"Even in those fantasy realms, luxuries can confer status.  “People get some kind of satisfaction or kudos from showing the power of their latest watch or car,” Mr. Fletcher noted.

Small wonder then, that virtual worlds seem to be breeding a generation of high rollers, who, for fees that rarely exceed the cost of a few Netflix rentals or a monthly utility bill, can acquire an online persona that is unassailably chic."

I remember when I played roblox and spent like 100 dollars on builder's club,
Shit sucked.

Thw only time I ever paid for online avatar clothes is when I bought a pair of $1 steam punk goggles for my 360 Mii because I had an extra 80 points lying around and I wanted to see how the store works. I probably won't buy anything else unless they release something *crag*ing amazing. Like TF2 wear, which they will never do.

"Oh man, I can't wait for the New Pork map for Fat Princess. It'll probably cost money and not come out until next year." Well, fictional person made up for this blog post, you are wrong! New Pork, a brand new map revealed during PAX, will be available to all players this Thursday, 10/29, as part of the upcoming 1.03 patch. In addition to the new map, the patch tweaks a number of issues and even introduces two new control methods. "Two new control schemes have been implemented to allow players to use the R1 button to attack and to free the player's right hand for target switching. This is AWESOME," says the PlayStation Blog.Additionally, the no-blood mode now features candy confetti -- a delicious way to kill opponents and make your parents happy. If that's not reason enough to log back on, we don't know what is.

Glad they are updating this game. It was fun, but it got old real quick. What it really needs is a split-screen option.
Popple
I need to get back in this now that I found my headset. If you could actually get two teams that were organized and knew what the *crag* they were you could have a lot of fun with it. Hell, it is still pretty fun even without that.

Whenever someone uses the special effects in the more text window, a note should be displayed on the topic list letting you know the post has enhanced graphics. Also, when a user you've hidden makes a post or reply, instead of just being invisible it is replaced with a message saying that the user posted here, giving you a button to view the individual post without unhiding the user.

Personally, I think both these features would help reduce confusion.

Francis
I'm still not really sure how best to show when a post is "enhanced". I am considering not showing the text at all (or a very small snippet), requiring you to click to view the whole post.

thumbs up to you. but why does everthing turn blue when i post a reply or something?

Francis
A topic flashes blue whenever there is a new reply. It probably should not do it when it is you that made the post, but, whatever.

I strip out all the formatting in the list of topics, so things don't get crazier than they already are. You have to click on the topic's title to see the full post with image.

They're putting CS weapons in the German version of L4D2 for censorship.

Fallen Shade
Why do they need both CS sniper-rifles, there both going to be used the same exact *crag*ing way.

It was only for a day anyway. And even then that only really effected me for like 5 hours before I even had a chance to learn this information.

I bought a CD from a band that was in Borderlands instead of any band that was in Brutal Legend.

Brutal Legend has over 50 songs.

Borderlands has roughly,1.

Our somewhat boring day took a turn for the legendary when we received an Aksys press release informing us that the beefcake-infused side-scrolling shooter, Cho Aniki Zero, would appear on the PSP as a PSN download (exclusively) next Spring. The legendary-ness arose not as a result of our excitement for the game (which is immeasurable in its own right), but due to the content of the press release itself. The entire release can be found after the jump, but we've culled our favorite phrases, forming the following poignant, beautiful found poem: Exaltation. Oiled up and ready to thrust. Epic struggle. Muscle-bounded forces. Manliness. Another dimension of sights and sounds. Heightened experiences of rhythmic action. Man-rageous. Brotherly love. Muscle-on-muscle madness. Man-tastic voyage. Man Protein. The greatest bromances of all time. (Snaps.)

EDIT: Apparently, according to Joystiq, the word "hyper-omega-gay" is interchangeable with manly. .-.

Bet you weren't expecting that. I won't beat about the bush, as there really isn't much arrangement or deviation in these conversions of classic rock tracks, but Tim did a sweet job of bringing them to the SNES.
