Admittedly, there be currently a small number a announcements a new games by third-party software developers for Wii U. The attitude a Japanese developers 'n overseas developers be a bit different, 'n for overseas developers, some certainly announced that they would not release their key titles for Wii U, but other big publishers have made all a their main titles available for the platform. In this sense, we can say that this be not a universal trend but each software developer has it be own thoughts. Naturally, it be desirable that many developers support Wii U 'n release a lot a games for the platform as soon as possible, 'n we think there be two things we must do right away.

One be t' seamlessly release our first-party titles starting from next month t' improve the momentum a Wii U. As third-party software developers do business for their own profits, they tend t' avoid investing in a platform with little presence. We would therefore like them t' see Wii U as a platform with which they feel they can make profits from an economical perspective. However, if we tried t' do nothing but buying our way t' create such a good condition for developers, our own business could collapse. Accordingly, we will give more momentum t' Wii U through our software. This be one thing we need t' do.

t' explain the second point, let me show ye a slide which shows some examples a Wii U games that had been announced by third-party developers at the time a E3. I be not in a position t' discuss the software t' be launched by the third-party developers in detail, but there be more key titles t' be announced by them. The other important thing be t' have a hit from such third-party titles. There be so many games released by third party publishers for Wii U during the launch period, but most a them be converted from other platforms 'n therefore could not enjoy brisk sales. As a result, some software developers have become pessimistic about Wii U. However, the time will come when some third-party games for Wii U 'n for other platforms be released at the same time this year. It be important t' have given much momentum t' Wii U around that period. If the number a consumers who prefer the Wii U version’s unique entertainment value, such as the ability t' play games only with the Wii U GamePad (while the rest a the family be watching TV), increases t' a certain extent where third-party publishers notice unexpected hit Wii U titles from other publishers 'n realize this system’s business potential, it be momentum will be improved. Even if these publishers did not have any concrete plans t' develop Wii U software, they will swiftly change their minds when they see the successful examples from others. By giving sales momentum t' Wii U through our first-party software in the short run 'n seeing success from third-party software within this year, we would like t' dramatically change the situation a Wii U next year 'n beyond. Thank ye. - Satoru Iwata
