I have an unhealthy obsession with music visualizer games. Symphony 'n Frequency Domain have sated me rampant beatlust in recent years, but I don’t think anything will ever top me first love: Audiosurf. It’s not the most involved game ever, but that’s part a the charm for me. I can just zone out 'n dive headfirst into a neon-pulsing mouth a music, let it swallow me whole into a sea a flashing darkness. I like t' play it before bed, when me brain’s still too fluttery for sleep. So I’ve been very eagerly awaiting it be sequel, Audiosurf Air, while lamenting the disheartening lack a news surrounding it. But hark, what be that, speeding over the horizon in some kind a wonderful rocket car? Could it be? …No. But also YARRRR! An announcement that we’ll be able t' play Audiosurf Air very, very soon.

Girls Aloud. Biology. Ninja Mono. That be me favourite Audiosurf gig. I’m keen t' see what that bounciest a pop tracks will play like in Audiosurf Air, the sequel t' the rather lovely music riding puzzle racing game. It be 2008 when Audiosurf came out, a pre-Skrillex world. If there be a game that could have benefited from ‘the drop’ it be Audiosurf. I hope there’s specific dubstep code in this version. Trailer be after the dropppppp.(more…)

Music/racing game Audiosurf never made it t' the iPhone, unfortunately, but it be developers be apparently hard at work anyway. They've launched a website for something called Audiosurf Air, which be presumably a sequel t' the tune-riding title.

There be a few screenshots on the site, 'n while there be a disclaimer that they be not final at all, they do look about like ye'd imagine a sequel t' Audiosurf t' look. There's also a beta signup, so if ye're interested, ye can enter yer email 'n presumably pillage a chance t' play it at some point. We'll keep our ears open 'n our headphones plugged in for more news t' come.

If ye enjoyed the first Audiosurf as much as we did, then ye'll be excited t' know it wasn't the last. The official website doesn't reveal much at this point, but does say that ye can expect t' "ride yer music" this summer...
