The following info comes from an EDGE interview with Nintendo producer Yoshiaki Koizumi and EAD Tokyo team leader Kenta Motokura...

- work has begun on a new Mario game
- won't reveal if its for 3DS or Wii U

“I can tell you, though, that we’ve already started approaching our next challenge. There’s still a lot more room for discovery and invention, and we’ll continue to propose new and exciting game mechanics going into the future.” - Koizumi

- if the next title is a Wii U game, Motokura says the team “might need to make even more use of the GamePad.”
- the Double Cherry power-up was once again confirmed to spawn from a glitch
- Cat Mario came from a desire to have Mario make use of the ground and other surfaces
- this idea started out with the characters running around on all-fours
- when originally tested, the characters that ran on all-fours were simply a different color

Today we would like to talk a little about our crafting and harvesting system! (We'll get to the kittens further down in the post)

We have gone about this the organic way by allowing the player to plant various seeds that will grow into ammunition for the different characters. We wanted to give the player a base to come back to after each quest, a place to rest and prepare for the next journey.

The idea is to split up some of the character progression elements into object and plants on your home base.

A portion of a Nintendo Feed interview with Syrenne McNulty...

NF: What made you choose the Wii U as a console rather than others?

SM: Could you imagine booting out of Ryse: Son of Rome, Dead Rising 3, inFAMOUS Second Son, or Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, and then launching I've Got to Run! ? Incidentally, I’m not saying anything negative about any of those games – I love two of them and really enjoyed the other two, but there’s a certain connection between arcade-y styles of gameplay and Nintendo platforms that at least permeates my unconscious. It also doesn't hurt that Nintendo is rapidly increasing their indie outreach and making their platforms easy to develop for!

8th April 2014 – On 17th April, Nintendo eShop is set to welcome the skills of budding football tacticians from across the continent when the football management simulation Nintendo Pocket Football Club releases exclusively for Nintendo 3DS family systems as a downloadable title. With the chance to lead a team of pint-sized players from humble beginnings to future glories, train up your team and choose to take on fellow managers via online play, and compete to be ranked as one of the ‘Top 100 Teams’ in Europe on the Nintendo Pocket Football Club Stats website.

In Nintendo Pocket Football Club, your first steps in building the foundations for your managerial legacy lie in creating your club’s team name, kit and emblem, while early decisions at the Team Camp need to be made when discovering your best starting line-up and tactics. To improve your players’ performances, Training Cards found during matches are the key to helping your players reach their full Potential, with the ability to combine cards to discover Special Combos and enhance your players’ attributes even further. Only by experimenting with Training Cards, tinkering with your team selection, and getting your players plenty of game time will you start to see results pay off on the pitch.

While it is possible to play Nintendo Pocket Football Club as a single-player experience, managers can compete against friends in a Local Match, receive unique new opponents via SpotPass for friendly match practice, or swap data with fellow Nintendo Pocket Football Club owners through StreetPass encounters to take on their teams and secure more Training Cards in the process. If you’re feeling particularly benevolent towards your fellow managers, you can even share your star performers using the Friend Market, with Nintendo Pocket Football Club owners on your Nintendo 3DS friend list therefore also able to have your top performers in their side!

From around launch, the official Nintendo Pocket Football Club website will be supplemented by the Nintendo Pocket Football Club Stats website, your one-stop shop for seeing how your team is performing when competing in online Ranking Matches with fellow managers. In Ranking Matches, set up your team’s style of play before letting them loose against players from across Europe. As well as a ‘Top 100 Teams’ ranking for the whole of Europe, the Nintendo Pocket Football Club Stats website also boasts a ranking feature showing the ‘Top 100 Teams’ from the same country as your club. Keep an eye out also for SpotPass messages delivered from launch which will invite you to participate in set tournaments – just another way to boost your managerial skills and go head to head with fellow bosses.

Create your own pocket-sized dynasty from 17th April when Nintendo Pocket Football Club releases exclusively on Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS family systems, available at a special launch offer price of £10.79 until 1st May (23:59 local time). After this date, the game will be available to purchase from Nintendo eShop for £13.49.

This may have been the case for quite some time now, but I haven't heard an official announcement anywhere outside of this. My apologies if this is old news to some of you.

When we first started developing the world in Earthlock we knew we wanted to have a strong female main character.

Back then Ive was actually called Lavender and she had a Victorian outfit and was inspired by the Red Mages in the Final Fantasy’s job class system.

Skim by that image quick enough and you might not think anything strange is going on. Stop to take a look and you'll realize that this is a Wiimote ripoff. It's part of the G20, a Chinese game console coming from a collaboration between the Alibaba and Xiao Bawang companies. Some people have no shame...

A portion of a USGamer review...

As challenging as it is strange, Yumi's Odd Odyssey seems doomed to obscurity thanks both to its aesthetics and its quiet release onto eShop. It deserves notice, though. It's the first U.S. release of a long-running cult series from Japan, and – more importantly – it's loads of challenging fun.

We're very excited about our next cameo reveal. The developers at Frozenbyte have graciously allowed us to feature Zoya from the beautiful Trine games. If you haven't played Trine or Trine 2, you can find both on Steam and Trine 2 on Wii U. They are excellent games to play with friends or tackle solo. And the gamepad is perfect for working out puzzles.
