I’m still pretty shocked to see that the Big N is remaking The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I didn’t think Nintendo would ever get back to remaking that title, yet we were all surprised at E3 2010 by the appearance of the game in trailer form. Nintendo is indeed remaking one [...]

D3 Publisher no longer plans to release God Eater in North America or Europe. But it's all right, because we're going to get the updated version of the action RPG, God Eater Burst, instead.
Now scheduled for a first-quarter release in North America next year and for an unspecified date in 2011 in Europe (published by Namco Bandai), God Eater Burst includes "more than twice the number of missions in the original God Eater," along with a new "Burst Mode" that can be used to temporarily power up characters' "Devouring Attacks."

"If you've ever wondered what a god tastes like," the press release teases, "you won't have to wait long to find out." And we thought it was just a clever name!

Update: Apparently, the PAX ticketing site was displaying the sold out message due to a glitch. Three-day badges are still available for $55 for the time being. We apologize for the confusion.

Previous post:
Looking for a sign that you've been hesitating too long to register for PAX Prime? The event's stockpile of $55 three-day badges are now sold out, leaving only $35 single-day passes for all you slowpokes. If you're going, you better act fast -- these things have a tendency to sell like hotcakes.

A portion of a Nintendo Life review… While it seems like there’s a large amount of activities to occupy the player, it mainly amounts to repeating the same so-so mini-games. Somewhat interesting pet maintenance and skill development break up the monotony, and but altogether it never manages to be more than slightly above average.

CVG is posting new footage of Metroid: Other M all week, starting with a weird cutscene depicting Samus as a space baby. We're happy to see these videos now, but we're also slightly hesitant, knowing that we're going to see them again as unskippable in-game FMV.

Though Ubisoft never officially declared a release window for upcoming Driver reboot, Driver: San Francisco, it appears that the title has been pushed back to early 2011. The company declared as much in today's quarterly earnings report, citing "the competitive market at Christmas" as the reason for the apparent delay. Driver: San Francisco is now scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2011 (January-March). And just like that, once again, we've got an increasingly busy first half lined up for the coming year.

Nope, you're never, ever, ever gonna catch up on that backlog. Ever.

The Resurgence Package is here! The second game add-on for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available on PSN, and brings with it five additional multiplayer maps, including some of the most unique and awesome places you’ll ever have a firefight.

As always, we’re focused on bringing a little something for everyone in the Resurgence Package. Take Carnival, a desolate and large amusement park that’s perfect for objective gametypes and offers some amazing vantage points atop the wooden roller coaster “Dragon’s Den” or the looming sniper spot positioned high above “The World Of Tomorrow.” This place is like nothing you’ve ever seen in multiplayer before, with distinct locations all around the map which are perfect for calling out enemy positions and working tactically with your team.

Fuel is a sniper’s haven in this massive desert oil refinery with wide-open areas and extremely long sightlines. If you’re running and gunning, stick to the buildings in the center or take the underground tunnel route to get out to the snipers in the surrounding rocks and oil pumps. Trailer Park is maze of thin sheet metal fencing, torn up trailer units, and cluttered recreation areas. Trailer Park is ideal for the FMJ mod, and offers some insane Headquarters matches due to the soft cover points and thin walls that surround the objectives. We’ve also brought back two more fan favorite and classic Call of Duty 4 maps; Vacant and Strike. We’ve made some key tactical changes to both maps that veteran Call of Duty 4 players will pick up and start taking advantage of immediately. Such as the opening of the back room by Objective point C in the marketplace on Strike, and the now more accessible top floor of the flower shop overlooking the main street. On Vacant, the back gate of the office complex that leads to the hallway will now be open on specific gametypes like Demolition to give the defending team a faster route to the objective.

That’s just a bit of the new details you’re about to discover when you jump online and start exploring the five new locations the Resurgence Package adds to Modern Warfare 2. You’ll also notice we’ve changed up the playlists to introduce some new game modes and accommodate the new maps. You can now choose to play exclusively on the new Resurgence maps by choosing one of the two Resurgence playlists at the bottom. Just like last time, Resurgence and Hardcore Resurgence offers a variety of game modes to play. We’ve also introduced two completely new mosh-pit style playlists called “Barebones Pro” and “Objective Barebones Pro” which both have Killstreak Rewards disabled. So set up a new create a class, strip off Cold Blooded because you won’t be needing that, and see what it’s like to go head-to-head with no air support to worry about.

Most importantly though, let us know what you think. We’ll continue to change up the playlists based on YOUR feedback. So if there is a gametype variant or cool combination you’d like to see in a future playlist update, be sure to follow me on Twitter (@fourzerotwo) to keep track of those changes and let us know your thoughts!

If you're familiar with the Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies will feel like a revolution to you, thanks changes brought in to accommodate its emphasis on multiplayer. If you're a casual or occasional RPG player, however, it's going to feel old-school to the point of being conventional. But it works well in either case: new players will find an unusually accessible, entirely pleasant RPG, while Dragon Quest diehards will delight in the addition of new features to the gameplay they've loved for years.

This week, WiiWare offers another reborn indie game. Toribash doesn't quite have the reputation of Cave Story, but it does have nonsensical violence and the ability to control fighters one limb at a time. If you're looking for something different from a fighting game, it doesn't get much more different than this. DSiWare also borrows some indie cred this week, with Jason Rohrer's iPhone puzzler Primrose moving to DS.

If you've been hankering for a better way to browse Xbox Live Arcade games -- a reasonable desire -- you're stuck waiting another week. Microsoft has delayed the launch of Destination Arcade, its new "recommendation engine & visual browser app," from this Wednesday to next Wednesday, July 21. Why yes, that is the first day of this year's Summer of Arcade promotion, which kicks off with Limbo.

In other words, you're going to have to wait an entire week before you can recommend Deadliest Warrior to your friends.
