TAY BMOC and 'Shop Contest all-star Ben Bertoli/GiantBoyDetective reviewed Wii Party U so we didn't have to. On one hand, it's got dice! On the whole, though, it's "an average offering and a pretty good mini-game collection."Read more...
In some ways Wii Party U feels like a more refined Mario Party, albeit with a lot less heart and charm. It constantly straddles the line between tech-demo and full-on experience, but after playing it extensively, my brain tends to gravitate towards the latter.
I am a bit scared to release this, but not because that this is a game that is yet to come out. In this instance, I am actually talking while playing and this is a new experience for me. Sure, I have talked in podcasts and where have you, but nowhere as crazy as in this instance. RMC said that he liked it, so I am moving ahead with this one!
We told you about the Wii Party U teaser site not that long ago, but now you can check out the full site! There are TONS of games to cover, so why not bone up on it right now?
Wondering just how much space Wii Party U will take up if you are interested in downloading instead of purchasing a retail copy? Better clear up 5.414 GB's worth of space on your Wii U now. Not a huge amount, but not a paltry sum either!
Turn your living room into a party playground with 80+ all-new Wii Party U games that will get everyone off the couch. Every kind of fun you can think of is under one roof with Wii Party U™, which includes a Wii Remote™ Plus and a horizontal stand for your Wii U™ GamePad controller.
What kind of party will you throw?
House Party
Get the whole room laughing with fun contests that take full advantage of the GamePad: like a game show that tests how well people know each other or a dance party that will have you circling the floor with partners.
TV Party
Gather your friends and family around the TV. Up to four players can use their Mii characters in different board game challenges to play 65 different minigames.
Game Pad Party
Shut the TV off and go head-to-head with one other player in 14 GamePad tabletop minigames, which range from foosball to baseball to slot-car racing.
The party doesn’t end there, of course. You can also play any of the minigames in Minigame mode, post reviews and comments to the Miiverse™, and even check in with the always-helpful Party Phil for customized suggestions.
