Grand Theft Auto 5's achievements have been listed, so if you're a completionist who's ready to start planning your takeover of Los Santos, take a gander. Keep in mind 17 of the 38 non-secret achievements listed are tied to GTA Online, so if you're looking to earn 100% completion, you're going to need to get social. For those going lone wolf, the single-player list is free of story spoilers, so don't worry about ruining your appetite.

Some noteworthy achievements include From Beyond the Stars, which will have players collect and return spaceship parts, and Out of Your Depth, which only contains the description "You're gonna need a bigger boat..." But lest you think GTA5 is all high-flying adventure and drug-running, there's also the Trading Pure Alpha achievement, which will require that you make a profit on your investments by playing the in-game stock market.

Well, at least we're not being hounded to go bowling.

With Grand Theft Auto 5 due in just over a month's time, Rockstar chose today to unveil the game's online component, aptly dubbed "GTA Online," in a brand new trailer.

The studio briefly teased an upcoming reveal back in last month's gameplay trailer, but now you can sit back and take in what to expect when you head online with GTA 5, which takes to the streets of PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 17.

Grand Theft Auto Online is a dynamic and persistent online world for 16 players that begins by sharing gameplay features, geography and mechanics with Grand Theft Auto V, but will continue to expand and evolve after its launch with new content created by Rockstar Games and the Grand Theft Auto community. Grand Theft Auto Online takes the fundamental Grand Theft Auto concepts of freedom, ambient activity and mission-based gameplay and makes them available to multiple players in an incredibly detailed and responsive online world.

In Grand Theft Auto Online, players have the freedom to explore alone or with friends, work cooperatively to complete missions, band together to participate in activities and ambient events, or compete in traditional game modes with the entire community, all with the personality and refined mechanics of Grand Theft Auto V.

Players can invest in their character through customizing their appearance, improving their stats, owning customized vehicles, purchasing personal property, and taking part in missions, jobs and activities to earn reputation and cash to open up new opportunities to rise through the criminal ranks. The world of Grand Theft Auto Online will constantly grow and change as new content is added, creating the first ever persistent and dynamic Grand Theft Auto game world.

Access to Grand Theft Auto Online is free with every retail copy of Grand Theft Auto V and launches on October 1st.

The Grand Theft Auto 5 website is now a one-stop tourist information center for Los Santos and Blaine County, featuring information about the local healthcare system, politics, economy, cars and attractions. It's all presented in typical paradise-vacation fashion, with even the most seedy aspects of Los Santos sprayed with the perfume of clever phrasing:

"The streets are alive with all kinds of characters who coordinate clothing colors and enjoy leisurely pursuits such as territory clashes and pharmaceutical commerce." How quaint.

The travelogue features 10 information squares, with 10 more "coming soon," including a look at "local artisans" (tattoo artists) and "security and peace of mind" (weapons and drugs). Currently, it appears the GTA5 site has issues loading in Chrome, but using a different browser should fix that right up.

One thing we've already learned from Los Santos: If it's written in friendly font, even "a true paradise of golf courses, strip malls, environmental degradation and trailer parks" can sound appealing.

To the anger of Dr Zoidberg, I’m attempting to retain an air nonchalance about GTA V. If it doesn’t come out then I can pretend I was cool about it, but if it is announced then I can break for cover and hug the nearest person to me. That could be you, btw. But that fact is the console version is out in September and nothing has been announced for the PC, so there will be some sort of delay. But a small glimmer of hope has emerged on the possibility of it coming to the PC this autumn, via an Nvidia investor call.

The Australian Classification Board handed the R18+ rating to Grand Theft Auto 5 today, so those fearing a possible repeat of the refused classification for Saints Row 4 can relax.

The classification offers no indication the Aussie version of Rockstar North's upcoming crime-fest had any of its content edited. The adult-only rating means GTA 5 can now be sold in Australia, and it's heading to retail shelves there and the world over on September 17 for Xbox 360 and PS3.

The decision may underline consternation from fans over why Saints Row 4 wasn't allowed through in light of the traditional rivals' similarities but differing decisions. The ACB recently re-reviewed its decision on an unedited version of Saints Row 4, but reaffirmed the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC game's ban due to its depiction of drug use. Publisher Deep Silver is expected to submit an edited version of the exuberant sandbox game to the ACB.

Elsewhere, Saints Row 4 comes to North America on August 20, and Europe on August 23

Grand Theft Auto V will have three different protagonists. Grand Theft Auto 5 is sure to feature more than a handful of ways to get around, including the lineup of fancy cars, planes, helicopters, four-wheelers, boats and yachts shown off in the most recent screenshot explosion. Rockstar also gives us a glimpse of GTA5's three main characters - Michael, Trevor and Franklin - in their natural habitats.

Judging by the look on Trevor's face, the strip club isn't only his natural habitat - it's his preferred one.

The PS3 bundle announced at E3, which includes a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 and a 500 GB PS3 system, is available for pre-order on Amazon for $269. Granted, the bundle won't include the stylish headset that the $299 version of the bundle does, but any opportunity to budget a little extra cash for the Steam Summer Sale is welcome to us.

The headset is exclusive to GameStop, and can be picked up on its own on the game's launch day, September 17, for $179.

Yesterday's gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto V revealed a lot about the game, including the map and all the activities we can do in addition to the main story. Since the whole map is open from the beginning, unlike the previous games, there will be a lot to tempt us away from the main game (even if we don't know about them all just yet). So let's see all these awesome things that are hopefully out there awaiting. The first and most obvious one is to explore the whole map, with a fast car... ...or flying. Speaking of flying, we can probably drop down and check all the bridges right away and hopefully be more fortunate with easter eggs than in GTA: San Andreas. At the top of that giant mountain that we've all seen in the latest trailer is a really oddly-placed shack. What could be there? Worth a look right at the beginning. One of the first things I'll probably do is to search for our home from GTA: San Andreas: Grove Street. After that I'll hit up the countryside and search for Bigfoot. Haven't found it in San Andreas, maybe this time. So much room for activities! And maybe after doing all of this, I'll finally start the first mission. Will you go for the main story or for more of what's listed above? Hit the comments and show us! To contact the author of this post, write to gergovas@kotaku.com

In the gameplay trailer yesterday for Grand Theft Auto V, one of the three protagonists, Franklin, leaves a Medical Marajuana dispensary. As he’s leaving, he smells a vial in his hand and says “Damn!” Which begs the question: Can you smoke pot in Grand Theft Auto V? Yes, you were able to buy drugs in China Town Wars. Yes, CJ accidentally got contact high in San Andreas. And yes, Niko Bellic was no stranger to getting staggeringly, incapacitatingly drunk. But for the most part, the protagonists of Grand Theft Auto said no to drugs, which is very funny considering that drugs and drug users are everywhere in Grand Theft Auto series. “So what,” you might ask, “Why would this be important?” Well, for a lot of reasons. For one, drinking was one of my favorite parts about Grand Theft Auto IV (and Red Dead Redemption). Watching Nico struggle to stand up like an intoxicated toddler added a weird, QWOP-like sense of hilarity and acted as a subtle reminder of just how stupid and self-destructive a person can get when they let themselves drink to excess — particularly when they try to drive. The challenge of Franklin attempting to navigate the world stoned, and subsequently driving his car 5 miles an hour, could fill a similar gameplay niché. Another reason? People typically aren’t that violent when they smoke pot. That could be really funny in a game that is, on paper, about committing violent crimes. Imagine Franklin leaves the dispensary, smokes some pot, and then completely forgets about the heist he’s supposed to commit in a hour because he really, really wants to go home, eat a pizza bagel and play, well, Grand Theft Auto. The really important part, however, is that GTA V is ultimately game about Los Angeles, and it simply isn’t Los Angeles without medical marijuana dispensaries. Social taboos have changed and cannabis culture is just a part of normal California culture now, in a way that it wasn’t when Grand Theft Auto started off in 1997. Without pot, L.A. simply isn’t LA. So yes, this is speculative, and based on a single shot in a trailer. But if it turns out to be the case, it'll make the southern California experience that much more rooted in reality. We have reached out to Rockstar and will update if we receive any new information. To contact the author of this post, write to chrisperson@kotaku.com or find him on Twitter @papapishu
