Not that long ago, Nintendo revealed that The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds would feature a Hero mode. Wondering just how much of a challenge that will be? We're hearing that the mode cranks up damage Link receives to 4 times the normal amount!

- start collecting and hoarding Rupees immediately
- dungeons seem to require one new item at a time
- a few hours in, the option to buy from Ravio opens up
- early dungeon entrances are marked with icons that indicate which item you'll need
- fast-travel options let you quickly get back to Ravio's shop
- when you shoot an arrow into a stone wall, it ricochets upwards off the screen
- features a character that's sort of like a rapper
- drop up to 20 pins on the game's main map to mark things that intrigue you
- cannot leave notes on the touch screen
- far less hand-holding
- there's been something fun done with bee collecting

- free the seven sages who are trapped in the Lorule dungeons
- when you first enter Lorule, Princess Hilda saves you in person
- later she will communicate through telepathy
- travel between Hyrule and Lorule via painting cracks or portals
- these are marked on your map as you find them
- place your own markers to indicate places of interes
- fight the Helmasaur King in the Dark Palace
- this palace has three layers of security before you can even get to the entrance
- avoid detection or be thrown in jail
- turn flat and hide behind vines covering the walls to sneak past guards
- the lamp is necessary to get around in this dungeon
- floors and walls appear and disappear depending on whether the lights are turned on
- some labyrinths can only be navigated by finding hidden cracks
- includes enemies like the mirror-walking Goriyas
- use bombs to activate switches
- sometimes you need to throw bombs up a level to do this
- dungeons have unique music
- assign items to X and Y
- B and A are reserved for sword and context use
- L lets you run

- Hyrule is enjoying a time of peace
- permanently purchasing a boomerang will cost 400 rupees
- your progress in the dungeon stays intact if you die
- if you die, choose to continue from the dungeon or at home
- microtransactions are not happening in Zelda
- one dungeon has a conveyor belt that tosses you into a pit
- find paintings of items that can be popped out of walls by merging
- sometimes you can use other items/enemies to get past roadblocks that require items
- example: you'll need bombs in one dungeon, but that dungeon has bomb enemies
