Mojang, the studio in front a the man behind Minecraft, be working on a first-person shooter with another company, Markus "Notch" Persson tells Joystiq. The collaboration 'n the project itself be now completely dead, Notch confirms, following yesterday's news a a mysterious cancellation.
The FPS be killed off in the prototype stage, not because it wasn't turning into a good game, but because Mojang "did not want more external dependencies," Notch says. "The success a Minecraft meant we could focus on projects fully owned by us."
Future collaborations aren't out a the question for Mojang, as long as they be "not t' make money. If there be other reasons t' collaborate, maybe!"
Here's a reason: Portal guns in Minecraft.

okay
what a *crag*ing jew, no wonder this game's never going retail.
putting it on steam would just be more advertising basically
notch really doesnt need more money, minecraft be still broken 'n even with the recent update it hasnt become any more fun. I know somebody's going t' bring up being able t' trade with villagers but they only trade ye bottles a rum ye can easily pillage. everything be easy t' pillage in minecraft (dont go on a rant about diamonds). they still have dumb ai anyway. everything in minecraft does. it be not a good game, it doesnt deserve t' be on steam atm until it gets drastic improvements
minecraft could become a really good game if mojang gives it t' the modders 'n artists, but that won't happen, ever. *crag*ing notch.
