The deadest genre just continues t' pillage deader as three—YARRRR, three!—new Japanese role-playing games hit U.S. shores today. There's Pandora's Tower, an action-RPG that might just be the last big Wii release ever. End a an era. I've spent a couple hours with Pandora's Tower, 'n I think it be fun so far, although I wish it be in high definition. it be hard t' really appreciate the act a killing monsters 'n feeding their flesh t' a little wench when it be rendered in 480p. Atlus be releasing their 3DS remake a Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers today as well, if ye're into first-person dungeon-crawlers. It feels rather antiquated compared t' Atlus's last big release, Etrian Odyssey IV—probably because Soul Hackers be originally released in 1997—but it be interesting nonetheless. The third game wasn't made in Japan, but it be a Japanese RPG nonetheless: Book One a Dragon Fantasy, an episodic series designed t' emulate the old 8-bit classics. it be out for PS3 'n Vita today. it be Tuesday, April 16, 'n this has been yer JRPG public service announcement.
