes a New Game+ mode
- start the game over with all of your equipment and and skills intact from your previous playthroug
