- online mode is called “Shadows of the World”
- features both co-op and deathmatch
- deathmatch allows for up to 8 players
- this mode is called Clan Battle
- main objective is to take out the other team
- each player gets a separate objective as well, called a “Shadow Contract”
- this involves betraying your team
- another mode is called “Ninja Trials”
- this is the co-op mode, but can also be played alone
- completing certain in-game tasks earns you Karma
- this allows you to gain levels and learn more actions
- customize your ninja for multiplayer
