Coming from Sumo Digital...

An update on the Wii U too, SEGA have confirmed the issues are fixed and it's currently over with Nintendo. We're hoping it will go live very soon!

Hopefully we'll see that patch applied this week. Thanks to Autosaver for the heads up!

...it doesn't change the fact that Transformed is a largely improved sequel over its predecessor, and that one wasn't so bad to begin with. The old Sega is still in the new Sega, and that's a fun thought.

I haven't put the reveal in the post, because I am sure that there are people out there who don't want this to be spoiled. If you want to know what you will get, when you boot up the game on December 25, feel free to read on at the link below. This is confirmed to work on the Wii U version!

A portion of a SPOnG review...

Pros:
Tonnes of unlockable content and depth
Innovative, inspiring track design
Simply fantastic presentation

Cons:
Character roster is largely a missed opportunity
Some framerate drops in places
Perhaps the process of hopping online is too simplified

Transformed is the perfect arcade racer for those that feel left out by Forza and Need for Speed’s latest open-world, multiplayer focused outings. Sega has cherry-picked the best elements of kart racers and applied it to the best arcade racing games to create a sleeper hit that’s great fan service and great fun.

Sumo Digital has already acknowledged the problem above and say they're looking into it.

I've mentioned this on NeoGAF, but we're looking into the Wii U Boost Challenge and Ninja Tag issue (and any other non-race game mode). To cut a long story short there was a problem with the update which went live on Sunday - and we're working to get it sorted ASAP.

Thanks to AutoSaver for the heads up!

A portion of a Eurogamer review...

Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is one of those games now, too. It's managed to step out of Mario Kart's shadow, for sure, but the real achievement is one that's going to be much more thrilling for the Sega fans it so eagerly panders to. This manages to be more than just a tribute to the great and good of Sega's past - it does enough to earn its own place alongside them.

Sumo Digital was asked about voice chat in Sonic and All-Stars Transformed after the Wii U voice chat news came out. Here's what Sumo Digital had to say.

We don't support voice chat on WiiU for those reasons, one of the side effects of being a launch title basically.

Maybe if the game gets another sequel, we can hope for some online chat. Not this time around, I'm afraid. Thanks to Autosaver for the heads up!

- The Sonic & All-Stars Racing Wii U demo at GDC was 3 weeks old. They were to busy working on the game to put together a new demo.

- The Wii U version is "probably the best looking one, the most developed."

- The hardware lets them do all kinds of things

- Wii U has a British Bull dog style multiplayer mode
