CCP's virtual-reality star fighter EVE: Valkyrie is also in development for Sony's recently announced VR headset, Project Morpheus.

Though CCP and Oculus VR had announced a co-publishing agreement for the game, a spokesperson from CCP has told Polygon that the exclusive partnership only extends to the PC version of the game, for use with the Oculus Rift headset.

"We partnered with Oculus VR to bring EVE: Valkyrie exclusively to the Oculus Rift on PC and we are thrilled to be working with Sony to bring EVE: Valkyrie to the PS4 with Project Morpheus," a CCP spokesperson said.

EVE: Valkyrie, previously known as EVE VR, is a multiplayer space fighting action game within the universe of the MMO EVE Online, designed with virtual reality in mind. CCP's VR title is expected to arrive on PC sometime in 2014. [Image: CCP]

I'm not going into great detail on this leak, simply because we don't know if Assassin's Creed has a future on Wii U. We do know that the codenames for the two Assassin's Creed projects this year are Unity (seen above, XB1/PS4) and Comet (PS3/360). If you'd like to read more about this leak, hit up the link below. Remember, no confirmation of this title heading to Wii U yet.

Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. has today released stunning 1080p gameplay footage from upcoming platformer-adventure Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty.

The gameplay footage, which shows off the game’s dynamic lighting, organic animation and special effects, is designed to showcase the vast improvements made over the original Abe’s Oddysee, on which New ‘n’ Tasty is based.

The trailer also incorporates some of the new music the game features, alongside the explosive new sound design that really brings the world of Mudos to life.

“This really is taking the game above and beyond what we thought would be possible,” said Stewart Gilray, CEO at developer Just Add Water. “We’re so excited to finally show what we’ve been working so hard to produce”.

The footage is accompanied by eight new 1080p screenshots, taken from the areas shown in the trailer.

Released in 1997, Abe’s Oddysee won numerous awards. The ground-up remake, in development at UK studio Just Add Water and creatively directed by Lorne Lanning, expands on the much-loved classic in every way possible.

New ‘n’ Tasty is coming soon to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation VITA with PC, Wii U, Mac and Linux versions to follow.

See http://www.oddworld.com for more.

Oculus Rift, get your Oculus Rift, here! Well, not here, but those ready to take the plunge into virtual reality can now pre-order the second version of the headset's developer kit via the Oculus company site. Nabbing one will cost you $350, and shipments are expected in July of this year.

The new kit - and the site stresses this is a kit, not a consumer product - features low-persistence OLED displays at a resolution of 960 x 1080 per eye, as well as positional head tracking via an external camera. The Developer Kit 2 announcement on the Oculus website notes that this opens up such possibilities as "peering around corners, leaning in to get a closer look at objects in the world, and kicking back on a virtual beach."

"DK2 is not the Holodeck yet," the company states on the kit's announcement page, "but it's a major step in the right direction." [Image: Oculus]

Hello PlayStation Fans! My name is Chuck Doud, and I’m the Music Director here at SCEA WWS. With only two days left until the launch of inFAMOUS Second Son, I’d like to take the time to introduce you all to PlayStation’s state-of-the-art music and sound studio and give you a behind-the-scenes look into the production of the soundscape of Second Son.

This video highlights the type of sound and score we produced for inFAMOUS Second Son in close collaboration with Brad Meyer, Audio Director at Sucker Punch Productions. As you play through the game and experience Delsin’s story, the score and sound will guide you through the his explorations and combat encounters. You’ll dive into Delsin, discovering his superhuman powers and feeling his exhilaration as he takes on the Department of Unified Protection.

It’s been nearly a year since the entire PlayStation team transitioned into their current San Mateo headquarters, and we’re excited to share our new audio facility, which is specifically built as a centralized music and sound studio to accommodate close collaboration between our Music and Sound teams — and our developers across the globe — to support WWS products. Our studio is equipped with two control rooms (7.1 and a 5.1), two dedicated live recording rooms, and 17 individual 5.1 audio edit suites (or pods, as we like to call them). These facilities allow us to produce industry-leading music and sound, providing a deep level of integration with our development teams and the artists we work with.

Our team has produced incredible scores and sound for some of your favorite franchises and games, including the God of War series, the inFAMOUS series, Journey, The Last of Us, The Unfinished Swan, and the Uncharted series. For each game, the team has worked with top talent in the industry to produce custom dynamic and immersive experiences through sound and music. Most recently, we worked with Nathan Johnson, best known for his work in Looper and Brick, Marc Canham and Brain for Second Son, Gustavo Santaolla for The Last Of Us and Austin Wintory for Journey. Everything we do is for our gamers, and we’re extremely proud of all the incredible responses we’ve received from fans.

As a thank you, we want to share an exclusive track from inFAMOUS Second Son called “The Vandal King.” You can find this track and more on the inFAMOUS Second Son – Original Soundtrack, which is now available digitally on iTunes. The soundtrack will also be offered as a physical CD starting on March 25th through Amazon.com — but you can head over and pre-order it now.

Oh, those sneaky monkeys. First-person adventure Ether One hasn’t quite launched on its journey to the centre of a dementia damaged mind, but they’ve released a launch trailer anyway. That’s a good week before the game is out. I’ll allow this: they’ve just added the review version to my Steam account, so it’s technically out there, and I am the most important person in the world. It also helps that the brief play I had of the game very encouraging. View the trailer with with working eyes below.

Now we finally have a much easier way of figuring out how much space a game takes up instead of buying it and someone finding out first-hand. Wii U eShop info pages now include file sizes for games. You just have to make sure you let the page fully load before you can see the info. Thanks to LSF22 and Andrew for the heads up!
