Whether or not you’re playing Disney Infinity, there’s bound to be a character that you like who eventually gets the figure treatment, and these are hard to resist. As collector’s items, it’s difficult to determine whether or not the figures will hold any intrinsic value, but fans of the Disney universe will love having these on display with the rest of their memorabilia.
You have to think of "Disney Infninty" as a system rather than a single game. Ideally, what you're buying into is dozens and dozens of hours of fun, customizable content with the promise of even more physical add-ons regularly debuting at the toy store. Though a deep investment from the parential bank, children and adults should equally find something here to keep them playing for months -- if not years -- to come.

As a platform for future Disney games, Infinity could surprise us yet. It's certainly more promising than the flavourless Disney Universe, and the playset concept means that improvement is only ever one great expansion away. That greatness isn't here yet, however.
I wish it had more variety, as the available Play Sets are from three Pixar movies and two live-action movies starring Johnny Depp. Even still, Disney Infinity is the game, and potentially the platform, for Disney fans. And hopefully these Disney fans have some money to spend.
