Broforce Explodes Onto Steam Early Access

Hey bro, wanna bro out with some video games? Like any real bro, I love my VGs and I love them even more when I can get my bro on with my bros! The lesson here is: even if you’re doing something ironically, you are still doing it and should feel bad (I certainly do). So look, Broforce really is named Broforce and it does star 1980s and ’90s action heroes with bro-ised names like MacBrover, B.A. Broracus, and Brobocop.

If references to popular culture from when you were younger sets you off into fits of giggles, you’ll adore it. However, if you can get past the questionable bro spin, it is some pretty pleasant shooty platformer fun, and something you may wish to cast an eye over now it’s on Steam Early Access.

I’m excited to announce that PlayStation is now the Official Gaming Partner of Top Rank Boxing, the world’s leading boxing promotions company. As a part of this new partnership, the PlayStation brand will be featured front and center during several premier Top Rank events that will be broadcast live on Pay-Per-View, HBO and Unimas (a part of the Univision Network).

Top Rank promotes some of the biggest boxing events in the world, including the World Welterweight Championship rematch between “Fighter of the Decade” Manny Pacquiao and undefeated two-division world champion Timothy Bradley. Greatness awaits these incredible athletes when they match up on April 12, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In addition to Pacquiao vs. Bradley 2, PlayStation will be featured in the June 7 match-up at Madison Square Garden between three-time-division champ Miguel Cotto and reigning middleweight champ Sergio Martinez. Additional events to feature PlayStation integration include the May 17 bout between Juan Manuel Marquez and Mike Alvarado at the Forum in Los Angeles.

The main event is right around the corner and we can’t wait to have the PlayStation brand highlighted in front of the millions of boxing fans around the world.

I am an Air Traffic Controller Airport Hero Hawaii - review

A portion of a Nintendo Life review...

I am an Air Traffic Controller Airport Hero Hawaii is a tough game to judge. Beneath its oddly worded wrapper lies a sim that was obviously crafted with care toward the details of the job. It’s this strict adherence to the details and calls for perfection, however, that make it difficult to recommend to everyone, especially at a relatively high launch price point.

Capcom's thrice-updated one-on-one fighting game Ultra Street Fighter 4 will hit Japanese arcades later this month, Dengeki Online reports (via Siliconera).

Ultra Street Fighter 4 includes five new characters (Elena, Rolento, Poison, Hugo, and the recently unveiled Decapre), bumping the playable roster up to 44 combatants. The game also features an array of fixes and balance tweaks, along with new mechanics like the invincibility-extending Red Focus attack and an optional Double Ultra mode.

The arcade version of Ultra Street Fighter 4 will launch on April 17. Ports for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms are slated to arrive later this year at retail and as DLC for Super Street Fighter 4.

- new Bandai Namco listing for “Smash Bros. 6” job recruitments
- looking for programmers
- expected to be released sometime in 2015 for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS
- project currently has 120 people working on it
- expect that number to increase to 200
- programmers needed to handle characters, stages, 3D programming, motion, game mode, mini-games, menu, UI, and more
- the posting is now removed, but has been confirmed to be put online by Tatsuya Matsumura, a consultant

“Social games are currently a big hit, but the current state of job opportunities for making retail games is critically low. In the midst of this, this will likely be your only chance to be part of a development project for the Smash Bros. [series], which has surpassed a total of 10 million in worldwide sales. And Bandai Namco believes that now is the best time to recruit programmers for retail games.”

Cannes, Paris—April 7, 2014—The Pokémon Company International kicked off MIPTV by announcing its newest feature-length animated film, Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, which is now available for license. The movie features Ash and Pikachu, plus other classic Pokémon as well as those making their animation debut from the blockbuster Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games. With more broadcast and VOD partners signed, brand-new TV animation in homes, and the new movie on the horizon, 2014 promises to be a strong year for Pokémon animation.

Pokémon’s expanded VOD offerings include deals with Netflix and Hulu. Fans in all Netflix territories have enjoyed classic Pokémon seasons and movies since content launched in March, and fan favorite Pokémon animation also debuted on Hulu in the US this February. The Netflix and Hulu deals come after The Pokémon Company International launched the Pokémon TV application for iOS and Android devices in 2013.

Fans in Russia will once again enjoy their favorite animated episodes, as Pokémon and the Russian free-to-air broadcaster 2X2 recently signed a deal to begin airing Pokémon the Series: XY this September. The season, which is already airing in numerous markets around the world, brings the total number of Pokémon episodes to nearly 800. 2X2 joins European partners including CITV in the UK, Gulli in France, K2 in Italy, YEP! in Germany, Clan TV in Spain, TV4 in Sweden, TV2 in Norway, VT4 and Club RTL in Belgium, and Disney XD in markets across Europe. Other broadcast partners are Cartoon Network in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America; Eleven in Australia; etv in South Africa; and YTV in Canada.

A leading children’s entertainment franchise, Pokémon features a wide array of offerings including video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, animation, and various licensed products. Pokémon X and Pokémon Y recently became the fastest-selling video games for the Nintendo 3DS system, selling nearly 12 million copies worldwide since their October 2013 launch and adding to the more than 245 million Pokémon video games sold to date. With more than 20 billion Pokémon TCG cards shipped globally and animation licensed for broadcast in more than 160 countries and in more than 30 languages, Pokémon is a long-standing hit among fans around the world.

The Pokémon Company International is excited to meet new and existing partners at MIPTV at stand P0.A20.
