Pow! This is exciting enough for me to shed all notions of adulthood. I just set fire to a pile of bills and have squeezed into some distressingly tight shorts. Join me? Adventure Time, the ridiculously good Cartoon Network show, will finally be turned into a PC game. Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I DON’T KNOW!, is a sequel to the handheld-only action platformer Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why’d You Steal Our Garbage?!. It’ll be a four-player co-op game, set deep in a Candy Kingdom dungeon.(more…)

The entirety of Adventure Time: Hey Ice King, Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!'s phenomenal pseudo-chiptune power-pop soundtrack is now streaming on D3Publisher's official Soundcloud account, which means that all 83 minutes of Jake Kaufman's exceptional work on the game can now be enjoyed for free.

While the majority of the 34 track album is instrumental, some songs (such as Marceline's boss theme and the beginning/ending themes) are fitting vocal tributes to the source material, which is already famous for having catchy, endearing music.

There is one small catch, which is that the soundtrack isn't actually for sale or available to download, and therefore must be enjoyed in-browser. This basically ruins our plans to drive around town blasting Party in the Clouds, but we'll take what we can get at this point.

The Xbox Live Marketplace has checked its watch and observed the little hand is squarely on "Adventure." A lineup of Adventure Time avatar items is live on XBLM, including shirts with Jake, Finn, Lady Raincorn, Ice King and Marceline, along with extra items such as Marceline's Axe Bass, Finn's Toy Golden Sword of Battle, Ice King's crown and Princess Bubblegum's tiara and hair.

The Princess Bubblegum item is on the second page, where we can only assume she's hiding from Ice King. Unfortunately, she's right next to an Ice King t-shirt, and they're all alone. Finn, Jake, help!

[Thanks, neoz.]

The Adventure Time Game Making Frenzy has come to an end, and jammers who worked locally in Austin, TX, or distributed throughout the world have begun posting playable, hastily made games based on the whimsical cartoon series to "BMO," an online game jam platform designed specifically for this event. Many can be downloaded, and some can even be played in your browser.

Some randomly picked highlights include ADVENTURE MINUTE, a one-minute top-down adventure by Jan Willem Nijman of Vlambeer and Kitty Calis; C'mon, Grab Your Friends, a game that interprets a line from the theme song literally, about using Jake's stretchy arms to grab only friendly characters; Crossbow Chaos, a surprisingly pretty pixelated shmup by Gold_Ninja; the lovely The Legend of Finn, an impressive sidescrolling platformer by MiniBoss; and no fewer than three games based on Drop Ball, the extremely addictive high intensity game of holding a ball between your buttocks and then dropping it at the opportune movement.

Above: Drop Ball Kinect. What did you do this weekend?

What time is it? Frantic, sleepless coding time! A last-minute event has been added to the upcoming Fantastic Arcade celebrations in Austin, TX: a 48-hour game jam in which participants will attempt to create games about, based on, inspired by, or otherwise tied into Cartoon Network's wonderful Adventure Time.

The "Game Making Frenzy" from September 14-16 is open to anyone worldwide, with space available in Austin for local developers. "Guys, this is maybe the coolest Adventure Time thing.. for me.." Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward said on Twitter. "I'm super excited about this." Jake and Finn are also apparently super excited.

Pendleton Ward, the beard behind the cult-cute cartoon series Adventure Time, loves games. He says so right on his new Tumblr called "I Love Games You Guys," which is where Ward plans to "interview people who work on games."

Apparently it's also where he plans to post adorable video game gifs, starting with Mario. Ward is gearing up for his first interview with Charles Martinet, who has provided the voice of Mario since 1994. I Love Games You Guys is a community effort, with Ward asking readers if they can help him snag contacts or make connections with interviewees in the industry.

Considering there's an Adventure Time game on its way, maybe Ward should interview himself. If you have a helpful connection or just want to watch Mario stick a plunger on his face for a few hours, check out Ward's Tumblr right here.

#adventuretime Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?! is coming out in October on the DS. While I love the fact it's taking so many cues from old games like Zelda II, after seeing this, I'm a little worried it's taking too many cues. Hopefully some extra polish is added to stuff like thoe captions and doorways by the time the game ships. More »

We're big fans of Pendleton Ward's Adventure Time series around these parts, what with its perfect blend of humor and mysticism and child-like wonderment and everything. In fact, Ward's vision of our magical post-apocalyptic future in the Land of Ooo is so unique and tonally specific, it's been hard to believe that WayForward could properly capture that essence.

After seeing this footage of Adventure Time: Hey Ice King! Why'd You Steal Our Garbage?!!, however, we're starting to feel a little better about it. The action appears distinctly Zelda II-ish, with Jake the Dog and Finn the Human navigating top-down overworlds and side-scrolling sections. Hopefully this trend of reassurance continues as we approach the game's fall 2012 release window.

Before hitting Nintendo's portable systems, the duo from Adventure Time are gracing your iDevice's screen. Adventure Time - Legends of Ooo: Big Hollow Princess is a new point-and-tap adventure game for iOS in which Finn and Jake team up to stop the evil Ice King, who is running around freezing princesses like there's a time and a place for that kind of thing. Protip: it's never cool to freeze a princess. Don't even think about doing it.

You can download Adventure Time - Legends of Ooo: Big Hollow Princess (compatible with iOS 4.1 and higher) right now for $.99. Adventure Time - Legends of Ooo: Big Hollow Princess even features new voiceovers from the show's actors, exclusive to this new iOS game.

"Hey Ice King! Why'd you steal our garbage?" asks the cover of WayForward's Adventure Time game. The answer, it seems, is to build a Garbage Princess, which Finn and Jake have to then rescue for some reason. Maybe they just want to beat up the Ice King again.

D3Publisher officially announced the game today, announcing plans to release both DS and 3DS versions this fall. Players will get to control both Finn and Jake through "a unique action-adventure experience" designed in collaboration with Pendleton Ward, creator of the show. D3 has yet to release any screens, but we'll be sure to let you know when you can see the garbage for yourself.
