I can no longer stand by and watch the dictatorial behavior by would-be president Fortran tear this great community to pieces. Where did the days of high activity and low moderation go? The days of Mario Party after Mario Party? The days of open discussion and development of promising new features and the promise of our websites evolution? As your President I swear to restore knowledge, unity, and above all else, POWER to our great forums!

SIC SEMPER FORTRAN!!!

That's Ph1r3 App Inventor for Android's visual block language to you, Mario

Gonna have a hard time running that C++ binary on other platforms. CIL binaries can run anywhere with Mono. Also we have the cutest tan ever.

#include <iostream>

using namespace std;

string vote;

//Function to determine election winner

void ballotAnalysis(string str);

int main(){

   cout << "Please Enter A Candidate Your Wish To Elect:\n";

   cin >> vote;

   ballotAnalysis(vote);
}

void ballotAnalysis(string str){
  if(str == "Dimfish" || str == "Dim" || str == "Vacation Claus" || str == "Claus" || str == "Super-Dimento" ){
     cout << "Thank You For Voting Valued Citizen!";
  }

 else{
    cout << "ERROR: UNRECOGNIZED ENTRY";
 }
}

you've already lost for using the std namespace
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 00:52 GMT
you also didn't return from the main function even though compilers take care of that anyway nowadays but still, sloppy. how can anyone trust a sloppy president?
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 00:57 GMT
oh please, by C++11 the standard one would expect any compiler, modern or not, to handle something so minuscule, unlike with a CERTAIN programming language which requires such incredibly wasteful and space consuming coding practices that one questions why it has become the darling of modern game developers, aside from the fact that most of them were nursed of a Java Bottle that was forced upon them by the very same regime that lead to your conception, and that you are the closest thing they can understand to a halfway decent OOPL

The beauty of CIL is if you don't feel like using C#, you can use any other CIL language, and they'll talk to each other like nothing. Try that with C++ and you'll have to go though an FFI. Not to mention C# is far more similar to C++11 than it is to Java, except it compiles to CIL so a binary works anywhere with Mono, and Mono is everywhere. How can people trust such a misinformed president?
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 01:14 GMT
Except that as long as one takes care to make sure that the compiled code only contains CIL instructions, C++ works fine with mono and its whole C interface.
Reply by Super-Claus Mar 09 2015 01:25 GMT
you mean C++/CLI? That implicitly uses P/Invokes and I think it's also non-standard and kind of old and nobody uses it.

<?xml version="1.0"?>

Who was the forty-second president of the U.S.A.?

William Jefferson Clinton

take that

wait, it disappeared

there must be a disappearer wizard secretly running as a third party, what an asshole

well the point still stands that I'm far more flexible than your young languages give me credit for, but lets talk portability shall we? If we're truly to carry this website forward into the future we need languages that not only have high performance under any circumstance, but also can stand on their own two feet in any instance. In these categories I and my running mate, XML, hold our own

wait shit ph1r3 you *crag*ed it up god dammit
Reply by Super-Claus Mar 09 2015 01:40 GMT
And it will not let up until the clouds are clear, until it finds my dreams have disappeared
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 01:43 GMT
what?
Reply by Super-Claus Mar 09 2015 01:45 GMT
This language doesn't even know the lyrics to the Metal Gear Rising soundtrack, how does anyone expect him to run a website, I ask you?
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 01:53 GMT
i'm sorry i couldn't hear the lyrics over all the zandatsu sound effects, because unlike this corporate shill I actually play video games and don't just look up what reddit and 4chan find most like-able about them.

Sorry claus, just following the laws of the wild.

you just can't handle...

That Giant Intellect~

Actually, it's me that I spite as I sit down and write. C# is the only thing I know for real.
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 02:17 GMT

Why can't we all just get along

Reply by Doopliss Mar 09 2015 03:56 GMT

Know my power

Reply by Slappy Mar 09 2015 04:00 GMT
Because C++ doesn't have a kawaii-ass mascot (even if it's better than C#)
Reply by Fortran Mar 09 2015 04:31 GMT

what are you talking about~

I prefer a woman to a girl anyways
