In February 2012, Naughty Dog’s beloved Jak and Daxter franchise got a faithful HD remake on PS3 in the form of Jak and Daxter Collection, satiating series fans and introducing newcomers to the duo. This June, we’re expanding the collection to the portable audience. Jak and Daxter Collection (comprised of three of Jak and Daxter’s legendary adventures – Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3) is coming to PS Vita for just $29.99.

The power of PS Vita means Jak and Daxter Collection will feature authentically reproduced graphics from the original games. Longtime fans will instantly feel at home, and new players will experience the world of Jak and Daxter for the first time, along with new touch-based applications of certain mini games throughout the collection.

Jak and Daxter Collection on PS Vita has full Trophy support, but fear not Trophy hunters — the list isn’t shared with the PS3 version, so go for the Platinum!

We’ve been hard at work on this addition to the Jak and Daxter lineage, and we can’t wait to hear your hover board triumph stories as well as your trials and tribulations during your quests for more eco.

There's a lot happening on PSN this week. For starters, HD remasters of the first three games in the Jak and Daxter series are now available at $15 each, or you can grab the whole collection for $40. The Simpsons Arcade Game also makes its long-awaited debut. It's currently free for PlayStation Plus subscribers and $10 for everyone else. Gotham City Impostors also makes its debut, including both a free demo and the full version for $15.

Other noteworthy additions include a full game download of Catherine and some new DLC for Uncharted 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. Oh, there's also quite a bit of DLC for UFC Undisputed 3, just in case you'd like to load up on that before the game actually comes out next week. Check out PlayStation Blog for the full PSN update.

The Jak and Daxter Collection, a compilation of the first three games in the classic PS2 series, will be available in just a few weeks for PS3. The PlayStation Blog announced that the package launches on February 7 and 22 in North America and Europe, respectively. The bundle will cost $39.99 in the Americas and €39.99 in Europe.

All the games have been reworked to feature 720p resolution, Trophies and stereoscopic 3D support. It's the closest many of us will ever get to being able to reach out and just throttle Daxter ... or pet him, whichever your preference over the past decade.

In November 2004 I got into a full on shouting match with some guy in my Art History 102 class over which game was going to be more epic: Jak 3 or Halo 2. The next day he came to class infuriated over Halo 2's all-too-short campaign and I was still deep within Jak's engrossing story, so I think I wo...

High-definition goatee news now, with Naughty Dog sharing further details on the disc-bound Jak and Daxter Collection, set to hit PlayStation 3 in February 2012. Most remastered trilogies can match the features boasted by this one, such as 720p resolution, Trophies and stereoscopic 3D support, but none can claim to have this kind of titular escalation. You get Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (subtitle), Jak II (Roman numerals) and Jak 3 (plain ol' numbered sequel).

Remastering duties on the Jak and Daxter Collection fall to Mass Media, a company that survived a stint and closure under THQ, where it ported the Full Spectrum Warrior games to PlayStation 2. According to Naughty Dog co-president Evan Well, Mass Media is "working closely with our team at Naughty Dog.

A brief reminder of the games being assembled here can be found in the trailer above. We're also reminded to institute a law preventing anyone from writing "duo" if it's preceded -- as always -- by "dynamic."
