Vienna, AUSTRIA (27th February 2014) – Yes, they do still exist: amazing games for the WiiU! Nordic Games announced today the highly acclaimed Darksiders II has found its way back onto the European Nintendo eShop, after almost one year’s absence.

Alarmed by the end of days, Death, the most feared of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, embarks on a quest to save humanity and to clear his brother War’s name. On his journey, Death discovers that there are evils even more terrible than an earthly apocalypse, and is quickly drawn into a war between powers that could destroy all of creation…

The fantastic action-adventure based around the campaign of the Horseman of the Apocalypse, Death, has delighted critics and gamers alike. With an average rating of 85 (according to Metacritic.com), Darksiders II is one of the most highly rated WiiU games ever. In addition to Death’s main adventure, the DLC add-ons "Argul's Tomb", "Death Rides", "Angel of Death", "Shadow of Death" and "Deadly Despair" are also included in the newly re-released version of the game.

Now that’s more like it. Choice! Side-missions! A hub! A strong supporting cast who are up for a bit of a chat! Little-to-no mandatory decking sequences! A mother-lovin’ save (almost) anywhere system! Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall being ‘just’ DLC for last year’s cyberpunk/fantasy mash-up RPG is bittersweet, because it may well be that only existing Shadowrun Returns owners give it a spin. Really, though, this is the point where new players are best off getting involved – a new, superior campaign with no ties to the last one, and quite a few of the major problems dealt with. Now’s the time to play Shadowrun Returns, basically, but please, start with this. … [visit site to read more]

Coming from a Nintendo Life interview with David Wise and Brendan Gunn...

"The rendering of each 3D model would take ages. We'd work till 11PM at night, go home and in the morning the image might have finished rendering — it took that long for these huge machines to do it." - Wise
"We had this massive air conditioning unit just to cool these SGI machines. We could all be suffering in the summer but as long as computer didn't overheat, it didn't matter.

I remember the first time I saw the rendered Donkey Kong model on-screen and it looked like a real, solid thing. In the old days, stuff used to be hand-drawn on tracing paper and then someone would have to draw a grid over it and decode it by hand, so rendering it saved a bit of effort in that respect." - Gunn

Gunn also talked about how Nintendo had little interference during the creation of Donkey Kong Country.

"The team was largely sheltered from outside pressures by the Stampers. We were aware that early on there was some wrangling over the look of Donkey Kong; we wanted to modernise the look and give him a different personality. Shigeru Miyamoto had some very strong ideas on what he should look like. Tim and Chris were very good at leaving us to it for long periods of time, and then they'd come back and there would be a flurry of feedback, but you never really knew if it was their ideas, or how much was coming from Nintendo."

Bandai Namco takes the wraps off its Dark Souls 2 Collector's Edition in the new trailer above, giving players a closer look at the $120 package's featured bonus material prior to its release next month.

The Collector's Edition includes the Black Armor Edition of Dark Souls 2, which bundles the game disc with a soundtrack CD featuring music from composer Motoi Sakuraba. The package also includes an art book, a cloth map, and a 12-inch PVC warrior knight figurine, which seems large and solid enough to bludgeon someone with. Note: product is not recommended for bludgeoning purposes.

The Dark Souls 2 Collector's Edition is currently sold out at Amazon, but is still available in limited quantities at NewEgg and other retailers accepting pre-orders. Dark Souls 2 launches for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms on March 11.

Coming from a Polygon interview with Nordic business and product development director Reinhard Pollice...

"The reason to bring it (Darksiders II) back is that we love Darksiders and some of us are also big fans of Nintendo and their games. Our goal is to make Darksiders available to as much people as possible. We are carefully watching the Wii U situation, but for now we don't have any more plans about titles other than whats available. For the time being we do not have any further plans for other THQ titles, or to extend our current line up to the Nintendo Wii U eShop."

Coming from a GameSpot interview with Airtight Games chief creative officer Matt Brunner...

"In all honesty, all the Wii U games I've ever played, the only good ones are the ones that are made specifically for [the Wii U]. And this just doesn't fit."

That has to be one of the most asinine answers I've ever heard. The GamePad, while it does have bells and whistles, also acts as a traditional controller. I fail to see how this title wouldn't work just fine on Wii U.
