You won't be paying for online play.
Just extra stuff.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 00:52 GMT
doesn't change the fact that sony is desperate for money.
Reply by darkz May 25 2010 00:54 GMT

And Microsoft isn't desperate for money?

If they were completely happy with the 360, they just would have stopped making people pay for online play.

Or at least take away different account types, because gold is the only one people actually buy.

Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 00:58 GMT

Sony could have an optional fee for added PSN features. If they really were desperate, they could be like Microsoft, and make you pay a monthly fee to use their online service and make you buy a $100 accessory to connect to the internet wirelessly.

Reply by ©na May 25 2010 01:12 GMT

Silver is free, you only miss one real feature, which is matchmaking. And furthermore it's not even monthly. It's 50 bucks a year.

Also you realize that the money that we use to buy Gold goes to better, lag-free servers? Of course not because you're too busy blindly defending your shit console.

It's obvious they're desperate for money because they're giving 1 free psn game per month. That's *crag*ing desperate. It's like "Hey, we got this shitty subscription here thats normally free but we give you one free game per month so it's automatically good" The least Microsoft does is give us discounts. But a game every single month?

They are happy as hell with the 360. A large library, big (Although terrible) community, and servers to support all of them without getting disconnected every 10 minutes? If anything it's better than anything Nintendo or Sony has done with online play. Mainly because it's playable, and yeah it costs money. But is that really such an issue for you? Live has been worth every *crag*ing penny I've spent, and I'm glad I've enjoyed it so much. So while you have server side issues, I'll be gladly enjoying my vidya.

PSN, issues?
WHEN THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN!?
Reply by ©na May 25 2010 01:29 GMT

It's what I hear when people talk of PSN. "dude yeah that was fun but i kept getting disconnected" "oh that sounded awesome but my connection was shitty and i could hardly play"

furthermore here's the problem with wi-fi

Interference. One slight interference can *crag* shit up terribly.
That's why wired connects are more favored, but wired connections suck because of the fact that it's wired.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 01:46 GMT

I've had my PS3 for over two years and I've never been disconnected from any game because of bad connections. The only real "problem" with PSN is that no one uses mics.

If your WiFi is that bad, you always have the (free) option of hooking up a wired connection anyways. Oh yeah, did I mention that all of that is free?

Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 01:52 GMT

Well that's fan *crag*in' tastic but it doesn't change the fact that it's still shit.

If something is "free" Then it's going to be shit somehow. And connection issues are that problem for PSN.

A perfect example of "free but shit" is roblox.

The game was free for a couple of years, then they made a premium service. and look at how far that's gotten now.

3 *crag*ing premium services, all promising a little more than the other, but either way you look at it, the game is still a pile of shit.

Enjoy PSN while it lasts, but it's just gonna get worse and worse.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:03 GMT
I'll give it to Microsoft: their online setup is better than the PS3's because of the party system, but it's probably not worth paying $50 a year for when I could be buying actual games with that money.
There is absolutely no difference between connection on either console. The only factor is whether your home connection is shitty or not.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:10 GMT

Well apparently everyone with a PS3's connection other than yours is shitty because that's all anyone ever talks about.

And the problem with this shit is if they do still make it free to play then nobody will buy the premium and it just ends up in sony getting *crag*ed

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:11 GMT
Well if my WiFi connection was hampering my ability to play online, I'd just tether it to the wall. It's that simple.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:15 GMT

Well that's great bro. But I'm not wasting money on a console with games that are probably already on 360 again.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:21 GMT
In that case, why even bother with 360 games when you can play all of them on the PC? The 360 just picks up PC games and downgrades them. I don't see why you're so obsessed with picking on the PS3 when the 360 is the obvious loser console-wise.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:26 GMT

Because some of those games aren't on PC or my PC can't run them.

It's easier with source because any computer can run source.

It's a lot harder with engines that are newer, like Cryengine.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:27 GMT
Why don't you two just play on different sides of the sandbox.
Reply by Brem May 25 2010 02:28 GMT

Because my part of the sandbox is better but he says his is better.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:29 GMT

What AAA titles do you have on your 360 that can't be played on a PC?

Halo. Nope. Gears of War. Nope. Left 4 Dead. Nope. Modern Warfare 2. Nope. Mass Effect. Nope.

Huh, not a whole lot I guess.

Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:30 GMT

Halo 3-reach isn't on PC

I don't like Gears

Left 4 dead is fine, I have the PC versions. I only got the Xbox version from my cousin as a gift for my birthday.

I already played MW2 but my PC couldn't run it, besides my xbox came with it so im not complaining.

I hate ME

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:31 GMT

So Left 4 Dead and MW2. Nice.

Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:33 GMT
uh darkz where the *crag* are you hearing all of the whining about psn having shit connection? Because that shit aint true. Flavio has some of the worst goddamn internet but has never had a problem when connected to psn.
Reply by weedlord bonerhitler May 25 2010 02:35 GMT
@Flavio: I take it darkz doesn't own a PS3
Reply by Lord Crump May 25 2010 02:37 GMT
This is *crag*ing ridiculous. You two put your dicks away and stop arguing over dumb shit.
Reply by Brem May 25 2010 02:37 GMT

those aren't the only exclusives bro.

Off the top of my head there isfable, BK N&B, Dead Rising, Shadowrun, Lost odyssey, and there are the Xbox live arcade games

I had a PS3 but it YLOD'd.

That's a common problem that I've faced with sony. Their shit always breaks spontaneously and then I'm forced to buy something else.
I had a PS1, it broke, so I had to get a PS2. Then THAT broke, so I got a PS3 a while after launch day and about a year later that YLOD'd. When I asked them to see what I could do they said I had to pay for something that was THEIR problem.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:40 GMT
You must be extremely unlucky because the failure rate of 360s and PCs is significantly higher than PS3s.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:44 GMT

PC's you can fix yourself and 360s can be fixed for free. It was utter bullshit though that this happened. I'm not buying sony hardware ever again because of it.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:45 GMT

@darkz: lemme nitpick here; you've often used hatred of RPGs in your arguments around here, so why do you use Lost Odyssey as an example of the 360's quality exclusives; do you admit that quality is objective and your subjective opinion has no bearing on objective quality

Reply by Lord Crump May 25 2010 02:46 GMT

Also alot of PS3 hardware failure cases can be fixed through following do-it-yourself online guides

Reply by Lord Crump May 25 2010 02:48 GMT

I meant to say Eternal sonata. That was pretty cool.

and the YLOD happened before it was widely known. So I lucked out there as well.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:49 GMT
And if you send in your PS3 to Sony, they will definitely fix it if it's under warranty. If it's not than it's your problem.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:50 GMT

it was under warranty.

That PS3 is long gone though.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:51 GMT
Honestly, the 360's hardware failure shit is much worse; my little brother had to send in his 360 four damn times because it RRoD'd four damn times. Talk about "quality customer service"
Reply by Lord Crump May 25 2010 02:51 GMT

Yeah but the problem has apparently been reduced. There are other variations of the RROD though.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:52 GMT
Okay, well then that's your own fault for not knowing you can get stuff fixed when it breaks.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:52 GMT

Are you kidding me? Now it's my fault? I searched the internet trying to find a way to get it fixed, nobody helped me, and there were no guides to help.

Whatever dude, You're just ignorant.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:53 GMT
Calling customers service is probably a good place to start.
Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 02:54 GMT

Did you not read? I said I called and the first time they wouldn't take it, the second time they said I had to pay to get it fixed even while it was under warranty.

Reply by darkz May 25 2010 02:56 GMT

Huh. That's wierd and unlikely but okay.

Also, I agree.

Reply by Shrowser May 25 2010 03:01 GMT

You know what, Let's just stop.

We're getting nowhere.

Let's just agree to shut the *crag* up.

Especially you flavio you're a fag
