Who watches the Watch Dogs? You can, right now, when you pre-purchase the game on Steam. Those who put down their money in advance of Watch Dogs' May 27 release date will receive the Blume Agent Pack, which comes with the Blume Agent Outfit and Blume Weapon Effect, which reduces the recoil of weapons. You can also upgrade to the Deluxe Digital Edition and receive more bonus content, including extra missions, costumes and gameplay tweaks.

Curious to know if your modern-day computing machine can handle the near-future hacker tech of Aiden Pearce? The game's Steam page recommends an Intel Core i7-3770 processor running at 3.5 GHz or AMD FX-8350 X8 processor running at 4 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, an Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 ti or AMD Radeon HD 7850 graphics card, and 25 GB of available hard drive space.

Continuing a trend begun by Assassin's Creed 4, Ubisoft has announced exclusive content earmarked specifically for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 incarnations of its upcoming technofetishistic adventure, Watch Dogs.

According to Ubisoft, the Sony-bound versions of the game will feature four missions not found in their Xbox counterparts. Completing these missions will award players a unique outfit, a special Hacking Boost and a "deeper knowledge of DedSec, a key and powerful faction in the Watch Dogs universe." Ubisoft estimates the missions will roughly translate to an hour of play time.

This additional content will be available to PlayStation owners free of charge and is slated to launch alongside Watch Dogs on May 27. [Image: Ubisoft]

When Ubisoft's technofetishistic action game Watch Dogs debuts on May 27 it will be available in the usual standalone varieties, but those without a console to play it on will also be able to pick up the game as part of a PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 bundle.

The European PlayStation.blog announced the existence of these bundles earlier today. It fails to clarify exactly what will be included in these packages, though the entry does highlight the addition of "60 minutes of exclusive gameplay" to those versions of Watch Dogs appearing on Sony's consoles.

Also missing from the report is any word on how much these bundles will cost and whether they're exclusive to European territories or will be released in other parts of the world. So far there's no mention of Watch Dog bundles on the American PlayStation.blog, and our attempts to reach Sony for clarification have been fruitless. We'll update this story when and if we find further information. [Image: Sony]

Best Buy has rolled out a program offering $10 next-gen upgrades for a handful of coming games, similar to the system put in place at Gamestop.

Included in the list of eligible games are FIFA 14, Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and Watch Dogs.

Exactly how you score your cheap upgrade is where things get complicated. According to Best Buy's official site, if you purchase one of the above games within a set period after its release (most can be picked up as much as a month after release day), you'll be given a $10 coupon to be put toward your game's Xbox One incarnation. When you want to upgrade, you must present this coupon as well as the Xbox 360 game. Best Buy will then give you $40 store credit in exchange for the game, reducing the final cost of your new Xbox One game to $10 (unless the Xbox One version has a retail price greater than $60; in that case you'll be paying the remainder as well).

If this scheme sounds intriguing, you should also note that all such upgrades must occur by December 31. Full legal details and all the fine print you can digest can be found on Best Buy's official site.

Watch Dogs, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag are going to look best on PC, thanks to an "alliance" formed between developer/publisher Ubisoft and graphics card manufacturer Nvidia, the two companies have announced.

Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft, said that the partnership will allow Ubisoft to deliver "stunning" performance for new and upcoming games. "The PC remains one of the world's most popular gaming platforms, and we're committed to offering PC players the best possible experience with our games," Key said.

So what does that mean for PC users? Fancy techno-jargon graphics options! Enjoy TXAA antialiasing, soft shadows, horizon-based ambient occlusion, and advanced DX11 tesselation! Need to upgrade your graphics card to take advantage? You can pick up Blacklist as part of a bundle when you purchase a qualifying GeForce GTX 660, 660 TI, 670, 680, 760, 770 or 780 graphics card.

So there you have it: Ubisoft wants to give PC gamers the best versions of their games, and they've partnered with a major player in the hardware market to make it happen. Because they care.

During Sony's Gamescom press keynote, president Andrew House revealed a program that would allow consumers to upgrade from select PS3 titles to their PS4 counterparts for a "significantly discounted price." UK managing director Fergal Gara told Digital Spy that the pricing will be dictated by publishers.

"What will happen is, the PS4 digital file will be made available on the PlayStation Store - as it would be anyway - at launch, and the PS3 discs will be sold through retail. What the consumer can then do, for a premium to be defined by the publisher, is access the PS4 digital game and then provided they still have the PS3 disc, they will be able to play the PS4 version when they decide to buy the next gen."

Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4 are the first games eligible for this promotion. GameStop and Amazon both announced they will offer similar upgrade options for Xbox 360 to Xbox One games, though nothing has been announced from either retailer regarding PS3 to PS4 upgrades.

During Sony's Gamescom briefing, Andrew House announced that PS3 players who purchase select software will have the ability to upgrade to the PlayStation 4 version for a "significantly discounted price."

House confirmed a number of games will be available for the "limited time" offer, including Call of Duty: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Watch Dogs and Battlefield 4. Activision, Ubisoft, EA and Warner Bros. were noted as publishers partnering with Sony on the upgrade initiative. It's unclear if the program will be available worldwide.

Unlike similar retailer offers revealed for Xbox One software earlier this week, Sony's plan is to offer the discounted games through its own digital storefront.

PlayStation 4 launches in North America on November 15 and in Europe on November 29.

All Games Beta has published a video purported to be a leaked first look at multiplayer in Watch Dogs, the upcoming current- and next-gen title from Ubisoft Montreal.

In the video, near-future devices are invaded for information by hackers that attempt to blend into the crowds of a bustling alternative-reality Chicago. Downloading the information appears to take some time, forcing hackers to evade victims before being discovered and summarily killed.

A recent peek behind the game's development curtain revealed multiplayer would feature an element of invasion; however, the supposed leaked video features no identifying language that reveals it to be a multiplayer mode (Gamertags/PSN IDs, for example).

Joystiq has contacted Ubisoft to confirm if this is indeed our first look at Watch Dogs multiplayer in action.

In a post-PRISM reality, or rather a world in which the public have knowledge of PRISM, the hack and crash nature of open city cyber-adventure Watch Dogs could be considered timely, topical or controversial. Judging by the latest footage to emerge from the heaving bowels of E3, it’s really a game about superpowers though. Strip away the theme of a game and most abilities beyond running, jumping and falling down have a supernatural whiff about them. Observe as our hero, who really needs a strepsil, summons an impenetrable darkness. He does it by pressing a button on his smartphone, which causes all the lights in the city to turn off. It’s technology rather than magic, see?

Ubisoft just showed a quick demo of Watch Dogs at Sony's E3 press conference, featuring some new police-escaping gameplay by hero Aiden Pearce, and a hacking ability that allows him to apparently blackout all of Chicago, if only temporarily.

Sony also announced that Watch Dogs would have exclusive content on the PlayStation 4, including a new outfit for Pearce, and a full hour of content exclusive to the platform. You may remember this deal from Ubisoft's other series, Assassin's Creed. Watch Dogs is set to arrive on November 19.
