As I mentioned, Four Swords is not a very long game (it did start off as a multiplayer mode in a GBA game after all), but the game does feature some rather extensive replay value. From the aforementioned ‘Realm of Memories’ to the multiple paths and secrets for you to find and of course the high scores you and your friends will be competing for, this is a game that is jam packed with content. Oh and did I mention that The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords: Anniversary Edition is a free download? So as soon as you finish reading this review (priorities first people), grab your DSi, DSi XL or 3DS and get downloading.

The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords: Anniversary Edition may not be the grand, epic adventure that we have come to expect from games that start with ‘The Legend Of Zelda’ but what it does, it does well. Sure, the single player mode may be a bit on the cumbersome side, and yes, the game does look awfully dated. And, of course, the exclusion of any online modes in a game that is mostly a multiplayer experience is a big no-no. But the sheer thrill in getting some friends together and going on a quest to save a princess is an experience like no other.

That sword is going to turn one Link into FOUR LINKS

This September, there will finally be a new reason to log onto DSiWare. No, there isn't a new myNotebook release (this time). Rather, you should log onto DSi Store this September to download a free copy of the strange, eccentric, and super cool game, Zelda: Four Swords.

A local multiplayer- based cooperative offering released as a pack in to the GBA port of A Link To The Past, Zelda: Four Swords was a really neat multiplayer offering that still worked around the standard Zelda mechanics. And now, you'll be be able to download the full game for free this September, as part of Zelda's 25th anniversary.

Is a free game enough for you to log onto DSiWare? It is for me.

During Nintendo's E3 2011 presser this morning, Super Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that Nintendo DSi owners will be getting a free copy of The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. No, we're not really sure how a GameCube game with GameBoy Advance functionality will end up on Nintendo's DSi, but we imagine it'll have the GameCube game on your top DSi screen while the GBA part of the game shows up on the bottom screen. We'll be sure to ask Nintendo for more details as soon as we can.
