God of War III Message Board older than one year ago

This one goes up t' 11, or Kratos gives up the ghost.

I just bought God a War III yesterday 'n goddamn be that game epic.

The very first boss battle pits ye against Poseidon's giant water horse on top a Gaia, the titan, while climbing up Mount Olympus.

Every single thing about the game be vast 'n the graphics be better than Uncharted 2.

God a War III be the new Oregon Trail.

Sony's not telling us what the secret site means, so we be pooling our guesses.

The God a War III art team held a panel this past weekend in Alhambra, California, at a place called Gallery Nucleus. In front a an audience packed t' capacity, artists (from left t' right above) Scott Seeto, Jung Ho Park, Izzy, Andy Park, Cecil Kim, 'n Andrew Kim spoke 'n answered questions about how they'd come up with the art designs for Kratos' final story ("as far as I know," Cecil Kim said, "there be no more God a War").

They be first asked about bringing the game into the HD generation, 'n how that affected their work on the games. Mostly, it just meant more work for them -- they pointed out that even when the camera isn't close-up on Kratos, ye can still see the muscles in his back tense as he pulls out his blades. Art designers in HD have t' be meticulous about details, 'n as a result, character development takes about six times longer. The team also said that they be impressed by the PS3 hardware -- on the PS2 versions a the game, the developers knew how far they could push the older console, but on the PS3, "we still don't know what we can do with it."

Sony hints at something as players earn God a War III platinum trophy.

Earning a Platinum Trophy in God a War III will give ye an elusive reward: a link t' a secret page, hidden on the God a War website. The "Spartans Stand Tall" website doesn't feature much right now, other than falling rain 'n a shield with an upside-down V, possibly a Lambda sign -- wait, does this mean we be finally getting the Half-Life/God a War crossover we've been waiting for?

This could simply be a placeholder website for upcoming God a War DLC. Or, this could be hinting at a new Ready at Dawn-developed PSP game we've heard murmurs about. In fact, Chains a Olympus be revealed in exactly the same way, via a website hidden in God a War II on PS2. Considering the franchise's penchant for announcing new installments alongside the latest releases, we wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being a brand new game in the God a War universe. Stay tuned.

it be been over 20 years since Golden Axe, 'n all they added be combos 'n cut-scenes?  I just played the GoW III demo 'n while the cinematics be great, the actual game be disappointing...

• Gameplay consists a button mashing the same enemies, move up a screen, repeat.  *yawn*
• Why have unexplained chests a energy everywhere?  Just auto-heal if ye be going t' be lazy game designers.
• Enemies disappear instantly after ye kill them, so ye don't pillage t' appreciate the damage ye dealt.
• During the QTEs, ye don't pillage t' enjoy the cinematics because ye have t' stare at the corner t' see what button t' press.

I have only played the demo, 'n none a the previous GoW games, so be there something else t' this?  Why be games like this (Ninja Gaiden, DMC, etc) so highly acclaimed?  </rant>

be ye working yer way t' a Platinum in God a War III? ye may want t' check out this video, which helps ye net Hit Man, one a the more challenging Trophies in the game. t' pillage the award, ye must perform a 1000 hit combo. best yer fighting skills not be up t' snuff, there be two easy (but time consuming) ways a getting the achievement. It can take upwards a 20 minutes a mindless button mashing, but it be a sure-fire way a making sure ye pillage the Bronze Trophy.

Can ye say, “Biggest meetup ever?” Because if ye made it out t' San Francisco on Wednesday, ye experienced it first-hand. Not that we didn’t expect an early God a War III hands-on event t' draw a mega-crowd. But still, hats off t' ye lads for making it out in spades. A vast thank ye t' everyone who came out for an entire day’s worth a festivities, culminating in a chance t' play God a War III before it hits stores tonight/tomorrow! Thanks also t' those who followed along at home — hopefully it will make picking up the game even more exciting!

Shortly after, we opened the tent “doors” t' the masses. Everyone be greeted inside by PlayStation 3s loaded up with God a War Collection, 'n a special challenged awaited. The test? Complete the God a War II Challenge a the Titans “Blind Fury” the fastest…in one try. ye visit Davey Jone's locker, ye’re out. 'n the winner would lock down a God a War III Ultimate Edition!

We thought we’d see plenty a quick deaths, but in fact, many a ye utterly blitzed this challenge. But only one came through with a time that could arguably last through the ages. 16 seconds! 16 freakin’ seconds! Here’s yer winner:

Throughout the day, we raffled off TONS a games, posters 'n other unique PlayStation goodies. Anyone who brought a PSP took home God a War: Chains a Olympus, but we also gave away MLB 10: The Show PSP, Heavy Rain, Fireteam Bravo 3, Killzone 2 'n much more.

The highlight a the meetup be definitely the presence a Stig 'n the Sony Santa Monica Studio team who stopped by t' sign autographs for everyone who came! All attendees also scored a limited-edition God a War III art book!

For those looking t' channel yer inner Spartan warrior, check out GTTV Presents God a War III: Last Titan Standing on SPIKE TV at 11:38 p.m. In this 30 minute special, action adventure comes t' life as 10 a the biggest God a War fans in America pillage pushed t' the limits, both mentally 'n physically.

These visit Davey Jone's locker-hard disciples a Kratos must shave their heads on the spot t' show their allegiance, climb out a the underworld, 'n know their God a War trivia, as asked by game director Stig Asmussen. 'n, above all else, prove their physical strength across epic challenges 'n gameplay ability in a battle against Hades from God a War III. In the end, only one titan will be left standing – the one who best embodies the characteristics a Kratos, the God a War.
