When it be first announced in April 2009, Six Days in Fallujah, from developer Atomic Games, raised more than a few eyebrows. Peace groups, veterans 'n some families a killed American soldiers lambasted the studio 'n it be then publishing partner Konami for turning the unpopular war into an interactive entertainment experience. Taking place within a six-day span during the gruesome November 2004 campaign a Operation Phantom Fury, Six Days in Fallujah attempts t' tell the true stories a multiple veterans who experienced the ordeal 'n, according t' Atomic, several a them collaborated with the developer t' help create the title.

Speaking with Joystiq during PAX East 2010, Atomic president Peter Tamte offered a lengthy update on the game's development progress. He addressed in detail it be tone 'n the potential controversies inherent in it be subject matter. November 2004 be still considered the most brutal single month a the Iraq War in terms a US casualties, 'n there be questions about how Six Days in Fallujah will handle the deaths a real people. The game not only has a responsibility t' be respectful, it has a responsibility t' be truthful.

Atomic Games' Breach be a first-person, multiplayer shooter set t' infiltrate Xbox Live Arcade this summer. The game mixes a cover system with destructible environments, 'n allows players t' see their handiwork (or, umm, terrible aim) on walls, floors, ceilings 'n even single bricks.

Featuring four classes (five after mastering two classes), an experience points system t' purchase gadgets, four maps, four game types, 23 weapons 'n more, Breach seems like it be going for the type a hefty multiplayer experience one would expect from a full-priced retail title -- though we hope it'll have a less traumatic voyage t' release than the same developer's Six Days in Fallujah did. We'll have a hands-on later today at PAX East.

ye'd be forgiven for assuming that Atomic Games' announcement that it be working on a Wii FPS be the final nail in the coffin for semi-documentary game Six Days in Fallujah. But Atomic says that even though it be releasing a ported 'n renamed version a 2005's Close Combat: First t' Fight for Wii (through publisher Destineer), it be not giving up on it be original project, which be axed by Konami in April. The news that Marines: Modern Urban Combat -- huh, what do ye mean that subtitle sounds familiar? -- will arrive November 10 comes after rumors that layoffs had all but shuttered the studio. Though Atomic's on t' other projects, Gamasutra reports that the developer's president, Peter Tamte, still insists it "remains committed" t' Fallujah. we be happy t' see that Atomic's still plugging along, but if ye're expecting t' see Six Days in Fallujah anytime soon ... well, just don't.
