The good people at Humble Bundle have opted to make the Humble Sid Meier Bundle even more attractive, with two additional DLC packs for Civilization 5, as well as the 2004 remake of seminal swashbuckling simulator Sid Meier's Pirates.

As it now stands, those who spend any amount of money between $0 and $9.19 for the Humble Sid Meier Bundle will receive Civilization 3 Complete Edition, Civilization 4 Complete Edition, Sid Meier's Railroads, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol and that game's Pacific Skies expansion pack. Spend between $9.19 and $15 and you'll walk away with all of the aforementioned software, plus Sid Meier's Pirates, Civilization 5 and the Gods And Kings, Scrambled Nations and Scrambled Continents DLC additions spawned by the strategy game. Any amount over $15 will add Civilization 5: Brave New World to the Bundle, completing that game's range of DLC releases. Additionally, the highest pricing tier includes the Civilization 5 soundtrack as well as "Baba Yetu," the Grammy-winning theme from Civilization 4.

As with all Humble Bundle collections, those who purchase the Humble Sid Meier Bundle are given a choice on how to allocate their cash. You can either reward publisher 2K Games for making these games available, or you can shift your money toward Action Against Hunger, a humanitarian group working to end starvation and malnutrition throughout the developing world. Visit the Humble Bundle website for more information. [Image: 2K Games]

Sid Meier's Pirates! has found another platform to plunder, sailing onto iPad for $6.99. The game includes the classic minigames from the original PC title, with some like "bombardment" (pictured) from the Wii version.

The casual-core game also features the ability to "Piratize" your own picture using the iPad 2's camera, along with Game Center support. So, if you don't already own this game for the several platforms it has generated booty from, here's the latest, setting sail to make its fortune.

A portion of a C3 review… There is potentially a wealth of time to be spent in Sid Meier’s Pirates! There are heaps of quests and challenges to uncover and unlock. However, the strategy of the original PC game is replaced with mindless mini-games and even the product itself does not seem to be bothered if [...]

A portion of a Pixlbit review… Those who have no familiarity with the title or have played the remake should skip this Wii port, while others who enjoyed the original might want to check out this update to see how the gameplay has evolved.

Continuing the never ending cycle that is The Pirate Game, The Ninja Game and The Zombie game, 2K Games will release its Wii version of Sid Meier's Pirates! on October 5 in North America. (No date for the West Indies, sorry.)

The conversion was handled by 2K China and incorporates motion control for the game's ship-boarding saber duels, along with a couple new minigames (bombardment and lock picking). In fact, even the classic original (and its 2004 update) basically comprised a mixture of minigames, from nautical combat, to diplomacy, to land battles and ... ballroom dancing. Who said pirates aren't classy? Not the dead men -- they tell no tales!

Sid Meier's Pirates! will set sail this fall on Wii, keelhauling two new minigames for the console. Developed by 2K China, this latest port of the evergreen title features "streamlined controls" for the Wiimote, along with everything else that made this casual-core title a success for every platform it's been on -- speaking of which, we'd certainly appreciate an HD remake for XBLA and PSN.

The two new minigames for the Wii version are "bombardment" (pictured) and "lock picking." The port wlll also feature "exclusive character and ship customization options." And now all we want to do is make the S.S. Kirby: a giant pink boat with eyes on its sails that gobbles up the treasures of the Caribbean.

Sid Meier's Pirates!, a game that sails the line between casual and core, has been given an ESRB rating for the Wii. Pirates! has had a long career since setting out for adventure in 2004, finding new booty across PC, Xbox, PSP and Mac. The game was rated E 10+, so parents be warned: there's "some female characters [who] wear low-cut dresses that expose a lot of cleavage."

We've contacted 2K Games for more information about how the Wii's features will be implemented and when the game will pull into Port Retail.
