It seems like Ace Attorney fans have been riding a wave of good news as of late. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies is headed to the US/EU at breakneck speed, the 3DS eShop will be receiving extended content and costumes, and it’s coming out at a lower than expected price ($29.99 / €24.99.) But there was one last piece of the puzzle that needed to fall into place… and that piece is: OCTOBER 24TH.

Yep, yep! Just one week or so before Halloween, players may once again don the badge of the acest of all attorneys, Phoenix Wright, taking to courtrooms and crime scenes in order to uncover clues, present evidence, and do battle with puzzling injustice.

Of course Phoenix will be joined by familiar cohorts like Apollo Justice, as well as the all-new associate attorney Athena Cykes, so let’s follow that fresh aroma to a character we haven’t officially revealed before...

We’ve also got come new screenshots today, many of which offer updated looks at Apollo, Athena and prosecutor Simon Blackquill in action. However, longtime fans might be more excited to see your first glimpse at Pearl Fey in Dual Destinies:

In case you’ve been keeping up with the release of Gyakuten Saiban 5, known as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies in this part of the world, we wanted to keep you updated on the news coming out of Japan. Will English speakers be receiving “Turnabout Return, ” the additional playable episode and/or the alternate costume pack DLC? We’re happy to nod an emphatic, very Phoenix-esque "YEP!"

Following Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies’ arrival on the Nintendo 3DS eShop this Fall, players will absolutely be able to playand purchase the additional content in western territories! Ichi the Killer director Takashi Miike delivers a pitch-perfect adaptation of the DS video game Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

It's hard to believe the director of Iichi the Killer and Audition, both notoriously violent (and awesome) films, is behind the lens of Capcom's now-filming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney movie, but it's true.

After Miike casually mentioned this as his next project earlier in the week, Capcom has confirmed Miike's the one helping bring Phoenix Wright to life. Capcom plans to release the film (at least in Japan) in spring 2012, but as the news is coming out of Japan, there's no word so far on whether this film will make it outside of there.

Capcom did release Keiji Inafune's wacky live-action Dead Rising production over Xbox Live, though, so anything's possible.

Capcom's also detailed a few bits of casting, including Hiroki Narimiya as Phoenix Wright, Takumi Saito as Miles Edgeworth and Mirei Kiritani as Maya Fey. Is that good casting? You tell me, guys.
