The Indie Capsule Bundle is now live, and gives buyers seven games for $3.49. The bundle, slated to end on January 7, is hosted through Bundle Stars and hand-picked by Capsule Computers.

Those that pick up the Indie Capsule Bundle will receive Steam keys for the following seven games: side-scrolling adventure/shooter Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, creepy horror game Slender: The Arrival, Blood of the Werewolf, And Yet It Moves, Snuggle Truck, Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time and Plain Sight. Three of the seven games, And Yet It Moves, Doc Clock and Snuggle Truck, are Mac compatible. The savings amount to $55, or 93 percent off the combined retail price of each game.

Bundle Stars has a few other money-saving packages that are ending sooner, such as the Plains, Trains and Automobiles Bundle and the Outer Limits Bundle for $4.01 each, as well as the Ultimate Sci-Fi Bundle and the FPS Warriors Bundle for $3.50 each.

What are you doing tonight?

We here at RPS are card-carrying fans of Plain Sight, the beautiful, acrobatic, low-gravity robot dueling game. So last week when the developers got in touch about organising an RPS Plain Sight night to give a boost to the game’s ailing playerbase, I was all to eager to shout “Yes!”, though it was more like “Yepht,” because at the time I was eating spaghetti. Whether you do or don’t own Plain Sight, if you want to have some fun and/or do a good deed and/or literally run rings around a sucker or two, tonight is for you. Details after the jump.(more…)

If you've not experienced the robot combat of Plain Sight yet, there's never been a better time to hop aboard. First: It finally has top hats! Second: It's just $2 for the next two days on Steam. If you've ever spent $2 on something dumber than "robots fighting," you simply have no excuse.

Being a giant, beloved video game blog has its downsides. For example, we sometimes neglect to give independent developers our coverage love (or loverage, if you will) as we get caught up in AAA, AAAA or the rare quintuple-A titles. To remedy that, we're giving indies the chance to create their own loverage and sell you, the fans, on their studios and products. This week we talk with Robin Lacey, the managing director of Beatnik Games, about his company's brand new ninja robot multiplayer action game Plain Sight.

How did Beatnik Games get started?

Two years ago Damien (an old school friend) and myself got very drunk after work. After many beers we decided that life was far too short to be rotting behind a desk. Everyone knew a recession was coming, so we figured we might as well be poor doing something we loved rather than mundane crap. That was video games.

For a few months we rushed around finding investment and building a team to join us on our hair-brained venture. In January 2008 we moved into our office and got started. Over the last couple of years our team has grown to eight people, all about the same age, all winging it in the same way.
