- twelve characters to choose from: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Toad, Koopa Trooper, Daisy, Wario, Toadette and Waluigi
- multiple routes and hidden shortcuts on each cours
- touch screen still used for horn

- world map is no longer shown on the TV screen
- this has been moved to the GamePad
I have a feeling there will be more than 12 characters in the game. Nintendo isn't going to come out and talk about secret characters!
