The wait is finally almost over: the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack is out today on PlayStation Store! This all-new pack will allow you to use your PS Vita as a controller on LittleBigPlanet 2 and play the game in a new and exciting way. Check out the new trailer for the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller pack to see just what adventures Sackboy will be getting up to in this new pack!

Not only will you be able to play through Sackboy’s grand new adventure, we’ll also be giving you a brand new set of tools and other goodies to enable you to make your very own LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller levels!

Sackboy’s latest adventure is chock full of a wonderful array of goodies that we know you all can’t wait to hear to find out about, so here’s a rundown of just what you’ll be getting.

• A Brand New Story – Our new theme will see Sackboy travelling across the Omniverse to discover the lost treasure!
• Five Costumes – Sackboy will be fully kitted out for his new adventure with five brand new costumes! Don’t forget about our Cross-Buy Costumes! If you purchase this pack, these costumes will also work on LittleBigPlanet PS Vita and will become available in LittleBigPlanet Karting in a future update!
• Four New Tools – The Worm Hole, the Vitanator, the Remote Tag Sensor and the Tag Radar are all available to help you create your own Cross-Controller experience.
• Creative Goodies – 26 Objects, 25 Materials, 74 Decorations, 148 Stickers, three Interactive Music Tracks and one Background are all waiting to be picked up by your Sackboy to add to their Popit to help fulfil their creative needs.
• Five Tutorials – Finishing up the Cross-Controller Pack, we have five brand new tutorials all voiced by LittleBigPlanet’s favourite narrator, Stephen Fry. These should really help you get to grips with the new tools and Sackboy’s headfirst dive into Cross-Controller gameplay!

The Worm Hole is Sackboy’s brilliant new teleportation tool that will enable him to travel safely from one Worm Hole to another within the same level without fear of losing a life.

This handy new tool will even allow Sackboy to teleport from your PS3 to your PS Vita and vice-versa, should you want him to return home. The most intuitive and creative level designers will even be able to use the tool to remove Sackboy from gameplay and effectively lock him in a state of stasis whilst action is taking place elsewhere in the level…However we’ll leave it up to you and Sackboy to discover just what potential his new Worm Hole discovery holds for LittleBigPlanet and the rest of the Omniverse!

Sackboy has his brand new mission, so head on over to the Store today and you can pick up the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, available for the PS3 for $4.99. Just a friendly reminder, you will need a PS3, PS Vita and a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 for the new DLC pack. If you don’t already have a copy of LBP 2, there are a couple of easy ways to pick up a copy at a really great value. It’s currently a free PSN download for all PS Plus members, and starting today it will also be available for $13.99 as part of the Holiday Essentials Sale on PlayStation Store until December 24th.

December sees yet another awesome addition to LittleBigPlanet 2 — the Cross-Controller Pack — making LittleBigPlanet 2 the first game to support this exciting new feature!

But what is Cross-Controller? Well, Cross-Controller lets you to use PS Vita as a controller for PlayStation 3, allowing the use of PS Vita-only features, like front and rear touch, in PlayStation 3 games. More importantly, it provides a whole second screen where action can take place! This allows for an unimaginable number of new ways to play, some of which you’ll experience with the LittleBigPlanet 2 Cross-Controller Pack!

In the LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack, Sackboy joins up with a group of lovable Space Pirates as they race to find a valuable treasure long thought lost to the Cosmos. On their adventure they’ll encounter new obstacles that can only be overcome with the help of PS Vita’s unique features.

As well as a new adventure for Sackboy to take part in, players can get their hands on a suite of new tools that let them create Cross-Controller levels for the community to play.

The LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack will be available via download on PSN Tuesday, December 18th for $4.99, and requires a PlayStation 3, a copy of LittleBigPlanet 2 and a PS Vita.

The World Peace Day Costume Returns

This month will see the return of World Peace Day. To commemorate the occasion, we will be re-releasing our World Peace Day Costume onto the PlayStation Store next week.

The World Peace Costume will be free and will only be available for one week, so don’t delay in picking it up!

Just a quick reminder that the Create-A-Level contest sponsored by Progressive ends next week, on September 4th, so be sure to publish your level to the community for a chance to win a PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita with a 4GB memory card, and copies of LittleBigPlanet Karting and LittleBigPlanet PS Vita, as well as both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as soon as the game is released.

Community Spotlight – Sackinima

Let’s start the week with another community spotlight. This time, we’re tipping our collective hats to the cool guys who run the Sackinima YouTube Channel.

Sackinima features an impressive collection of videos including machinima and community-level videos. With special permission, they even released some amazing gameplay videos from the recent LittleBigPlanet Vita beta, which showcased some of the amazing talent seen in the beta.

Summer Games Fan Wallpapers

Finally, we jump straight back to our perpetually energetic community!

The folks over at LittleBigLand have really gotten into the Summer Games spirit, by producing a set of wallpapers showcasing each of the events in the LittleBigPlanet Summer Games Costume Pack.

Dive-In
The Dive-In feature has now been moved to the top of the Community menu, and has been vastly rewired and improved to help players easily find some new Sackfolk to play with during their adventures!

Boo-Be-Gone
To help encourage creativity, we have removed the Boos from the Level Rating System. You can still Yay a level to say that you really liked it, but we found that the Boo ratings were disheartening at best, and could be used to cause grief amongst the community.

If you happen to find something you don’t like because it’s rude or mean or just plain offensive, then hit the Select Button and use the Good Grief System to report it to our moderation team.

Comments & Reviews
If you have just played a level and wish to provide the creator with some helpful feedback, then you can still use the level’s comments section or perhaps leave a nice and informative review for the entire community to read.

If you’re a busy creator though and would like to take a break from the reviews and comments on your level, you can now choose to disable reviews and/or comments on your profile and levels via the Settings Page on LBP.me. You won’t lose anything though, it will just block people from seeing them, or adding more, until you re-enable it again.

Music is one of the most popular, but least talked-about, parts of LittleBigPlanet Create. We have a great community of dedicated composers who love nothing more than to create original music using the Music Sequencer for people to use in their levels, or just for the fun of it!

The newly formed LittleBigAudio team have put together a YouTube Channel containing over 300 Songs and nearly 20 hours of original music all made in LittleBigPlanet, here’s a sample…

These musically minded folks promise to continue composing and adding their latest sounds to LittleBigAudio! Check back regularly to hear their latest releases!

Puppet Circus [watch the video] was perhaps the most ‘traditional’ level I played (if that word even has any meaning in LBP anymore!). A cute, fairground-themed platformer which serves to introduce you to all of the the Vita’s controls. Tilt we’ve experienced in LBP before but what impressed me was how natural the touch interactions felt. Everything seemed instantly familiar and always like it was enhancing my experience rather than getting in the way.

There have been high levels of LittleBigPlanet activity on the interwebs lately, so here’s a quick link-o-rama to get your LBP fix…

LittleBigPlanet for the PS Vita was recently on stage at the EB Games Expo in Australia with a full on walk through of a “Vita-fied” level filled with front touch, tilt, rear touch, and of course, trademark Sackboy frolicking… If you haven’t seen LBP for PS Vita in motion, check it out here.

Weekend Pursuits – For those of you who live for the weekends, here’s a set of costumes that will get you ready for the great outdoors. The “Weekend Pursuits” costumes pack is available now!

Since the launch of the LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack, our community has gone crazy playing, creating, and sharing with a whole new Move perspective. And with all the new LBP2 activity, we’ve been getting a lot of questions, so we figure we’d put together a quick FAQ to answer all your pressing Move Pack questions:

Q: Is there a list of everything I get with the LBP2 Move Pack?

Q: Are there any reviews that I can read before I buy the Move Pack?
A: Here’s our favorite: “It might just be the killer app the (Move) hardware requires” – Joystiq

Q: Can I play all the new user-generated “Move” levels, even though I didn’t buy the LBP2 Move Pack?
A: Yup. Update 1.06 lets anyone who has LBP2 to play all the ‘move capable’ user-generated content online, as well as everything else (original LBP2 story mode, regular user-generated content, etc). But we have to say you’ll be missing out on all the great new story levels and extra goodies.

Q: Can me and my three friends (four total) still play LBP2 together with the all new Move controls?
A: Yes, but only three players can use the all new Move controls. The fourth player will need a standard DualShock3 controller.

Q: I have more questions…
A: Most likely, these guys have more answers!

Today’s the day! The LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Pack will be available later today on the PlayStation Store refresh. The epic downloadable pack includes tons of new gadgets and tools, giving you the power to CREATE games for your PlayStation Move motion controller, which eventually means that tons of user-generated PlayStation Move-enabled games will be available to everyone for free via PSN. But most importantly, the Move Pack contains an epic new storyline titled “Rise of the Cakeling!” See what’s in store in our new Story trailer below.

The LittleBigPlanet 2: Rise of the Cakeling Move Pack (add-on) will be available for $9.99 in the US. Note that you must have LittleBigPlanet 2 in order to play it.

With LittleBigPlanet making its way to the PS Vita, we have lots to more features to share. Stay tuned as we highlight different features over the next few months.
