According to the latest issue of ONM UK, NERO will be coming to the Wii U eShop. Not much is known about the title, but players will be taken on a first-person journey across a midnight dreamscape. Carlo Bianchi, the creative director at Storm in a Teacup added: ''Let’s just say that Nero is about finding out a truth that is going to be gold through gameplay.''

NERO will release on multiple systems, but the Wii U version will have all the UI elements on the GamePad. There will be a map on there and extra indicators to make it all tick.

Those comments were made based on a conversation I had with the developer who's been working on the WII-U version, he was unable to get the console to perform anywhere near what the xbox one and ps4 were capable of. I was misinformed in that I said the ps3 was far more powerful... after speaking to him again, I was told that while the system still does not compare to XB1 or PS4, I was incorrect in regards to the ps3 comparison, and for that I apologize.

IRVINE Calif. -- April 9, 2014 -- Being the Vice President of the World means asking not what you can do for your countrymen, but what your countrymen can do for you! And specifically in the case of Citizens of Earth, it means making them fight your battles for you -- and we're talking literal battles here, since Citizens of Earth is a role-playing game from indie developer Eden Industries and published by Atlus U.S.A., Inc. The game will be released later in 2014 as a download-only title for PC, PlayStation(r)4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation(r)Vita handheld entertainment system, Nintendo 3DSTM, and Wii UTM. For more information, check out the official website: http://www.atlus.com/citizensofearth

The retro-inspired Citizens of Earth pits players as the second-highest-paid bureaucrat in the land. The game begins just after winning a long, drawn-out candidacy, and the VP returns to his hometown for some taxpayer-funded rest and relaxation. But after just one night passes, the VP awakens to find the world gone berserk! As elected official he has two responsibilities: investigate what's caused people to go crazy... and delegate as much of the dirty work as possible. Citizens of Earth has 40 wacky citizens to recruit and send into battle. Wait, did we just say there are 40 playable characters? Why not make it... 41!

ATLUS Holding Open Contest to Contribute a Playable Citizen to Citizens of Earth

That's right, we're letting Joe or Jill Schmoe get their taste of that game development brass ring by holding a contest to contribute their ideas for a citizen that Eden Industries will then add to the game! Full contest rules and online entry form can be found here: http://www.atlus.com/citizensofearth/coty

We'll narrow the field down to five finalists on April 18 and hold a public vote on our Facebook page.

*now back to your irregularly scheduled press release*

Citizens of Earth features include:

Gotta Recruit 'em All -- Every vote counts, and sometimes you have to do some pretty shameful things to get them... Citizens of Earth has 40 citizens to collect to fight in your party, each with their own unique play-style and out-of-combat world abilities. Everyone in town will lend a hand, from the way-too-jittery Barista and the ever-optimistic Weatherlady to the notoriously skeezy car salesman and the ridiculously shy (and totally real) Sasquatch!

Occupy Earth! -- It's time to take back Earth from the opposition. There are no random encounters in Citizens of Earth; you'll see every enemy on the field before you fight them. So go ahead and maneuver around those unwanted encounters or command your constituents to charge in for an ambush! As long as the VP's got a party to do his dirty work, it's all good!

It's Déjà Vu All Over Again... But Better -- Citizens of Earth has some serious nostalgic cues, but don't worry, we didn't skimp on the graphics for the sake of being retro. This title goes far beyond the 16-bit standard, with real-time lighting, HD art, a day/night cycle, weather effects, and more.

Four- or Eight-Year Terms -- The depth of content in Citizens of Earth means you can play a quick and casual adventure or a white-knuckle, pray-you-survive-until-the-next-turn grind-fest! The game is filled with hours of bonus content to explore, optional side-quests, and of course, citizens waiting to be recruited!

Citizens of Earth will be available in North America and Europe later in 2014 as a download-only title for the PS4, PS Vita, 3DS, Wii U and PC. Developed by Eden Industries and published by ATLUS.

I've been crunching some numbers lately. I've calculated that adding Nintendaan's wave to these Wednesday posts has increased positive votes by at least 20%. Those are numbers I can get behind!

Daan is once again taking on the site from now until around 10 PM East Coast time. He'll do a fantastic job as always, so please hang out with him and have some fun! It's been a busy week for Nintendo fans so far!

See you guys/gals later tonight. Enjoy your Daan time!

Mario and Luigi's amusing animations and "voice acting", plus the game's great sense of humour, will also keep you smiling from ear to ear. This might be the first game in the series, but AlphaDream hit the jackpot right away - it's still among the best.

As usual, when a statement like this comes up, it's always nice to hear from other devs with experience on both platforms. Hopefully those comments will surface soon. Thanks to Lucas for the heads up!

A portion of a 4cr review...

Yumi’s Odd Odyssey is a fun game that is hard to master, but very rewarding once you get things right. Mastering the swing mechanic for the fishing line is a must, and the game’s developers played with it to create some clever and punishing puzzles that will keep you busy for hours.

Coming from a Nintendo Life interview with Adam Oliver, one of the devs on Project M...

“Upon becoming more and more popular with the mainstream Smash scene, we were reminded of a very important and humbling fact about the nature of Super Smash Bros: its genre versatility. We also want to stress that we earnestly believe in the ideal that Super Smash Bros. is a series that is meant to be enjoyed by a wide audience. With so many options to choose from, Smash games can be played as both competitive fighters and party games. We truly believe in the creed that there isn't a right way to play Super Smash Bros., only a way that is right for you. It is an important distinction that we take to heart when developing Project M. When we say that we've taken heavy inspiration on Super Smash Bros. Melee, it is partially because it adheres to these standards.

Project M has reinforced the idea to respect any and all smashers. Seeing all of these smashers from different scenes play our game made us meet many different people with different opinions. In the end, we came to the conclusion that no matter where we come from, we are all bound by a love of Smash... Our greatest hope is that Project M will be played and enjoyed by many [people]. It is being played in many homes and our fanbase is on a steady increase. We hope that this tendency will continue.”
