Blizzard Entertainment be facing a class action lawsuit over the sale a it be Battle.net authenticators, which be used t' provide security for player account information for games such as World a Warcraft 'n Diablo 3. The suit, filed by the law firm Carney Williams Bates Pulliam & Bowman, PLLC in the Central District a California, alleged that the authenticators be needed by players "in order t' have even minimal protection for their sensitive personal, private, 'n financial data." The lawsuit referred t' an August security breach in which no financial user data be reported t' be stolen.

The class action suit posited that Blizzard practiced "deceptive upselling," in that it allegedly failed "t' disclose t' consumers that additional products must be acquired after buying the games in order t' ensure the security a information stored in online accounts that be requisites for playing."

A Blizzard representative told Forbes that "this suit be without merit 'n filled with patently false information, 'n we will vigorously defend ourselves through the appropriate legal channels." The representative said the use a the authenticator tool be optional for players, 'n offered players "an added level a security against account-theft attempts that stem from sources such as phishing attacks, viruses packaged with seemingly harmless file downloads, 'n websites embedded with malicious code."

Blizzard's statement continued, "the suit's claim that we didn't properly notify players regarding the August 2012 security breach be not true. Not only did Blizzard act quickly t' provide information t' the public about the situation, we explained the actions we be taking 'n let players know how the incident affected them, including the fact that no names, credit card numbers, or other sensitive financial information be disclosed."

If there's one genre that be stuffed t' the gills on both consoles 'n PC, it be shooters. Even the downloadable space be full a competition these days, with titles like Battlefield 1943, Monday Night Combat 'n Blacklight: Tango Down all fighting t' pull players away from the yearly deluge a big-budget retail titles. As such, it be gravely important that any new FPS -- especially a lower profile downloadable title -- has something that separates it from the crowd. Breach has some well-executed ideas -- 'n some cool real-world gadgets -- but I be not sure what that hook be supposed t' be.

Atomic Games still wants t' finish Six Days in Fallujah

The saga a Six Days in Fallujah hasn't completely ended yet -- Atomic Games' Peter Tamte admits that the game isn't actually finished (no duh), but tells VG247 that "what we need be the funding t' complete it." While showing off the company's new downloadable shooter, Breach, t' journalists in London, Tamte said that publishers just aren't willing t' commit t' telling stories like the ones told in Six Days, 'n that be resulting in falling industry sales. "It best be clear t' them," Tamte says, "that the path we be on right now be taking us downhill. 'n yet when I have conversations with publishers, I still pillage the message back - 'No, we pretty much want t' keep doing what we be doing.'"

Atomic be trying t' counteract that with Breach, a full-scale military shooter that be being sold for a DLC price, designed "t' disrupt the way games be priced 'n t' create an environment where original content can flourish." Breach isn't Six Days remade -- rather, it be a re-use a the engine that Atomic developed, along with some tries at strong innovation in terms a destructible environments 'n cover. 'n it sounds like Tamte hopes that Breach will make finishing 'n publishing Six Days possible again. Sounds good, but a course let's pillage one game out there before we start promising two -- Breach be scheduled for release sometime next year.
