Man, giant robots are such a hassle. They break everything, have no regard for my pristine white polar bear rug, and – oh yeah – they’re really goddamn big. Too big to fit in closets, on airplanes, or, apparently, on hard drives. That’s the only explanation I can muster for Titanfall‘s whopping 48 gigabyte hard drive requirement, given that it’s multiplayer-only, not exactly the nexest of “next-gen” games from a graphical standpoint, and isn’t utterly ridden with cut-scenes like, say, Max Payne 3. But then, maybe I’m jumping the sedan-sized gun on this one. After all, the exact nuts and bolts of Titanfall’s multiplayer story are still shrouded in mystery. Which is to say, a giant robot is standing in front of them, and it won’t get out of the way.

Survival sims might be unnerving conflict machines in this brutal modern era, but I remember a more affable time. Games like Lemmings and Brat placed the player in charge of vulnerable and mindless creatures (lemmings and babies, respectively), unable to control them directly but responsible for their continued existence. Back To Bed is a return to that gentler age, asking the player to protect a hapless sleepwalker in a strange world. Since we last looked, outside investment has allowed the student team to form a studio and they will now complete the game and begin work on its spiritual successor.

Diablo III‘s first expansion, Reaper of Souls, won’t explode forth from the Internet’s gleaming loot cavities for another month, but the free patch that includes a healthy chunk of its content is already here right now. Well, if you live in America. It’s not out in other regions yet, but it will be soon. It’s quite a behemoth, with loot of the 2.0 variety flowing from both its wazoos. Rebalanced classes and a new customizable difficulty system are also in, as are revamped bosses and a fully overhauled Paragon leveling system. Basically, this patch is Reaper of Souls’ blanched white backbone. More details below.

South Park is a series known for its ability to get away with quite a lot, but not everything. Add South Park: The Stick of Truth to the raucously raunchy series’ short list of consolations, as it’s had a few scenes nipped and tucked in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. You might feel inclined to curse up a storm, make a steaming pile of poop jokes, and then somehow come around to making a worthwhile point in response, but take a deep breath: the PC version is unaffected.
